Phylogenetic analyses based on mitochondrial genes were conducted to reconstruct species relationships within the aphid genus MoUitrichosiphum （Aphididae, Greenideinae）. MP and Bayesian analysis results using COI and Cyt b datasets, and combined MP, ML and Bayesian analysis of both were consistent with a morphologically supported monophyly. Subdivision of the genus into two subgenera was strongly supported. Samples of each included species form monophyletic clade, respectively; and the result implied the valid status of related species in this genus. These results suggest some surprising hypotheses regarding the phylogeography of the genus： the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau, reorganization of major fiver catchments and the isolation of Hainan Island were probably important factors contributing to the diversification of species in this genus .

Patterns of biodiversity and endemism are important and form the foundation for biogeography and conservation studies. Hormaphidinae is an aphid group mainly distributed in the Sino-Japanese, Oriental, and Nearctic zoogeographic realms. To infer the areas of endemism of Hormaphidinae aphids in the Sino-Japanese and Oriental realms, we employed a geographical distribution dataset covering all 225 species in subfamily Hormaphidinae. In total, 1,245 distribution occurrence records for all species were analyzed in addition to the number of species in a certain grid cell to calculate species richness. Two methods （parsimony analysis of endemicity （PAE） and the use of an optimization criterion-- NDMNNDM） using a total of 6 grid sizes were applied to detect possible areas of endemism and to assess the probable effects of the 2 different methods and 6 grid sizes on the results of the patterns of the areas of endemism. The results revealed that islands presented most of the areas with high species richness and endemic species, particularly Japan, Taiwan Island, Java Island, the Malaysian Peninsula, southeast Himalaya, and the Hengduan Mountains. Most of these areas of endemism were located on islands or a peninsula. Islands were therefore shown to play an essential role in facilitating the formation of high species richness and endemism. Different grid sizes directly determined the regions of the areas of endemism, with small grid sizes tending to detect small and discrete areas of endemism and large grid sizes identifying continuous areas of endemism. In terms of the two methods, NDM/VNDM was found to identify more areas of endemism than PAE.

As the second largest and most diverse group in the superfamily Aphidoidea,the phylogeny of drepanosiphine aphids sensu lato(s.l.)is critical for discussing the evolution of ***,the taxa composition and phylogenetic relationships of drepanosiphine aphids *** not been fully elucidated to *** this study,based on total-evidence analyses combining 4 molecular genes(3 mitochondrial,COI,tRNA-Leu/COII,and CytB;1 nuclear,EF-1A)and 64 morphological and biological characteristics,the phylogeny of this group was reconstructed for the first time at the subfamily level using different datasets,parsimonies and model-based *** of our phylogenetic inferences clearly indicated that the drepanosiphine aphids *** not a monophyletic group and seemed to support the division of the drepanosiphine aphids *** different groups classified at the subfamily *** was also not a monophyletic group,and Saltusaphidinae was nested within this *** was not clustered with Chaitophorinae,which was inconsistent with the previous hypothesis of a close relationship between them,illustrating that their phylogeny remains ***,some groups of drepanosiphine aphids s.l.,including Phyllaphidinae,Macropodaphidinae,Pterastheniinae,Lizeriinae,Drepanosiphinae,Spicaphidinae,Saltusaphidinae,and Calaphidinae,clustered together and might constitute the actual drepanosiphine aphids *** a certain extent,our results clarified the phylogenetic relationships among drepanosiphine aphids *** confirmed their taxonomic status as subfamilies.

Biological invasion is considered among the most important global environmental *** of the source and dispersal routes of invasion could facilitate the eradication and control of invasive *** aphid,Aphis glycines,is among the most destructive soybean *** effective management of this pest,we conducted genetic analyses and approximate Bayesian computation analysis to determine the origins and dispersal of the aphid species,as well as the source of its invasion in the USA,using 8 microsatellite loci and the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I *** were able to identify a significant isolation by distance pattern and 3 genetic lineages in the microsatellite data but not in the mtDNA *** genetic structure showed that the USA population had the closest relationship with those from Korea and Japan,indicating that the 2 latter populations might be the sources of the invasion to the *** population genetic analyses and approximate Bayesian computation showed that the northeastern populations in China were the possible sources of the further spread of *** to *** dispersal history of this aphid can provide useful information for pest management strategies and can further help predict areas at risk of invasion.

The history of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and the Himalayas(QTPH)region makes it a‘living laboratory'for understanding how the Earth's abiotic evolution has shaped regional ***,no studies to date have attempted to investigate general macro-scale biogeographical patterns and biogeographical affinities of the QTPH terrestrial fauna in a global *** on the analyses of the global distributions of QTPH Aphidomorpha species,we examined generalized distribution patterns for them and investigated the biogeographical affinities between the QTPH and other *** analysis and cluster analysis of the global distributions of 298 Aphidomorpha species in the QTPH identified seven generalized biogeographical tracks and eight general distribution *** approaches detected similarly generalized distribution *** marginal areas where the generalized tracks intersect,*** eastern Himalayas,the western Himalayas,the Hengduan Mountains,and the northeastern QTPH,were identified as biogeographical *** generalized distribution patterns indicate the biogeographical affinities between the QTPH and other regions and suggest the complex nature of the QTPH fauna.A spatial congruence between the nodes and diversity centres detected by previous studies indicates the four marginal areas have been key areas in fauna evolution as centres for faunal exchange as well as glacial *** on the biogeographical patterns,the geological history of the QTPH and the evolutionary history of Aphidomorpha,we propose an evolutionary scenario for the evolution of the QTPH aphid fauna in which faunal exchanges,vicariance due to the uplift of geographical barriers,environmental heterogeneity and Quarternary glaciations have shaped the diversity patterns and fauna in the QTPH.

Insects play important roles in the maintenance of ecosystem functioning and the provision of livelihoods for millions of ***,compared with terrestrial vertebrates and angiosperms,such as the giant panda,crested ibis,and the metasequoia,insect conservation has not attracted enough attention,and a basic understanding of the geographical biodiversity patterns for major components of insects in China is ***,we investigated the geographical distribution of insect biodiversity across multiple dimensions(taxonomic,genetic,and phylogenetic diversity)based on the spatial distribution and molecular DNA sequencing data of *** analysis included 18 orders,360 families,5,275 genera,and 14,115 species of *** results revealed that Southwestern and Southeastern China harbored higher insect biodiversity and numerous older lineages,representing a museum,whereas regions located in Northwestern China harbored lower insect biodiversity and younger lineages,serving as an evolutionary *** also observed that mean annual temperature and precipitation had significantly positive effects,whereas altitude had significantly negative effects on insect biodiversity in most ***,cultivated vegetation harbored the highest insect taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity,and needleleaf and broadleaf mixed forests harbored the highest insect genetic *** results indicated that human activities may positively contribute to insect spatial diversity on a regional *** study fills a knowledge gap in insect spatial diversity in *** findings could help guide national-level conservation plans and the post-2020 biodiversity conservation framework.

Insect mitochondrial （mt） genomes are of great interest in researching on molecular evolution, phylogenetics and population genetics. Aphidoidea have about more than 5 000 known species including some agricultural, forestry and horticultural pests. However, only nine complete mt genomes have been previously released in this insect group since the first one, Schizaphis graminum （Hemiptera： Aphididae： Aphidinae） in 2004. Herein, we present the complete mitochondrial genome of Eriosoma lanigerum, the first species from the subfamily Eriosomatinae. This study takes this species as an example, combing the research during past 12 years, and concludes the general methods to obtain, analyze and annotate the complete mitochondrial genome of aphid species.
