Biometric authentication is a rapidly growing trend that is gaining increasing attention in the last decades.It achieves safe access to systems using biometrics instead of the traditional passwords.The utilization of a biometric in its original format makes it usable only once.Therefore,a cancelable biometric template should be used,so that it can be replaced when it is attacked.Cancelable biometrics aims to enhance the security and privacy of biometric authentication.Digital encryption is an efficient technique to be used in order to generate cancelable biometric templates.In this paper,a highly-secure encryption algorithm is proposed to ensure secure biometric data in verification systems.The considered biometric in this paper is the speech signal.The speech signal is transformed into its spectrogram.Then,the spectrogram is encrypted using two cascaded optical encryption algorithms.The first algorithm is the Optical Scanning Holography(OSH)for its efficiency as an encryption tool.The OSH encrypted spectrogram is encrypted using Double Random Phase Encoding(DRPE)by implementing two Random Phase masks(RPms).After the two cascaded optical encryption algorithms,the cancelable template is obtained.The verification is implemented through correlation estimation between enrolled and test templates in their encrypted format.If the correlation value is larger than a threshold value,the user is authorized.The threshold value can be determined from the genuine and imposter correlation distribution curves as the midpoint between the two curves.The implementation of optical encryption is adopted using its software rather than the optical setup.The efficiency of the proposed cancelable biometric algorithm is illustrated by the simulation results.It can improve the biometric data security without deteriorating the recognition accuracy.Simulation results give close-to-zero This values for the Equal Error Rate(EER)and close-to-one values for the Area under Receiver Operator Characteristic(AROC)curve.

Framework for COVID-19 Segmentation and Classification Based on Deep Learning of Computed Tomography Lung Images

Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19) has affected millions of people worldwide and caused more than6.3 million deaths(World Health Organization, June 2022). Increased attempts have been made to develop deep learning methods to diagnose COVID-19 based on computed tomography(CT) lung images. It is a challenge to reproduce and obtain the CT lung data, because it is not publicly available. This paper introduces a new generalized framework to segment and classify CT images and determine whether a patient is tested positive or negative for COVID-19 based on lung CT images. In this work, many different strategies are explored for the classification ***50 and VGG16 models are applied to classify CT lung images into COVID-19 positive or negative. Also,VGG16 and ReNet50 combined with U-Net, which is one of the most used architectures in deep learning for image segmentation, are employed to segment CT lung images before the classifying process to increase system performance. moreover, the image size dependent normalization technique(ISDNT) and Wiener filter are utilized as the preprocessing techniques to enhance images and noise suppression. Additionally, transfer learning and data augmentation techniques are performed to solve the problem of COVID-19 CT lung images deficiency, therefore the over-fitting of deep models can be avoided. The proposed frameworks, which comprised of end-to-end, VGG16,ResNet50, and U-Net with VGG16 or ResNet50, are applied on the dataset that is sourced from COVID-19 lung CT images in Kaggle. The classification results show that using the preprocessed CT lung images as the input for U-Net hybrid with ResNet50 achieves the best performance. The proposed classification model achieves the 98.98%accuracy(ACC), 98.87% area under the ROC curve(AUC), 98.89% sensitivity(Se), 97.99 % precision(Pr), 97.88%F-score, and 1.8974-seconds computational time.

Al-Nakheel beach is located northwest of Alexandria city,Egypt,along the mediterranean coast.During the period from 1998 to 2003,seven detached breakwaters were constructed along Al-Nakheel beach to create a sheltered area for swimming.Unfortunately,the structures amplify rip currents,shoreline accretions,and erosions.The aim of this research is to track the variations of the rip currents within the study area and show the effects of the breakwaters on the shoreline.The research is based on the hydrodynamic and morphological data of the study area and uses the Delft3D hydrodynamical model combined with other data analysis tools to serve the model input.The data include measured sea-level observations in 2013,the ERA-interim wave datasets from 2015 to 2018 and wind data in 2018,bed morphologies,and Google Earth satellite images from 2010 to 2020.The model is calibrated on the basis of the available current measurements within the nearshore zone.Results show that the shoreline eroded at an average rate of about 0.9 m/yr.moreover,pairs of vortices are formed behind the breakwaters with an average current velocity of 0.6 m/s.The predominant northwest waves induce rip currents on the leeside of the structures with velocities reaching 1.2 m/s,associated with the rip pulsation that extends offshore.The problem solution decision recommends the removal of the sand deposition on the leeside of the breakwaters by an average amount of 100000 m3/yr and the fencing of the safe area for swimming by a floating fence of 1000 m length and 65 m average width.

The burning of agricultural waste is a major cause of environmental pollution.In this study,we sought to prepare biochar from agricultural waste as a source material for the preparation of carbon nanoparticles(CNPs).Surface morphology,hydrodynamic particle size,and purity and crystallinity of CNPs were extensively investigated using transmission electron microscopy(TEm),zeta sizing,and X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,respectively.The CNPs were subsequently immersed in a solution of potassium nitrate(KNO_(3))to prepare a CNPs/NK nanocomposite(CNPs loaded with nitrogen(N)and potassium(K))as a nanocomposite fertilizer for common bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.).The CNPs/NK nanocomposite was sprayed as a foliar fertilizer at 0,10,20,30,and 40 mg L^(-1) on common bean plants 25 d after sowing on a farm in Shebin El-Kom,El-monifia,Egypt.The growth,yield,and quality of common bean were investigated during two successive growing seasons(2017 and 2018).The highest seed yields of 2.04 and 2.01 t ha^(-1) and the highest values of growth parameters including plant height of 61.5 and 59.2 cm,number of leaves per plant of 35 and 35,number of flowers per plant of 83.3 and 82.7,and plant fresh weight of 148.7 and 152.8 g plant^(-1) were obtained when using the CNPs/NK nanocomposite at a concentration of 20 mg L^(-1) during the 2017 and 2018 growing seasons,respectively.

In this article,semi-analytical and numerical simulations of the well-known modified Benjamin-Bona-mahony(mBBm)equation are processed.This study targets to check the accuracy of the obtained analytical solutions of the mBBm model that have been obtained in[1]through three recent analytical schemes(extended simplest equation(ESE)method,modified kudryashov(mKud)method,and SechTanh(ST)expansion method).The considered model describes the propagation of long waves in the nonlinear dispersive media in a visual illusion.The Homotopy iteration(HI)method,exponential cubic-B-spline(ECBS)method,and trigonometric-quantic-B-spline(TQBS)method are employed to construct novel semi-analytical and accurate numerical solutions.The obtained solutions’accuracy has been checked through some different types of two-dimensional graphs.

This article studies novel soliton wave solutions of the nonlinear fractional ill-posed Boussinesq(NLFIPB)dynamic wave equation by applying the extended Riccati-expansion(ERE)method.Jacques Hadamard has formulated the investigated model to figure out the dynamic characterizations of waves in shallow water under gravity.The obtained solutions are explained through some sketches in 2D and 3D and contour plots.At the same time,the results’accuracy is checked by comparing the obtained solutions with semianalytical solutions through the well-known Adomian decomposition(AD)method.The superiority of the ERE method over the original method is explained.All constructed solutions are checked by submitting them back into the original model through mathematica 12 software.

Current and novel modalities for management of chronic hepatitis B infection

Over 296 million people are estimated to have chronic hepatitis B viral infection(CHB),and it poses unique challenges for elimination.CHB is the result of hepatitis B virus(HBV)-specific immune tolerance and the presence of covalently closed circular DNA as mini chromosome inside the nucleus and the integrated HBV.Serum hepatitis B core-related antigen is the best surrogate marker for intrahepatic covalently closed circular DNA.Functional HBV“cure”is the durable loss of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg),with or without HBsAg seroconversion and undetectable serum HBV DNA after completing a course of treatment.The currently approved therapies are nucleos(t)ide analogues,interferon-alpha,and pegylated-interferon.With these therapies,functional cure can be achieved inmmune system that disrupts the interaction between them can lead to reactivation of HBV.Novel therapies may allow efficient control of CHB.They include direct acting antivirals and immunomodulators.Reduction of the viral antigen load is a crucial factor for success of immune-based therapies.Immunomodulatory therapy may lead to modulation of the host immune system.It may enhance/restore innate immunity against HBV(as toll-like-receptors and cytosolic retinoic acid inducible geneⅠagonist).Others may induce adaptive immunity as checkpoint inhibitors,therapeutic HBV vaccines including protein(HBsAg/pre S and hepatitis B core antigen),monoclonal or bispecific antibodies and genetically engineered T cells to generate chimeric antigen receptor-T or T-cell receptor-T cells and HBV-specific T cells to restore T cell function to efficiently clear HBV.Combined therapy may successfully overcome immune tolerance and lead to HBV control and cure.Immunotherapeutic approaches carry the risk of overshooting immune responses causing uncontrolled liver damage.The safety of any new curative therapies should be measured in relation to the excellent safety of currently approved nucleos(t)ide analogues.Development of novel

Integrating Appreciative Inquiry （AI） into architectural pedagogy： An assessment experiment of three retrofitted buildings in the city of Glasgow

Recently there has been a growing trend to encourage learning outside the classrooms, socalled ＇universities without walls.＇ To this end, mechanisms for learning beyond the boundaries of classroom settings can provide enhanced and challenging learning opportunities. This paper introduces Appreciative Inquiry （AI） as a mechanism that integrates various forms of inquiry into learning. AI is operationalized as a Walking Tour assessment project which was introduced as part of the class Cultural end Beheviourel Fectors in Architecture and Urbanism delivered at the Department of Architecture, University of Strathclyde - Glasgow where thirty-two master of Architecture students were enrolled. The Walking Tour assessment involved the exploration of 6 factors that delineate key design characteristics in three retrofitted buildings in Glasgow： Theatre Royal, Reid Building, and The Lighthouse. Working in groups, students assessed factors that included context, massing, interface, wayfinding, socio-spatial, and comfort. Findings reveal that students were able to focus on critical issues that go beyond those adopted in traditional teaching practices while accentuating the value of introducing AI and utilizing the built environment as an educational medium. Conclusions are drawn to emphasize the need for structured learning experiences that enable making judgments about building qualities while effectively interrogating various characteristics.

本文通过无模板水热法在100°C条件下制备了Na P沸石分子筛,并研究了Na2O/Si O2和Si O2/Al2O3摩尔比、凝胶老化时间和老化温度等参数,以调节最终产品的结晶度.不同合成阶段的样品,用-196°C氮吸附、场发射扫描电子显微镜(FE-SEm)、氨程序升温脱附、X-射线衍射、热重和差示扫描量热分析以及傅里叶变换红外光谱法进行了表征.实验结果表明,在Na2O/Si O2和Si O2/Al2O3摩尔比分别为1.10和1.40,100°C温度下老化4天,可以获得高度有序结晶化的Na P分子筛.FE-SEm图像显示Na P分子筛的多晶聚集体晶粒尺寸可达5.04μm,具有仙人掌/卷心菜样结构.定量分析发现酸位点总数随Na2O的增加而增加,Na2O/Si O2摩尔比为1.13的Na P沸石样品与1.10摩尔比合成的样品相比,在外表面上具有大量的酸位点.优化后的Na P分子筛在水溶液中具有优异的钙离子吸附性能,本文对钙离子吸附动力学参数进行了详细研究.

Rudists(Bivalvia) from a Cretaceous Platform in Northern Egypt: Taxonomy and Paleobiogeography

New well-preserved rudist materials come from the Barremian–Turonian marine formations in the Yelleg, minsherah, maaza, and Raghawi sections in North Sinai, northern Egypt. There, 17 discovered rudist species belonging to 13 genera and seven taxonomic families are described in detail as follows: Eoradiolites plicatus(Conrad), Eoradiolites liratus(Conrad), Praeradiolites ponsianus(d'Archiac), Archaeoradiolites sp., Bournonia africana Douvillé, Bournonia fourtaui Douville, Biradiolites lombricalis(d'Orbigny), Biradiolites zumoffeni Douville, Radiolites lewyi lewyi Parnes, Radiolites sauvagesi(d'Hombres-Firmas), Durania arnaudi(Choffat), Toucasia carinata(matheron), Toucasia sp., Neocaprina raghawiensis Steuber and Bachmann, Sellaea sp., Ichthyosarcolites sp. and Horoiopleura sp.. The Cenomanian deposits in the northern Eastern desert of Egypt only contain E. liratus. The domination of the Cenomanian rudist species in North Sinai, however, is attributed to changes in the platform, which passes mainly from carbonate in the north to siliciclastics in the south. The presence of Horiopleura sp. in the late Barremian-early Aptian deposits is documented for the first time, which suggests the expansion of taxa of the genus Horiopleura Douville to North Sinai during this interval. The age of the rudist species is documented from the late Barremian-Turonian formations, with their geographic distribution in the mediterranean region considered..
