Vulnerability assessment and mapping play a crucial role in disaster risk reduction and planning for adaptation to a future *** is one of the most at-risk countries for earthquake disasters ***,it is imperative to develop effective earthquake vulnerability assessment and mapping at practically relevant *** this study,a holistic earthquake vulnerability index that addresses the multidimensional nature of earthquake vulnerability was *** the aim of representing the vulnerability as a continuum across space,buildings were set as the smallest unit of *** study area is in İzmit City of Turkey,with the exposed human and structural elements falling inside the most hazardous zone of *** index was represented by the building vulnerability,socioeconomic vulnerability,and vulnerability of the built *** minimize the subjectivity and uncertainty that the vulnerability indices based on expert knowledge are suffering from,an extension of the catastrophe progression method for the objective weighing of indicators was *** vulnerability index and components were mapped,a local spatial autocorrelation metric was employed where the hotspot maps demarcated the earthquake vulnerability,and the study quantitatively revealed an estimate of people at *** its objectivity and straightforward implementation,the method can aid decision support for disaster risk reduction and emergency management.

The objective of this paper is to identify time lag effect in the relationship between supply chain management and financial *** hypothesize that firms with higher supply chain management capability are associated with higher financial performance and the impact would last *** addition,we introduce two contextual variables,ownership and market orientation,to detect the moderating effect of ownership structure and organizational culture,*** use firm-level empirical data from 1,131 public Chinese manufacturing firms for the 2010–2019 period to investigate the effect and the result shows that there is a two-year time lag effect in the relationship,which means the positive impact of current supply chain management would last for three ***,we find evidence that supply chain management in non-state-owned firms is more efficient and its positive financial impact would last longer than that in state-owned ***,we indicate that market-orientation can’t moderate the relationship between supply chain management and financial performance.

We propose an archetypal self-excited system driven by moving belt friction, which is constructed with the smooth and discontinuous （SD） oscillator proposed by the Cao et al. and the classical moving belt. The moving belt friction is modeled as the Coulomb friction to formulate the mathematical model of the proposed self-excited SD oscillator. The equilibrium states of the unperturbed system are obtained to show the complex equilibrium bifurcations. Phase portraits are depicted to present the hyperbolic structure transition, the multiple stick regions, and the friction-induced asymmetry phenomena. The numerical simulations are carried out to demonstrate the friction-induced vibration of multiple stick-slip phenomena and the stick-slip chaos in the perturbed self-excited system. The results presented here provide an opportunity for us to get insight into the mechanism of the complex friction-induced nonlinear dynamics in mechanical engineering and geography.

In this paper,we investigate the equilibrium stability of a Filippov-type system having multiple stick regions based upon a smooth and discontinuous（SD） oscillator with dry *** sets of equilibrium states of the system are analyzed together with Coulomb friction conditions in both（ f_n,f_s） and（x,˙x） *** the stability analysis,Lyapunov functions are constructed to derive the instability for the equilibrium set of the hyperbolic type and La Salle＇s invariance principle is employed to obtain the stability of the nonhyperbolic *** demonstrates the existence of a thick stable manifold and the interior stability of the hyperbolic equilibrium set due to the attractive sliding mode of the Filippov property,and also shows that the unstable manifolds of the hyperbolic-type are that of the endpoints with their saddle *** calculations show a good agreement with the theoretical analysis and an excellent efficien y of the approach for equilibrium states in this particular Filippov ***,the equilibrium bifurcations are presented to demonstrate the transition between the smooth and the discontinuous regimes.

The discussed topic of isolating certain parameters which describe the timbre in connection with bocals of bassoons is of major interest for manufacturers and artist likewise since a reduction in the overall shear stress of these kinds of technical diffusors is very helpful but not sufficient. The timbre seen from the side of the musician has to be the same. Up to now two criteria have been isolated which have a deep influence on the easier blowing of the bassoon and on the comparable timbre due to geometrical reasons. If the geometrical outer contour is designed carefully, it is possible to modify the shape and preserve the timbre.

By the year 2050, the population of the United States is expected to reach over 418 million, while the global population will reach 9.6 billion. To provide safe food and fiber, agriculture must balance pesticide usage against impacts on natural resources. Challenges arise when storms cause runoff to be transported to aquatic receiving systems. Vegetated systems such as drainage ditches and constructed wetlands have been proposed as management practices to alleviate pesticide runoff. Twelve experimental mesocosms （1.3 ±0.71 ± 0.61 m） were filled with sediment and planted with a monoculture of one of three wetland plant species （Typha latifolia, Leersia oryzoides, and Sparganium arnericanurn）. Three mesocosms remained unvegetated to serve as controls. All mesocosms were amended with 9.2 ± 0.8 μg/L, 12 ± 0.4 μg/L, and 3.1 ± 0.2 μg/L of atrazine, metolachlor, and diazinon, respectively, over a 4 hr hydraulic retention time to simulate storm runoff. Following the 4 hr amendment, non-amended water was flushed through mesocosms for an additional 4 hr. Outflow water samples were taken hourly from pre-amendment through 8 hr, and again at 12, 24, 48, 72, and 168 hr post-amendment. L. oryzoides and T. latifolia had mean atrazine, metolachlor, and diazinon retentions from B1%-55% for the first 4 hr of the experiment. Aside from S. arnericanum and atrazine （25% retention）, unvegetated controls had the lowest pesticide retention （17%-28%） of all compared mesocosms. While native aquatic vegetation shows promise for mitigation of pesticide runoff, further studies increasing the hydraulic retention time for improved efficiency should be examined.
