Quest for the best endoscopic imaging modality for computer-assisted colonic polyp staging

BACKGROUND It was shown in previous studies that high definition endoscopy, high magnification endoscopy and image enhancement technologies, such as chromoendoscopy and digital chromoendoscopy [narrow-band imaging(NBI), iScan] facilitate the detection and classification of colonic polyps during endoscopic sessions. However, there are no comprehensive studies so far that analyze which endoscopic imaging modalities facilitate the automated classification of colonic polyps. In this work, we investigate the impact of endoscopic imaging modalities on the results of computer-assisted diagnosis systems for colonic polyp *** To assess which endoscopic imaging modalities are best suited for the computerassisted staging of colonic *** In our experiments, we apply twelve state-of-the-art feature extraction methods for the classification of colonic polyps to five endoscopic image databases of colonic lesions. For this purpose, we employ a specifically designed experimental setup to avoid biases in the outcomes caused by differing numbers of images per image database. The image databases were obtained using different imaging modalities. Two databases were obtained by high-definition endoscopy in combination with i-Scan technology(one with chromoendoscopy and one without chromoendoscopy). Three databases were obtained by highmagnification endoscopy(two databases using narrow band imaging and one using chromoendoscopy). The lesions are categorized into non-neoplastic and neoplastic according to the histological *** Generally, it is feature-dependent which imaging modalities achieve high results and which do not. For the high-definition image databases, we achieved overall classification rates of up to 79.2% with chromoendoscopy and 88.9% without chromoendoscopy. Transfer function analysis and implementation of active disturbance rejection control

To support the adoption of active disturbance rejeetion control(ADRC)in industrial practice,this article aims at improv-ing both understanding and implementation of ADRC using traditional means,in particular via transfer functions and a frequency-domain ***,to enable an immediate comparability with existing classical control solutions,a realizable transfer function implementation of continous-time linear ADRC is ***,a frequency-domain analysis of ADRC components,performance,parameter sensitivity,and tuning method is ***,an exact implementation of discrete-time ADRC using transfer functions is introduced for the first time,with special emphasis on practical aspects such as computational fficiency,low parameter *** windup protection.

Tuning and implementation variants of discrete-time ADRC

Practical implementations of active disturbance rejection control(ADRC)will almost always take place in discretized *** applications may have quite different needs regarding their discrete-time controllers,this article summarizes and extends the available set of ADRC implementations to provide a suitable variant for as many as possible use *** doing so,the gap between quasi-continuous and discrete-time controller tuning is closed for applications with low sampling *** main contribution of this article is the derivation of three different discrete-time implementations of error-based *** is shown that these are almost one-to-one counterparts of existing output-based implementations,to the point where transfer functions and coefficients can be reused in unaltered *** this way,error-based implementations become firmly rooted in the established landscape of discrete-time ***,it becomes possible to equip error-based variants with windup protection abilities known from output-based ADRC.

In this work,we investigate two specific linear ADRC structures,namely output-and *** former is considered a“standard”version of ADRC,a title obtained primarily thanks to its simplicity and effectiveness,which have spurred its adoption across multiple *** latter is found to be especially appealing to practitioners as its feedback error-driven structure bares similarities to conventional control solutions,like PI and *** this paper,we describe newly found connections between the two considered ADRC structures,which allowed us to formally establish conditions for their ***,the conducted comprehensive performance comparison between output-and error-based ADRCs has facilitated the identification of specific modules within them,which can now be conveniently used as building blocks,thus aiding the control designers in customizing ADRC-based solutions and making them most suitable for their applications.

Addition of Ptyas nigromarginata (Blyth,1854) (Squamata:Colubridae) to the Snake Fauna of Thailand with Preliminary Remarks on Its Distribution

The first record of Ptyas nigromarginata （Blyth, 1854） from Thailand and a new record from China are reported. Literature and internet sources were searched for previous records of this species to establish its geographic and altitudinal distributions in Asia. The distribution in India was adapted to the new state division of the northern part of the country. The results show that the species almost exclusively occurs in hill evergreen and montane forests of the Himalayan foothills and mountain ranges continuous with it, at altitudes of 1000-2300 m above sea level.

While considerable progress has been made in the taxonomic studies of the genus Lycodon in Asia,questions remain to be clarified regarding the taxonomy of certain groups,particularly those containing species in *** only do many regions in China remain overlooked by herpetologists,resulting in the possibility of undiscovered new species,but the surveyed areas also have suspicious records of recognized congeners that require taxonomic *** both morphological and genetic data,we tackle these outstanding issues in the taxonomy of Lycodon in *** particular,we discover two new species of Lycodon:one from the previously neglected hot-dry valley in the northern Hengduan Mountain Region close to Tibet,and another recluse and cryptic species from the *** complex in the downtown park of a major city in southern Sichuan ***,we clarify the distribution of *** in China and resurrect and elevate its junior synonym subspecies,Dinodon septentrionale chapaense,as a full,valid species,and we synonymize the recently described *** to the resurrected *** ***..Lycodon chapaensis *** represents a new national record of reptilian fauna of ***,based on literature review,we also correct some of the erroneous records of *** and *** in China,point out remaining taxonomic issues of the genus for future research,and update the dichotomous key and distribution of the 20 species of Lycodon currently recorded from China.

In order to ensure consistent argon flow in the stopper gas channel and improve argon bubble performance in the slab casting mould,two patented new technologies CSC（Clean Stream Cartridge） and SHP（Slot Hole Plug） were applied in the argon purging stopper *** novel stopper designs can maintain a stable back pressure and argon flow in the argon line during long sequence casting,eliminate pressure increasing at the start of the casting,even distribute gas bubbles in the mould leading to improved mould flux melting and lubrication,reduce mould level fluctuation and so on.

A New Species of Trimeresurus Lacépède, 1804(Squamata: Viperidae) from Southwestern China, Vietnam, Thailand and Myanmar

The pit vipers of the genus Trimeresurus Lacépède, 1804 is one of the largest groups of Asian snakes, distributed from India to China and Indonesia. Recent surveys in Jiangcheng and Simao, Yunnan Province, China resulted in a new species previously allocated to T. albolabris. Combining morphological and molecular data, we describe it as Trimeresurus guoi sp. nov. The new species morphologically differs from T. albolabris in the yellow green ventral color;an indistinct ventrolateral line;the a bsence of a postocular stripe;the firebrickred iris;a dark red stripe on dorsal tail;hemipenes with relatively weak sparse papillae, reaching 23 rd subcaudal when unextruded. Molecularly, the new species forms a clearly divergent lineage(BPP 1.00/UFB 100). Uncorrected pairwise distances of mitochondrial gene Cyt b between the new species and other known species of the subgenus Trimeresurus range from 0.052(T. albolabris) to 0.071(T. insularis).

Bispecific T-cell-engaging antibodies(BiTEs)convey antigenic information from cancer to the T-lymphocyte-associated CD3 complex,thus redirecting immune effector cells to induce target cell *** antigenic information from transformed tissues is rarely unambiguous,we recently introduced novel T-cell-engaging antibody fragments called hemibodies for the combinatorial,ultraprecise targeting of cancer.1 Here,we report the unprecedented enhancement of the plasticity of immunological synapse(IS)formation and variant signaling topology at the cancer cell–T-cell interface induced by hemibodies compared to that induced by BiTEs.
