Burns in the elderly:a nationwide study on management and clinical outcomes

Online SPE-LC-mS（XLC-mS） provides a powerful tool for automatically analyzing food samples in a single uninterrupted work flow, giving better precision, higher sample throughput, and improved data traceability. With a specially designed high-pressure cartridge clamping device in the cartridge exchanger, this XLC-mS system offers a very high degree of automation. Samples can be thoroughly cleaned up, thus ion suppression/enhancement effect for mS detection is eliminated / minimized. To determine melamine in raw milk, milk（μL level） was loaded onto a SPE cartridge（Length x id.: 10 x 2 mm） and cleaned up with a wash solvent before the whole amount of melamine trapped on the cartridge was eluted directly onto the analytical column with the mobile phase. Calibration curve from 1.00 ng/m L to 100.00 ng/m L of melamine in milk was obtained with regression coefficient of 0.9989. %CV was found to be around 4.0%, and recovery data between 85% and 110%. methods for detecting veterinary drug residues or other harmful compounds in meat, egg, and milk, as well as other food stuff were also developed and discussed, which demonstrated the high-throughput capacity of this Symbiosis XLC system.

＜正＞ We hypothesized that cyclic nucleotide-dependent pathways are pivotal for hypox-ia-induced coronary relaxation. Large pig coronary artery segments were mounted in myographs for isometric tension recording. Arteries were contracted with either K + or PGF2α and in the absence and presence of a protein kinase A （PKA） inhibitor or a K-channel-blocker, respectively, oxygen was gradually reduced （95%-0% ）. Intracellular calcium （[Ca2+]ic） was measured using Fura-2-Am. Following PGF2α（10-5m） contraction, arteries relaxed in proportion to the level of hypoxia. An inhibitor of PKA, Rp-CPT-cAmPS （100μm）, reduced hypoxic relaxation. Hypoxic relaxation was diminished by a blocker of BKCa2+-channels, Iberiotoxin （100 nm）, a blocker of KV-channels, 4-aminopyridine （0.5mm） and in arteries contracted with 30mm K+,respectively. Only a minor reduction was found with a blocker of KATP-channels, Glibenclamide （3x10-6m）. Hy-poxiainduced relaxation was associated with reduced [Ca2+]ic in PGF2α contracted arteries but not in 30mm K+ contracted arteries. Hypoxia relaxes coronary arteries by activation of PKA and by opening of potassium channels following lowering of [Ca2+]ic. Desensitization contributes to hypoxic relaxation.

The present work aims at the microstructural characterization of TiAlZrN/ Al2O3 and TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings deposited via lateral rotating cathodes. The coatings were deposited using Lateral Rotating Cathodes (LARC) technology. The deposited coatings were studied for its cross sectional morphology using scanning electron microscopy. Energy Dispersive Spectrometry was also conducted along the cross section to determine the elemental composition. micro Vickers hardness test was conducted to determine the hardness of the coatings. The scanning electron microscope images showed that TiAlZrN/Al2O3 coatings showed preferred columnar grain orientation with multilayered structure while TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings exhibit a dense grain structure. The TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coating shows a hardness of 31.58 GPa while TiAlZrN/Al2O3 coating shows a hardness of 25.40 GPa. Dry turning tests were performed on AISI 304 stainless steel. The TiAlZrN/Si3N4 coatings show reduced flank wear. Both the coatings even under severe cutting conditions impart surface roughness of less than 1.5 μm.
