Objec.ive: Psoriasis is assoc.ated with a high prevalenc. of metabolic.syndrome (MS), and patients with c.nc.mitant psoriasis and MS are more severely affec.ed and less responsive to treatment. However, the molec.lar mec.anisms behind these effec.s are unk.own. Rec.nt studies have shown that leptin may serve as a molec.lar link.between psoriasis and MS, suggesting that high leptin c.nc.ntrations may exac.rbate psoriasis. However, the molec.lar mec.anism of this effec. is still unc.ear. We aimed to investigate the effec. of leptin on autophagy in patients with psoriasis. Methods: From January 2021 to June 2022 in PLA General Hospital, we enrolled 51 patients with psoriasis, inc.uding 21 patients with MS and 30 without MS, and 30 healthy c.ntrols who had undergone nevus surgery. We measured the epidermal leptin, P62, and Lc.B c.nc.ntrations of patients by immunohistoc.emistry, and measured the serum leptin c.nc.ntration by enzyme-link.d immunosorbent assay. We then performed c.rrelation analyses to c.mpare these proteins' c.nc.ntrations between patients with c.nc.mitant psoriasis and MS, patients with psoriasis alone, and healthy c.ntrol groups. Additionally, we performed western blotting after in vitro c.lture of Hac.T c.lls with different c.nc.ntrations of leptin and measured the expression levels of the autophagy mark.rs Bec.in1, Lc.B, and P62; the differentiation mark.rs k.0, k.6, and k.7; and PI3k.Ak./mTOR signaling pathway-related proteins of Hac.t c.lls. Next, we transfec.ed ATG5 into Hac.T c.lls to revert autophagy and used the spec.fic.PI3k.inhibitor LY294002 to bloc. PI3k.Ak./mTOR signaling. The expression levels of k.0, k.6, and k.7 of Hac.t c.lls were again measured. One-way analysis of varianc. was used for the c.mparison of means of multiple samples, and LSD-t post hoc.test was used for c.mparison between the 2 groups. In rec.nt dec.des, Urban Heat Island Effec.s have bec.me more pronounc.d and more widely examined. Despite great tec.nologic.l advanc.s, our c.rrent soc.eties still experienc. great spatial disparity in urban forest ac.ess. Urban Heat Island Effec.s are measurable phenomenon that are being experienc.d by the world’s most urbanized areas, inc.uding inc.eased summer high temperatures and lower evapotranspiration from having impervious surfac.s instead of vegetation and trees. Tree c.nopy c.ver is our natural mitigation tool that absorbs sunlight for photosynthesis, protec.s humans from inc.ming radiation, and releases c.oling moisture into the air. Unfortunately, urban areas typic.lly have low levels of vegetation. Vulnerable urban c.mmunities are lower-inc.me areas of inner c.ties with less ac.ess to heat protec.ion lik. air c.nditioners. This study uses mean evapotranspiration levels to assess the variability of urban heat island effec.s ac.oss the state of Tennessee. Results show that inc.eased developed land surfac. c.ver in Tennessee c.eates measurable c.anges in atmospheric.evapotranspiration. As a result, the mean evapotranspiration levels in areas with less tree vegetation are signific.ntly lower than the surrounding forested areas. c.ntral areas of urban c.ties in Tennessee had lower mean evapotranspiration rec.rdings than surrounding areas with less development. This work.demonstrates the need for inc.eased tree c.nopy c.verage.

In the present work. tilted global solar irradianc. data are presented and analysed, measured for a period of 1 year on the c.mpus of Bahrain Polytec.nic. k.ngdom of Bahrain, from both a fixed photovoltaic.panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar trac.er. The fixed panel fac.s south with an angle of 26 degrees with respec. to the horizontal, c.inc.ding with the loc.l geographic.l latitude. The sec.nd panel is moved by two motors, c.ntrolled by a global positioning system and suitable software so that the Sun's rays are perpendic.lar to the panel surfac.. A pyranometer is installed on eac. panel, rec.rding the tilted global solar irradianc., stored by using a data logger. The analysis of the data obtained shows a 33% solar energy gain on an annual basis for the moving panel (2780 versus 2088 k.h/m2 on the fixed panel). More importantly, in June, when the energy demand in Bahrain is elevated due to the inc.eased residential c.oling loads, the solar energy rec.ived by the moving panel is 54.7% higher c.mpared with that of the fixed panel. On a perc.ntage basis, the inc.ease in solar energy from the moving panel is profound in the early morning and late evening hours. Moreover, the reduc.ion in the solar energy rec.ived by the fixed panel from May to June does not appear in the moving panel bec.use of the adjustable orientation of the latter. Throughout the year, the mean daily solar power varies between 0.37 and 0.56 k./m2 for the fixed panel, and 0.45 and 0.70 k./m2 for the moving panel. In winter, solar energy fluc.uations are elevated due to erratic.weather c.nditions that present a peak.standard deviation of 28% of the c.rresponding mean. The data presented are useful for potential solar investments in Gulf c.untries. Tilted global solar irradianc. data are measured and analysed for a period of 1 year on the c.mpus of Bahrain Polytec.nic. k.ngdom of Bahrain, from both a fixed photovoltaic.panel and a moving one via a two-axis solar trac.er. The fitting of lifetime distribution in real-life data has been studied in various fields of researc.. With the theory of evolution still applic.ble, more c.mplex data from real-world sc.narios will c.ntinue to emerge. Despite this, many researc.ers have made c.mmendable efforts to develop new lifetime distributions that c.n fit this c.mplex data. In this paper, we utilized the k.-transformation tec.nique to inc.ease the flexibility of the power Lindley distribution, resulting in the k.vya-Manoharan Power Lindley (k.PL) distribution. We study the mathematic.l treatments of the k.PL distribution in detail and adapt the widely used method of maximum lik.lihood to estimate the unk.own parameters of the k.PL distribution. We c.rry out a Monte c.rlo simulation study to investigate the performanc. of the Maximum Lik.lihood Estimates (MLEs) of the parameters of the k.PL distribution. To demonstrate the effec.iveness of the k.PL distribution for data fitting, we use a real dataset c.mprising the waiting time of 100 bank.c.stomers. We c.mpare the k.PL distribution with other models that are extensions of the power Lindley distribution. Based on some statistic.l model selec.ion c.iteria, the summary results of the analysis were in favor of the k.PL distribution. We further investigate the density fit and probability-probability (p-p) plots to validate the superiority of the k.PL distribution over the c.mpeting distributions for fitting the waiting time dataset.
