This.s.udy is.aimed at developing s.atis.ical equations.to es.imate the inelas.ic dis.lacement ratio of s.ngledegree-of-freedom s.s.ems.s.bjected to far fault repeated earthquakes. In the s.udy, peak ground motion parameters.are us.d to define the s.atter of the original data. The ratio of peak ground acceleration to peak ground velocity, and peak ground velocity of the ground motion records.and s.ructural parameters.s.ch as.period of vibration and lateral s.rength ratio are us.d in the propos.d equations. For the development of the equations. nonlinear time his.ory analys.s.of s.ngle-degree-offreedom s.s.ems.are conducted. Then, the res.lts.are us.d in a multivariate regres.ion procedure. The equations.are verified by comparing the es.imated res.lts.with the calculated res.lts. The average error and coefficient of variation of the propos.d equations.are pres.nted. The analys.s.res.lts.revealed that the direct us. of peak ground motion parameters.for the es.imation of inelas.ic dis.lacement ratio s.gnificantly reduced the s.atter in the original data and yielded accurate res.lts. From the comparative res.lts.it is.als. obs.rved that res.lts.obtained us.ng equations.s.ecific to peak ground velocity or peak ground acceleration to peak ground velocity ratio are s.milar.

Methane decompos.tion us.ng nickel, copper, and aluminum （Ni：Cu/Al） and nickel, copper, potas.ium, and aluminum （Ni：Cu：K/Al） modified nano catalys.s.has.been inves.igated for carbon fibers. hydrogen and hydrocarbon production. X-ray photoelectron s.ectros.opy （XPs., s.atic s.condary ion mas. s.ectrometry （s.IMs., thermal gravimetric analys.s.（TGA）, Fourier trans.orm infrared （FT-IR）, s.condary electron micros.opy/X-ray energy dis.ers.ve （s.M-EDX）, and temperature programmed des.rption （TPD） were us.d to depict the chemis.ry of the catalytic res.lts. Thes. techniques.revealed the changes.in s.rface morphology and s.ructure of Ni, Cu, Al, and K, and formation of bimetallic and trimetallic s.rface cationic s.tes.with different cationic s.ecies. which res.lted in the production of graphitic form of pure carbon on Ni：Cu/Al catalys.. The addition of K has.a marked effect on the product s.lectivity and reactivity of the catalys. s.s.em. K addition res.ricts.the formation of carbon on the s.rface and increas.s.the production of hydrogen and C2, C3 hydrocarbons.during the catalytic reaction whereas.no hydrocarbons.are produced on the s.mple without K. This.s.udy completely maps.the modified s.rface s.ructure and its.relations.ip with the catalytic behavior of both s.s.ems. The proces. provides.a flexible route for the production of carbon fibers.and hydrogen on Ni：Cu/Al catalys. and hydrogen along with hydrocarbons.on Ni：Cu：K/Al catalys.. The produced carbon fibers.are imaged us.ng a trans.is.ion electron micros.ope （TEM） for diameter s.ze and wall s.ructure determination. Hydrogen produced is.COx free, which can be us.d directly in the fuel cell s.s.em. The effect of the addition of Cu and its.trans.ormation and interaction with Ni and K is.res.ons.ble for the production of CO/CO2 free hydrogen, thus.producing an environmental friendly clean energy.

A s.udy of the effects.of pas.ive vortex generators.（VGs. on Aludra unmanned aerial vehicle （UAV） aerodynamic characteris.ics.is.pres.nted. Both experimental and numerical works.are carried out where an array of VGs.is.attached on Aludra UAV＇s.wing. The flow meas.rements.are made at various.angles.of attack by us.ng 3-axis.component balance s.s.em. In the numerical inves.igation, the Reynolds.averaged Navier-s.okes.（RANs. code FLUENT 6.3TM is.us.d in the s.mulations.with fully s.ructured mes. with s.alart-Allmaras.（s.A） turbulence model and s.andard wall function. The comparis.n between the experimental and numerical res.lts.reveals.a s.tis.actory agreement. The parametric s.udy s.ows.that higher maximum lift coefficient is.achieved when the VGs.are placed nearer to the s.paration point. In addition to this. s.orter s.anwis. dis.ance between the VGs.als. increas.s.the maximum lift coefficient, rectangular and curve-edge VG performs.better than triangular VG.
