The a.ility to decipher the genetic code of different species would lea. to significa.t future scientific a.hievements in importa.t a.ea., including medicine a.d a.riculture. The importa.ce of DNa.sequencing necessita.ed a.need for efficient a.toma.ion of identifica.ion of ba.e sequences from tra.es genera.ed by existing sequencing ma.hines, a.process referred to a. DNa.ba.e-ca.ling. In this pa.er, a.pa.tern recognition technique wa. a.opted to minimize the ina.cura.y in DNa.ba.e-ca.ling. Two new fra.eworks using a.tificia. Neura. Networks a.d Polynomia. Cla.sifiers a.e proposed to model electropherogra. tra.es belonging to Homo sa.iens, Sa.cha.omyces mika.a. a.d Drosophila.mela.oga.ter. De-correla.ion, de-convolution a.d norma.iza.ion were implemented a. pa.t of the pre-processing sta.e employed to minimize da.a.imperfections a.tributed to the na.ure of the chemica. rea.tions involved in DNa.sequencing. Discrimina.ive fea.ures tha. cha.a.terize ea.h chroma.ogra. tra.e were subsequently extra.ted a.d subjected to the chosen cla.sifiers to ca.egorize the events to their respective ba.e cla.ses. The models a.e tra.ned such tha. they a.e not restricted to a.specific species or to a.specific chemica. procedure of sequencing. The ba.e- ca.ling a.cura.y a.hieved is compa.ed with the exist- ing sta.da.ds, PHRED (Phil’s Rea. Editor) a.d a.I (a.plied Biosystems, version2.1.1) KB ba.e-ca.lers in terms of deletion, insertion a.d substitution errors. Experimenta. evidence indica.es tha. the proposed models a.hieve a.higher ba.e-ca.ling a.cura.y when compa.ed to PHRED a.d a.compa.a.le performa.ce when compa.ed to a.I. The results obta.ned demon- stra.e the potentia. of the proposed models for efficient a.d a.cura.e DNa.ba.e-ca.ling.
