The Yelapa-Chimo Metamorphic Complex forms part of the Jalisco Block in western Mexico and exposes a wide range of Early Cretaceous metamorphic rocks;such as paragneiss,orthogneiss,amphibolites,and ***,the pressure-temperature(P-T)conditions of metamorphism and partial melting remain poorly studied in the *** elucidate metamorphic P-T conditions,phase equilibrium modelling was applied to two sillimanite-garnet paragneisses,one amphibole-orthogneiss,and one ***-garnet paragneisses exhibit a lepidoblastic texture with a biotite+sillimanite+kyanite+garnet+quartz+plagioclase+K-feldspar mineral ***-orthogneiss and amphibolite display a nematoblastic texture with an amphibole+(1)plagioclase+quartz+(1)titanite assemblage and an amphibole+(2)plagioclase+(2)titanite+ilmenite retrograde mineral *** calculated for the two sillimanite-garnet paragneiss samples show P-T peak conditions at~6-7.5 kbar and~725-740℃.The results for amphibole-orthogneiss and the amphibolite yield P-T peak conditions at~8.5-10 kbar and~690-710℃.The mode models imply that metasedimentary and metaigneous units can produce up to~20 vol%and~10 vol%of melt,*** within a closed system during isobaric heating suggests that melt compositions of metasedimentary and metaigneous units are likely to have direct implications for the petrogenesis of the Puerto Vallarta *** new data indicate that the Yelapa-Chimo Metamorphic Complex evolved through a metamorphic gradient between~23-33℃km^-1and the metamorphic rocks formed at depths between~22 km and~30 km with a burial rate of~2.0 km Ma^-***,the P-T data for both metasedimentary and metaigneous rocks provide new constraints on an accretionary framework,which is responsible for generating metamorphism and partial melting in the YelapaChimo Metamorphic Complex during the Early Cretaceous.

Association of TCf7L2 mutation and atypical diabetes in a Uruguayan population

AIM To investigate if mutations in TCf7 L2 are associated with "atypical diabetes" in the Uruguayan *** Healthy, nondiabetic controls(n = 133) and patients with type 2 diabetes(n = 177) were selected from among the presenting population at level-3 referral healthcare centers in Uruguay. Patients with type 2 diabetes were subgrouped according to "atypical diabetes"(n = 92) and "classical diabetes"(n = 85). Genotyping for the rs12255372 and rs7903146 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in the TCfTL2 gene was carried out with Taq Man? probes. Random samples were sequenced by Macrogen Ltd.(South Korea). Statistical analysis of the SNP data was carried out with the SNPStats online tool(http://***/SNPstats). The best inheritance model was chosen according to the lowest values of Akaike's information criterion and Bayesian information criterion. Differences between groups were determined by unpaired t-tests after checking the normal distribution or were converted to normalize the data. The association of SNPs was tested for matched case-control samples by using χ2 analysis and calculation of odds ratios(ORs) with 95% confidence intervals(CIs). All statistical tests were performed using SPSS v10.0 and EpiI nfo7 statistical packages. Significant statistical differences were assumed in all cases showing adjusted P f7 L2 SNPs(rs7903146 and rs12255372) in a population-based sample of 310 Uruguayan subjects, including 133 healthy control subjects and 177 clinical diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. for both SNPs analyzed, the best model was the dominant type: rs12255372 = G/G vs G/T+T/T, OR = 0.63, 95%CI: 0.40-0.98, P < 0.05 and rs7903146 = C/C vs C/T+T/T, OR = 0.79, 95%CI: 0.41-1.55, P = 0.3. New perspectives in the treatment of advanced or metastatic gastric cancer

Metastatic gastric cancer remains an incurable disease,with a relative 5-year survival rate of 7%-27%.Chemotherapy,which improves overall survival(OS) and quality of life,is the main treatment *** has demonstrated that the best survival results obtained in earlier randomized studies were achieved with three-drug regimens containing a fluoropyrimidine,an anthracycline,and cisplatin(ECf).Although there has been little progress in improving median OS times beyond the 9-mo plateau achievable with the standard regimens,the availability of newer agents has provided some measure of optimism.A number of new combinations incorporating docetaxel,oxaliplatin,capecitabine,and S-1 have been explored in randomized *** combinations,such as epirubicin-oxaliplatin-capecitabine,have been shown to be as effective as(or perhaps more effective than) ECf,and promising early data have been derived for S-1 in combination with *** factor that might contribute to extending median OS is the advancement whenever possible to second-line cytotoxic ***,the biggest hope for signif icant survival advances in the near future would be the combination of new targeted biological agents with existing chemotherapy f irst-line regimens.

Resistance to the Whitefly Aleurotrachelus socialis(Hemiptera:Aleyrodidae) and SSR Marker Identification in Advanced Populations of the Hybrid Manihot esculenta *** flabellifolia

Genes resistant to Aleurotrachelus socialis were transferred to the f 1 from the interspecific hybrid wild species of Manihot flabellifolia to *** and two advanced generations of backcrosses（BC 1 and BC 2）.We characterized the resistance of *** transferred to BC 2 parents（CW67-160,CW67-130,CW67-44）,MTAI-8（BC 1）,resistant（CMB9B-73） and susceptible（CMB9B-104） genotypes from contrasting pools,and resistant（MEcu-72） and susceptible（CMC-40） *** demography and biology were *** molecular markers associated with a phenotypic response of plant resistance were detected in segregating populations（BC 2）.Results showed that although female survival time was similar on all hosts,the lowest averages of longevity,fecundity and oviposition rate were observed in the resistant control MEcu- 72,only being significantly similar to the parent *** the BC 1 and BC 2 populations were compared,it was found that *** fecundity was eight times lower on CMB9B-73 progeny than on CW67-130,expressing the highest levels of resistance to the *** genotypes of CMB9A and CMB9B family had the best segregation.A total of 486 microsatellite primers were evaluated using bulked segregant analysis（BSA）,11 showed polymorphism between the contrasting pools and only one showed significant differences between resistant and susceptible *** conclusion,fecundity was the parameter that impacted most on the intrinsic rate of *** population growth.

Modeling and multi-objective optimization of a gasoline engine using neural networks and evolutionary algorithms

In this paper, a multi-objective particle swarm optimization （MOPSO） algorithm and a nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II （NSGA-II） are used to optimize the operating parameters of a 1.6 L, spark ignition （SI） gasoline engine. The aim of this optimization is to reduce engine emissions in terms of carbon monoxide （CO）, hydrocarbons （HC）, and nitrogen oxides （NOx）, which are the causes of diverse environmental problems such as air pollution and global warming. Stationary engine tests were performed for data generation, covering 60 operating conditions. Artificial neural networks （ANNs） were used to predict exhaust emissions, whose inputs were from six engine operating parameters, and the outputs were three resulting exhaust emissions. The outputs of ANNs were used to evaluate objective functions within the optimization algorithms： NSGA-II and MOPSO. Then a decision-making process was conducted, using a fuzzy method to select a Pareto solution with which the best emission reductions can be achieved. The NSGA-II algorithm achieved reductions of at least 9.84%, 82.44%, and 13.78% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively. With a MOPSO algorithm the reached reductions were at least 13.68%, 83.80%, and 7.67% for CO, HC, and NOx, respectively.
