Populations experiencing negligible predation pressure are expected to evolve higher behavioral ***,when sexes have different expected benefits from high activity,the adaptive shift is expected to be ***,we compared movement activity of one cave(lack of predation)and three adjacent surface(high and diverse predation)populations of Asellus aquaticus,a freshwater isopod known for its independent colonization of several caves across *** predicted 1)higher activity in cave than in surface populations,with 2)the difference being more pronounced in males as they are known for active mate searching behavior,while females are *** was assessed both in the presence and absence of *** results supported both predictions:movement activity was higher in the cave than in the surface populations,particularly in *** predation pressure in the cave-adapted population is most likely the main selective factor behind increased behavioral activity,but we also showed that the extent of increase is sex-specific.

The Medves Area lies close to the Hungarian-Slovak boundary in North Hungary. Having 'horst-graben-type' geological structure it can be characterised by steeply emerging horst-like hills and between them narrow trenches and deeply dissected erosional valleys. The recent morphology of the Medves Area is determined by four main elements: the structure, the petrographic setting, the exo-genic processes and the anthropogenic effects. In spite of the domination of the Oligocene-Miocene sedimentary rocks great part of the area is covered by Pliocene basalts having either stratovolcanic structure or consisting of only lavas, forming lavaplateaus, small cones, dykes or necks. In spite of the strong denudation their original form dominates yet. The decrease of the sheet of the Medves Plateau was considerable only on the rims by parallel retreat. In the southern part of the Medves Area the evolution of the landscape was determined mainly by exogenic processes. The great density of the valleys is very significant,

Background： After their death, Scots pine trees can remain standing for decades and sometimes up to 200 years,forming long-lasting and ecologically important structures in boreal forest landscapes. Standing dead pines decay very slowly and with time develop into ‘kelo＇ trees, which are characterized by hard wood with silvery-colored appearance. These kelo trees represent an ecologically important, long lasting and visually striking element of the structure of natural pine-dominated forests in boreal Fennoscandia that is nowadays virtually absent from managed forest ***： We examined and mapped the amount, structural features, site characteristics and spatial distribution of dead standing pine trees over a ten hectare area in an unmanaged boreal forest landscape in the Kalevala National Park in Russian Viena ***： The mean basal area of dead standing pine trees in the forested part of the landscape was 1.7 m^2·ha^-1 and the estimated volume 12.7 m^3·ha^-1. From the total number of standing dead pine trees 65% were kelo trees, with a basal area of 1.1 m^2·ha^-1 and volume of 8.0 m^3·ha^-1, the remainder consisting of standing dead pines along the continuum between a recently dead tree and a kelo tree. Overall, standing dead pines were distributed throughout the study area, but there was a tendency towards spatial clustering up to 〈100 m distances. Standing dead pines were most commonly situated on flat ground or in the mid slope in the local *** addition, standing dead pines contributed to substrate diversity also by commonly having charred wood and broken tops. Purpose-The purpose of this paper is to show an efficient method for the detection of signs of early lung *** image processing algorithms are presented for different types of lesions,and a scheme is proposed for the combination of ***/methodology/approach-A computer aided detection(CAD)scheme was developed for detection of lung *** enables different lesion enhancer algorithms,sensitive to specific lesion subtypes,to be used *** image processing algorithms are presented for the detection of small nodules,large ones,and infiltrated *** outputs are merged,the false detection rate is reduced with four separated support vector machine(SVM)*** classifier input comes from a feature selection algorithm selecting from various textural and geometric features.A total of 761 images were used for testing,including the database of the Japanese Society of Radiological Technology(JSRT).Findings-The fusion of algorithms reduced false positives on average by 0.6 per image,while the sensitivity remained 80 per *** the JSRT database the system managed to find 60.2 per cent of lesions at an average of 2.0 false positives per *** effect of using different result evaluation criteria was tested and a difference as high as 4 percentage points in sensitivity was *** system was compared to other published ***/value-The study described in the paper proves the usefulness of lesion enhancement decomposition,while proposing a scheme for the fusion of ***,a new algorithm is introduced for the detection of infiltrated areas,possible signs of lung cancer,neglected by previous solutions.

Robots of today are eager to leave constrained industrial environments and embrace unexplored and unstructured areas, for extensive applications in the real world as service and social robots. Hence, in addition to these new physical frontiers, they must face human ones, too. This implies the need to consider a human-robot interaction from the beginning oft_he design; the possibility for a robot to recognize users＇ emotions and, in a certain way, to properly react and ＂behave＂. This could play a fundamental role in their integration in society. However, this capability is still far from being achieved. Over the past decade, several attempts to implement automata for different applications, outside of the industry, have been pursued. But very few applications have tried to consider the emotional state of users in the behavioural model of the robot, since it raises questions such as： how should human emotions be modelled for a correct representation of their state of mind？ Which sensing modalities and which classification methods could be the most feasible to obtain this desired knowl- edge？ Furthermore, which applications are the most suitable for the robot to have such sensitivity？ In this context, this paper aims to provide a general overview of recent attempts to enable robots to recognize human emotions and interact properly.

Various types of ground baits are loaded to lakes by anglers,but the ecological role of these materials is often ***,the aims of this study were to conduct a quantitative and qualitative assessment of the baits used by anglers in the largest lake of Central-Europe(Lake balaton,Hungary),estimate the annual nutrient balance of recreational fishing,and relate the nutrient loading from this source to the total external *** study demonstrated that popular angler baits varied substantially in their nutrient contents and in their molar nitrogen to phosphorus(N:P)*** net nutrient balance of recreational fishing was+19.3 t total N year^(-1)and+5.2 t total P year^(-1),equivalent to 0.7%and 3.2%of the estimated total annual N and P loads,*** rate of nutrient loading may be doubled if the present trends continue:anglers will use 20%more bait with an even higher nutrient content and will also show higher propensity to release the fish after *** turn,sustainable nutrient balance of fisheries management could be achieved by limiting the anglers’bait use to 1.5 kg day^(-1)and restricting baits to those which have relatively low P(<0.3%)and N(<1.5%)contents.
