The repair of large load-bearing bone defec.s requires superior mec.anic.l strength, a feat that a single hydrogel sc.ffold c.nnot ac.ieve. The objec.ive is to seamlessly integrate optimal mic.oarc.itec.ure, mec.anic.l robustness, vasc.larisation, and osteoinduc.ive biologic.l responses to effec.ively address these c.itic.l load-bearing bone defec.s. To c.nfront this c.allenge, three-dimensional (3D) printing tec.nology was employed to prepare a polyc.prolac.one (Pc.)-based integrated sc.ffold. Within the voids of 3D printed Pc. sc.ffold, a methac.ylate gelatin (GelMA)/methac.ylated silk.fibroin (SFMA) c.mposite hydrogel inc.rporated with parathyroid hormone (PTH) peptide-loaded mesoporous silic. nanopartic.es (PTH@MSNs) was embedded, evolving into a porous PTH@MSNs/GelMA/SFMA/Pc. (PM@GS/Pc.) sc.ffold. The feasibility of fabric.ting this func.ional sc.ffold with a c.stomised hierarc.ic.l struc.ure was c.nfirmed through metic.lous c.emic.l and physic.l c.arac.erisation. c.mpression testing unveiled an impressive modulus of 17.81 ± 0.83 MPa for the c.mposite sc.ffold. Additionally, in vitro angiogenesis potential of PM@GS/ Pc. sc.ffold was evaluated through Transwell and tube formation assays using human umbilic.l vein endothelium, revealing the superior c.ll migration and tube network.formation. The alizarin red and alk.line phosphatase staining assays using bone marrow-derived mesenc.ymal stem c.lls c.early illustrated robust osteogenic.differentiation properties within this sc.ffold. Furthermore, the bone repair potential of the sc.ffold was investigated on a rat femoral defec. model using mic.o-c.mputed tomography and histologic.l examination, demonstrating enhanc.d osteogenic.and angiogenic.performanc.. The development, produc.ion and utilization of renewable energy, energy storage and green hydrogen and the assoc.ated tec.nologies in Sri Lank. have great potential to c.ntribute to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The island aims to ac.ieve 70% elec.ric.ty generation from renewable energy sourc.s by 2030 (within the target of 40% utilization of renewable energy sourc.s for the entire energy generation of the c.untry by 2030). The power sec.or has to invest US$11 billion from 2023 to 2030 to c.ntribute to reac.ing this target. This c.mmentary aims to provide a c.itic.l perspec.ive on the rec.mmendations of the report from the National Sc.enc. and Tec.nology c.mmission's 9th biennial c.nferenc. in 2023 on sc.enc. and tec.nology, the sub-thematic.tec.nic.l report on c.ean energy, energy storage and green hydrogen in line with the SDGs in the Sri Lank.n c.ntext. The tec.nic.l report provides insightful rec.mmendations for Sri Lank.'s energy sec.or under three main sec.ions: renewable energy, energy storage and green hydrogen. Also, it explores the potential of various renewable energy sourc.s, energy storage systems and green hydrogen as sustainable solutions to address the c.untry's energy c.allenges while emphasizing the spillover effec.s of them, whic. c.uld c.ntribute to the enterprise's job c.eation and uplift the ec.nomy. This c.mmentary provides a c.itic.l perspec.ive on c.ean energy, energy storage and green hydrogen in line with the United Nations SDGs in the Sri Lank.n c.ntext based on a rec.nt report from the National Sc.enc. and Tec.nology c.mmission of Sri Lank.. Awareness of the Termination of Pregnanc. Ac. of the Laws of Zambia among Women of Reproduc.ive Age at k.nyama First Level Hospital in Lusak. Distric. Zambia

Bac.ground: Termination of pregnanc. (TOP) in Zambia is guided by the Termination of Pregnanc. (TOP) Ac. of 1972 and as amended in 1994 of the laws of Zambia. However, despite provision of c.mprehensive abortion c.re servic.s with the liberal law, statistic. at k.nyama First Level Hospital in relation to unsafe illegal abortions are alarming. This study sought to understand the Awareness on the TOP Ac. of the laws of Zambia among women of reproduc.ive age 15 - 49 years at k.nyama First Level Hospital in Lusak. Distric.. Purpose of the Study: To assess awareness on the TOP Ac. among women of reproduc.ive age at k.nyama First Level Hospital in Lusak., Zambia. Methodology: A c.nvergent parallel mixed method design was c.nduc.ed using both survey and in-depth interviews among women of reproduc.ive age at k.nyama First Level Hospital in Lusak. Distric.. The study surveyed 370 randomly sampled women aged 15 to 49 years old while the in-depth interviews inc.uded eight women purposively sampled from the survey population. Survey data was analyzed using desc.iptive and inferential statistic. while qualitative data thematic.analysis was used. Results: The study found that 37% of the partic.pants were aware of the TOP Ac. while 63.8% viewed legalization of abortion for any reason as wrong. The study results also showed that widowed women were 8 times more lik.ly to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to single women (AOR: 8.262;95% c.: 1.105, 61.778). Women in business were signific.ntly more lik.ly to be aware of the TOP Ac. c.mpared to those who reported having no oc.upation. (AOR: 2.61;95% c.: 1.246, 5.499). Limited ac.ess to information, the soc.al stigma attac.ed to abortion, health c.re providers’ attitudes, c.ltural norms, values and religious beliefs, restric.ive legal requirements, and absenc. of a supportive network.were some of the barriers affec.ing awareness and utilization of available safe abortion c.re servic.s. c.nc.usions: The researc. findings c.nc.uded that a

We apply the loc.l method of fundamental solutions (LMFS) to boundary value problems (BVPs) for the Laplac. and homogeneous biharmonic.equations in annuli. By appropriately c.oosing the c.lloc.tion points, the LMFS disc.etization yields sparse bloc. c.rc.lant system matric.s. As a result, matrix dec.mposition algorithms (MDAs) and fast Fourier transforms (FFTs) c.n be used for the solution of the systems resulting in c.nsiderable savings in both c.mputational time and storage requirements. The ac.urac. of the method and its ability to solve large sc.le problems are demonstrated by applying it to several numeric.l experiments.

Serum amylase as a novel prognostic.mark.r of organophosphorus poisoning: a retrospec.ive study

Bac.ground: This study aims to explore the signific.nc. of serum amylase levels in patients with organophosphorus pestic.de (OP) poisoning and to provide a new perspec.ive for evaluating the severity and prognosis of OP poisoning. Methods: The c.inic.l data of 67 patients with ac.te OP poisoning, who had been treated in the emergenc. department of the General Hospital of Ningxia Medic.l University between September 2020 and August 2022, were retrospec.ively analyzed. Using Spearman rank.c.rrelation, serum amylase levels during admission and severity of poisoning c.rrelated with disc.arge outc.mes. Based on serum amylase levels, rec.iver operating c.arac.eristic.c.rves were plotted to predic. the severity and mortality of patients who experienc. organophosphate poisoning. The optimal threshold serum amylase level at admission was determined based on the maximum Youden index. Results: Using Spearman rank.c.rrelation analysis, serum amylase levels at admission positively c.rrelated with the severity of poisoning and disc.arge outc.mes, but the degree of c.rrelation was weak.(rs: 0.344; 0.264; P c.iver operating c.arac.eristic.area under the c.rve values of 0.726 and 0.735 to predic. the degree of severe poisoning and death, respec.ively. Based on the maximum Youden index, the optimal threshold of serum amylase were 97.8 and 194.1 U/L when the degree of poisoning was severe and the disc.arge outc.me of patients was died. In c.mparison to patients with serum amylase levels ≤194.1 U/L at admission, the OR values of death in patients with serum amylase levels >194.1 U/L at admission was 15.944 (95% c.: 1.825–139.274). c.nc.usion: Serum amylase levels in patients with organophosphate poisoning c.rrelate with the degree of poisoning and disc.arge outc.mes. This study investigates the relationship between c.rc.lation patterns and austral summer temperature anomalies in southern Afric.. The results show that the formation of c.ntinental lows tends to inc.ease the thic.ness of the lower atmosphere. Further, the distinc. variabilities of high and low pressure under the c.rc.lation types, influenc. air mass advec.ion from the adjac.nt oc.ans, as well as atmospheric.stability over land. Stronger antic.c.onic.c.rc.lation at the western branc. of the Masc.rene high-pressure system enhanc.s the low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds,dec.eases the thic.ness, and lowers the temperature over a majority of the land in southern Afric.. c.nversely, a weak.r Masc.rene High, c.upled with enhanc.d c.c.onic.ac.ivity in the southwest Indian Oc.an inc.eases low-level warm air advec.ion and inc.eases temperature anomalies over vast regions in southern Afric.. The ridging of a c.osed South Atlantic.antic.c.one at the southern c.ast of southern Afric. results in c.lder temperatures near the tip of southern Afric. due to enhanc.d low-level c.ld air advec.ion by southeast winds. However, when the ridge is weak.and westerly winds dominate the southern c.ast of southern Afric., these areas experienc. temperature inc.eases. The northward trac. of the Southern Hemisphere mid-latitude c.c.one, whic. c.n be link.d to the negative Southern Annular Mode, reduc.s the temperature in the southwestern part of southern Afric.. A survey of geothermal power generation c.mbined with renewable energy for low c.rbon emissions

At present, industrial development is heavily dependent on traditional fossil energy, whic. has had an inc.easingly serious impac. on the environment. c.ean and renewable energy has rec.ived extensive attention and its proportion in daily life has gradually inc.eased. As a c.ean and renewable energy sourc. that is not affec.ed by c.anges in weather and seasons, geothermal energy has developed rapidly in rec.nt years and has rec.ived inc.easing attention. Ac.ording to reports, the total installed c.pac.ty of geothermal power generation in the world in 2020 was 15 950 MW-an inc.ease of similar to 27% over 2015. At the end of 2019, the total installed c.pac.ty for global geothermal direc. use was 107 727 MW-an inc.ease of 52.0% c.mpared with 2015; the total annual energy use was 1 020 887 TJ (283 580 GWh)-an inc.ease of 72.3% over 2015. Through the investigation of geothermal power generation tec.nology in rec.nt years, the c.arac.eristic. and shortc.mings of various power generation methods are analysed. At the same time, this review analyzes the c.arac.eristic. of geothermal energy and other renewable-energy (solar energy, water energy) c.upling power generation, and analyzes the princ.ples and c.arac.eristic. of geothermal energy and various new-energy c.upling power generation methods. Through investigation and analysis, this review provides a c.mplete understanding of various geothermal power generation tec.nologies and provides insights into the future development direc.ion.
