In view of the serious problems facing mankind （greenhouse effect, hunger, energy etc.） and to completion of previous researches aimed the their mitigation, the authors dwell on the contributions that the cultivation of algae can give. They highlight the significant advantage that the algae provide for their ability to give high-use value products and great value-market, based on the recovery and storage of CO 2 emitted from industry. They hope an increased interest of the governments towards the algal products and towards other industrial products and processes that it is possible obtain by the use of CO 2 to give economic value to it.

Intratumoral sampling variability in hepatocellular carcinoma: A case report

It is widely believed that climate change on the planet largely depends on discharges of CO 2 due to human *** is the reason why many countries, including China, have committed themselves, with the Kyoto Protocol, to reducing their discharge of CO 2 into the atmosphere. Reducing the discharge of CO 2 has therefore become a common objective of the international community, to be pursued primarily through a series of actions aimed at increasing the sustainability of industrial *** are various types of actions that have been proposed: they range from reducing the use of fossil fuels, the separation of CO 2 prior to its release into the atmosphere, its capture and storage in the oceans or underground, to an increase in the use of renewable energy sources, nuclear energy, *** paper, however, pays particular attention to the contribution that CO 2 is able to provide both in industrial processes and as a raw material employed in production processes, to obtain products and goods, and ultimately, to the way in which, from a waste product with a high environmental impact （like CO 2 ） it is possible to create economic value. The authors quantify this possibility.

The differential diagnosis between hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and regenerative liver nodules and other primary liver tumors may be very difficult, particularly when performed on liver biopsies. Difficulties in histological typing may be often minimized by immunohistochemistry. Among the numerous markers proposed, CK18, Hep Par1 and glypican 3 (GPC3) are considered the most useful in HCC diagnosis. Here we report a case of HCC in a 72-year-old male with HBV- related chronic liver disease, characterized by a marked morphological and immunohistochemical intratumoral variability. In this case, tumor grading ranged from areas extremely well differentiated, similar to regenerative nodule, to undifferentiated regions, with large atypical multinucleated cells. While almost all sub nodules were immunostained by Hep Par 1, immunoreactivity for glypican 3 and for Ck18 was patchy, with negative tumor region adjacent to the highly immunoreactive areas. Our case stresses the relevance of sampling variability in the diagnosis of HCC, and indicates that caution should be taken in grading an HCC and in the interpretation of immunohistochemical stains when only small core biopsies from liver nodules are available.

We have applied the Random Matrix Theory in order to examine the validity of the NPT treatment in HSP. We have investigated the pathology examining the sEMG recorded signal for about eight minutes. We have performed standard electromyographic investigations as well as we have applied the RMT method of analysis. We have investigated the sEMG signals before and after the NPT treatment. The application of a so robust method as the RMT evidences that the NPT treatment was able to induce a net improvement of the disease respect to the pathological status before NPT.

Hepatitis B virus(HBV)affects approximately two billion people worldwide and more than 240 million people in the world are currently chronic carrier that could develop serious complications in the future,like liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular *** an extended HBV immunization program is being carried out since the early‘80s,representing effective preventive measure,leading to a dramatic reduction of HBV hepatitis incidence,globally HBV infection still represents a major public health *** HBV virus is a DNA virus belongs to the Hepadnaviridae *** HBV-DNA is a circular,partial double strand *** coding information is on the minus DNA strand and it is organized into four open reading *** hepatitis B virus is a DNA virus,it has a high mutation rate due to its replicative strategy,that leads to the production of many nonidentical variants at each cycle of *** fact,it contains a polymerase without the proofreading activity,and uses an RNA intermediate(pg RNA)during its replication,so error frequencies are comparable to those seen in retroviruses and other RNA viruses rather than in more stable DNA *** to the low fidelity of the polymerase,the high replication rate and the overlapping reading frames,mutations occur throughout the genome and they have been identified both in the structural and not structural *** arise of mutations being to develop of a whole of viral variants called"quasi-species"and the prevalent population,which favors virus replication,was selected by viral fitness,host’s immune pressure and external pressure,i.e.,vaccination or antiviral *** occurring mutations were found both in acute and chronic *** the present review we examine and discuss the most recent available data about HBV genetic variability and its significance.

AIM:To compare perioperative parameters of one-handed rotational phacoemulsification technique(one-handed phaco-roll)with each of other two techniques,“Divide et Conquer”and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery(FLACS)METHODS:In this retrospective and comparative cohort study,eyes with uncomplicated cataract(nuclear density grade 2 to 3)treated routinely with one-handed phacoroll(n=23;Group 1)or“Divide et Conquer”(n=23;Group 2)or FLACS(n=23;Group 3)were *** parameters including effective phaco-time(EPt),ultrasound time(USt),aspiration time,surgical time,phacoemulsification(phaco)-power,balanced salt solution(BSS)use,cumulative dissipated energy(CDE)were recorded and *** outcomes including best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),corneal endothelial cell density(ECD),endothelial cell loss(ECL),central corneal thickness(CCT)and central macular thickness(CMT),were assessed and compared pre-operatively and at 1mo after ***:Aspiration and surgical time,and BSS used were lower in Group 1(P<0.01)than other ***,phaco-power and CDE were lower in Group 1(P<0.05)than Group 2 but not significantly different from Group *** Group 1,USt was lower(P<0.05)than Group 2 but higher(P<0.05)than Group *** improved in all groups without significant difference between Group 1 and the other *** significant differences regarding all post-operative morphologic outcomes(ECD,ECL,CCT,CMT)were *** clinical complications ***:One-handed phaco-roll seems to be less time-consuming than“Divide et Conquer”and FLACS and less energy-consuming than“Divide et Conquer”.Furthermore,one-handed phaco-roll seems to have an equal safety profile compared to the other two techniques.

The use of calcium hydroxide nanoparticles (nanolime) in hydro-alcoholic suspensions represents a good enhancement in particular in the conservation of stones and surfaces of interest in Cultural Heritage. In this work we have produced nanolime by using our alternative method of synthesis (based on the use of a surfactant agent in the original solution) and we have studied, for the first time, structural and morphological properties of the synthesized nanoparticles directly in hydro-alcoholic suspension by synchrotron X-ray diffraction technique and transmission electron micro-scope observations. The particles characterization was performed on suspensions synthesized by varying surfactant content in the synthesis procedure and the water/alcohol ratio, too. We have found that only pure and crystalline Ca(OH)2 particles produced during the synthesis procedure and they maintained stably in suspension. These particles were hexagonally plated and regularly shaped with side dimension ranging from 300 to 40 nm or less;they had a platy habit and they presented, particularly with high alcohol content in suspension, a preferred orientation along z-axis.
