巨大视网膜裂孔的手术疗法和预后

Objective. To report the management and outcome in retinal detachments associa ted with giant retinal tears (GRTs). Methods. Retrospective, case note analysis of patients treated between November 1991 and June 2002 at a tertiary referral h ospital. Results. The case notes of 29 patients (24 males, 5 females) with a fol low up ranging from five months to 7 years were reviewed. In all, 25 eyes had r etinal detachments with macular involvement and 10 patients had myopia more than 6 D. All patients underwent vitrectomy. A total of 23 patients had heavy liquid and 16 had scleral explants; 28 patients had silicone oil and one had C3F8 tamp onade. Intraoperative complications included lens trauma and iatrogenic GRT. Six eyes had recurrent retinal detachment and needed multiple surgical procedures. At the last follow up, 25 patients had anatomically attached retinas. In all, 1 8 fellow eyes were treated prophylactically. Three patients had total retinal de tachment and marked PVR. The visual acuity improved in 20 eyes. Conclusion. GRTs are more common in patients with high myopia. With newer techniques of surgical treatment of GRTs, the anatomical and visual outcomes are more favourable.

Objective. To report the outcomes following treatment of retinal tears with argon laser photocoagulation by trainee doctors as an emergency procedure. Methods. Retrospective, case note analysis of 100 consecutive patients treated between August 2000 and December 2002 at a tertiary referral hospital. Result. The case notes of 100 consecutive patients (41 male,59 female)-with a mean age of 57.5 years were reviewed. Out of these 90 were symptomatic. The follow-up period ranged from 1 week to 8 months. All patients had argon laser retinopexy in the Emergency department. The on-call Registrar performed the procedure on 94 patients, and Senior House Officers performed the other six. A total of 98 procedures were performed on the slit lamp and two by laser indirect ophthalmoscope. In all, 24 patients needed further treatment with either indirect laser, cryotherapy, or surgery. At the last follow-up, all the patients had anatomically attached retinas. Conclusion. A significant proportion of patients (24% ) undergoing laser retinopexy in the emergency department needed further treatment. The relative inexperience in using the indirect laser, together with its unavailability in the Emergency department, may be the contributory factors. There seems to be scope for supervised training in using the laser indirect ophthalmoscope for the trainees in the Ophthalmic Emergency department.

This research article mainly reports on the precise structural,optical,and photocatalytic properties of cerium(Ce)-substituted yttrium manganite(yMnO_(3))nanoparticles synthesized by the polyacrylamide gel *** characteristics of yMnO_(3)were investigated by the substitution of Ce into the y site at various molar *** Raman and X-ray diffraction(XRD)analyses confirmed the pure phase of hexagonal yMnO_(3),supported by the Rietveld *** microstructural studies indicate inhomogeneous and irregular particle *** X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results show the presence of two ionic states of Mn and Ce along with y^(3+)state and oxygen *** optical exploration using photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy and UV-Vis-NIR analysis indicates that the intensity of absorption peak increases in the visible region,while the bandgap decreases from 1.42 to1.30 eV with the Ce ion doping(5 mol%-15 mol%).Photocatalytic properties of the polycrystalline nanoparticles were investigated by degradation of the pollutant *** process of amplified photocatalysis process was elucidated by the lowered bandgap and rate of charge carrier *** can be conjugated from this study that the synthesized nanoparticles may be employed as highly efficient(92.8%)visible light-triggered photocatalysts in a variety of real-world applications.

This study investigated an economic order quantity (EOQ) model with completebackorder for fixed lifetime perishable items under multiple advance and delayedpayments policies. Here, a new type of business policy is consideredwhere supplieroffers the retailer to pay a fraction of the purchasing cost before the order deliverybymultiple equal installments starting from the ordering time and the rest amountafter the delivery by multiple equal installments. Here, some theoretical results areillustrated to determine the conditions of existence and uniqueness of the optimalsolutions. A closed form solution is determined to solve the proposed model underapproximation. Some numerical examples are provided to examine the validity ofthe proposed model. Finally, sensitivity analyses are presented to obtain the effectof optimal policy and provide some managerial insights of the model.

Brownian particles suspended in disordered crowded environments often exhibit non-Gaussian normal diffusion(NGND),whereby their displacements grow with mean square proportional to the observation time and non-Gaussian *** distributions appear to decay almost exponentially according to“universal”laws largely insensitive to the observation *** effect is generically attributed to slow environmental fluctuations,which perturb the local configuration of the suspension *** investigate the microscopic mechanisms responsible for the NGND phenomenon,we study Brownian diffusion in low dimensional systems,like the free diffusion of ellipsoidal and active particles,the diffusion of colloidal particles in fluctuating corrugated channels and Brownian motion in arrays of planar convective *** appears to be a transient effect related to the time modulation of the instantaneous particle’s diffusivity,which can occur even under equilibrium ***,we propose to generalize the definition of NGND to include transient displacement distributions which vary continuously with the observation *** this purpose,we provide a heuristic one-parameter function,which fits all time-dependent transient displacement distributions corresponding to the same diffusion ***,we reveal the existence of low dimensional systems where the NGND distributions are not leptokurtic(fat exponential tails),as often reported in the literature,but platykurtic(thin sub-Gaussian tails),i.e.,with negative excess *** actual nature of the NGND transients is related to the specific microscopic dynamics of the diffusing particle.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

采用差示扫描量热法(DSC),在不同加热速率下研究7150 Al-Zn-Mg合金在水淬、自然时效和人工时效状态下的固态反应。DSC曲线上不同的放热和吸热峰对应着不同的固态反应阶段。随着加热速率的增加,各个峰位对应的温度也随之增加,表明这些固态反应是热力学活化和动力学控制的。通过测量不同时效时间下合金的硬度来评估合金的时效行为。通过分析DSC曲线各个峰位对应的热流,得到了合金固态反应的相变分数(y)、相变速率(dy/dt)、相变函数(f(y))和动力学参数(活化能Q、频率因子k0)。结果表明:所得到的这些动力学参数与已有文献所报道的结果吻合较好。
