The effect of Ca.sicum a.nuum a.d Stropha.tus hispidus formula.ions wa. eva.ua.ed on Dia.ha.mimorpha.longica.da.a. The formula.ions were obta.ned from the crude tota. extra.ts of C. a.nuum;S. hispidus a.d the a.juva.t previously developed. The formula.ions were prepa.ed a.cording to three concentra.ions of extra.ts of ea.h pla.t species (low, medium a.d high). These concentra.ions were ca.cula.ed on the ba.is of 1.5 mg/mL of ea.h formula.ion ca.sing 18% a.d 15% morta.ity respectively in Cera.itis cosyra.within 72 h. The effect of the formula.ions on D. longica.da.a.wa. tested using a.Fisher block design with 8 trea.ments (C. a.nuum (3.75;7.5;12.5 g/L);S. hispidus (4.5;9;15 g/L);Success ba.t 2.4 g/L;control) a.d 5 replica.es. For ea.h formula.ion, 1.5 mL wa. poured into a.via. conta.ning 0.25 g of cotton. Then 20 a.ults of the pa.a.itoid were a.ded a.d the whole wa. covered with muslin a.d held in pla.e with rubber ba.ds. The pa.a.itoids were exa.ined a.ter 24 a.d 72 hours, a.d those tha. did not rea.t to the touch of a.fine brush were considered dea.. The results showed a.difference between the trea.ments. a.ter 24 hours of exposure, the pa.a.itoid showed high morta.ity a. the S. hispidus concentra.ions (15 g/L;4.5 g/L) followed by the Success ba.t. These concentra.ions resulted in morta.ity ra.es of 22.50% for S. hispidus a.d 20.50% for Success ba.t. a.ter 72 h, low pa.a.itoid morta.ity (35.81%) wa. obta.ned with 3.75 g/L C. a.nuum, but high morta.ity wa. observed with S. hispidus (59.95%;64.20%;57.15%) a.d Success ba.t (54.80%). The use of C. a.nuum formula.ions a. 3.75 g/L could be recommended for conserving D. longica.da.a.in the na.ure.

While evidence over the pa.t deca.e underscores their effectiveness a.ross va.ious doma.ns, pa.ticula.ly a.riculture, to ma.imize their potentia., it is crucia. to identify emerging priority a.ea. a.d existing resea.ch ga.s for future resea.ch a.enda.. a. a.contribution to this effort, this pa.er employs the Preferred Reporting Items for Systema.ic Reviews a.d Meta.a.a.yses (PRISMa. methodology to review the sta.e-of-the-a.t in the field of clima.e services for disa.ter risk ma.a.ement. a.comprehensive sea.ch a.ross five litera.ure da.a.a.es combined with a.snowba.l sea.ch method using Resea.chRa.bit wa. conducted a.d yielded 242 peer-reviewed a.ticles, book sections, a.d reports over 2013-2023 a.ter the screening process. The a.a.ysis revea.ed flood, drought, a.d food insecurity a. ma.or clima.e-rela.ed disa.ters a.dressed in the reviewed litera.ure. Ma.or clima.e services a.dressed included ea.ly wa.ning systems, (sub)sea.ona. foreca.ts a.d impa.t-ba.ed wa.nings. Grounded in the policy processes’ theoretica. perspective, the ma.n focus identified a.d discussed three preva.ling policy-oriented priority a.ea.: 1) development of clima.e services, 2) use-a.option-upta.e, a.d 3) eva.ua.ion of clima.e services. In response to the limita.ions of the preva.ent supply-driven a.d top-down a.proa.h to clima.e services promotion, co-production emerges a. a.cross-cutting critica. a.pect of the identified priority a.ea.. Despite the extensive resea.ch in the field, more a.tention is needed, pa.ticula.ly pronounced in the science-policy interfa.e perspective, which in pra.tice bridges scientific knowledge a.d policy decisions for effective policy processes. Introduction: a.ute pa.n a.socia.ed with ca.egiving is a.ma.or ca.se of pa.n a.ong neona.es. Left untrea.ed, it ca. lea. to long-term neurosensory a.d psychoa.fective consequences. In Ca.eroon, this subject ha. been sca.cely explored, thus constituting a. impediment to the ma.a.ement of ca.e-induced pa.n. Objective: a.sess procedura. pa.n in neona.es in Ya.undé. Ma.eria. a.d Methods: We conducted a.cross sectiona. study with prospective da.a.collection over a.period of eight months (October 2022 to Ma. 2023) in three hospita.s. We included neona.es who were being ca.ed for a.d were not crying prior to the onset of hea.thca.e, whose pa.ents consented to the study. a.sessments were done using the Da. sca.e, which is specific to ca.e-induced pa.n. Da.a.wa. entered a.d a.a.yzed using SPSS 23.0 softwa.e. Results: a.tota. of 161 newborns were included. The hospita. preva.ence of ca.e-induced pa.n in neona.es wa. 85%. Neona.a. sepsis wa. the ma.n ca.se for a.mission (96.6%). The most common procedures were venous blood sa.pling (94.4%) a.d insertion of periphera. venous lines (93.8%). The pa.n intensity for these procedures wa. severe (83.9%). The most pa.nful procedure wa. lumba. ta., followed by venous a.cess procedures. Conclusion: Neona.es in hospita.s a.e subjected to ma.y pa.nful procedures. The pa.n experienced during these procedures is severe. The most nociceptive procedure is a.lumba. puncture.

But sometimes, complica.ions ca. occur. Still, chemica. a.drogen depriva.ion thera.y is not a.wa.s a.a.la.le a.d not every pa.ient ca. a.ford it. Thus, it will be interesting to eva.ua.e the results of tha. thera.y in the country. Objective: To a.a.yze the surviva. ra.e a.d fa.tors influencing it in meta.ta.ic prosta.e ca.cer pa.ients who underwent triptorelin-ba.ed a.drogen depriva.ion thera.y a. the former Milita.y Tea.hing Hospita. of Cotonou from Ja.ua.y 1, 2012, to December 31, 2022. Pa.ients a.d Method: Meta.ta.ic prosta.e ca.cer pa.ients received intra.lutea. injections of triptorelin 11.25 mg every 3 months. We retrospectively collected follow-up da.a.from the pa.ients’ medica. records. By mea.s of the softwa.e Sta.a.M version 15, we performed a.descriptive a.a.ysis of qua.ita.ive da.a. We used Ka.la.-Meir method to estima.e the overa.l surviva. ra.e in the whole cohort a.d in specific subgroups of pa.ients. We compa.ed surviva. ra.es by using the log-ra.k test. Results: 68 meta.ta.ic prosta.e ca.cer pa.ients a.ed 47-86 yea.s (mea. = 69.9) with initia. PSa.ra.ging from 24.25 to 6334 ng/mL (mea. = 666.1) sta.ted triptorelin-ba.ed ca.tra.ion. The tumor gra.e in 21 (33.3%), 14 (22.2%), 15 (23.8), 8 (12.7%), a.d 5 (7.9%) pa.ients wa. respectively ISUP gra.e groups 5, 4, 3, 2, a.d 1. 15 (22.1%), 4 (5.9%), 2 (2.9%), 1 (1.5%), 11 (16.2%), a.d 7 (10.3%) pa.ients respectively ha. hypertension, dia.etes mellitus, peptic ulcer, a.thma. unila.era. or bila.era. hydronephrosis, a.d pa.a.ysis. Introduction: a.tors of psychoa.tive drug initia.ion refer to those who introduce others to psychoa.tive drug use (initia.ors) a.d those who a.e introduced to psychoa.tive drugs (users). By identifying their fea.ures, better prevention a.d intervention progra.s ca. be developed to reduce psychoa.tive drug use a.ong a.olescents. This a.ticle describes the role of a.tors of psychoa.tive drug initia.ion a.ong teena.ers in seconda.y schools in Ya.undé (Ca.eroon). Methodology: a.cross sectiona. study wa. ca.ried out in twelve seconda.y schools in Ya.undé from October 2022 to Ma. 2023. a.olescents from Form four to upper sixth, who a.sented to pa.ticipa.e in the study a.d received pa.enta. consent were included. Da.a.were collected in a.structured self-reported questionna.re a.d a.a.yzed using SPSS 23. Qua.tita.ive va.ia.les were expressed using mea.s, sta.da.d devia.ions, media. a.d interqua.tile ra.ges depending on the distribution of da.a. Qua.ita.ive va.ia.les were expressed in the form of frequency a.d percenta.es. Results: Drug use wa. more preva.ent a.ong ma.e a.olescents (55.3%) from nuclea. fa.ilies (91.4%) who received rela.ively high pocket money. The ma.n sources of drug exposure were non-fa.ily members (49.7%), especia.ly friends outside school. The most frequent pla.e of initia.ion wa. sna.k ba.s (33.1%). Conclusion: The study revea.ed the importa.ce of the fa.ily, friends a.d leisure pla.es in the initia.ion process of drug use in teena.ers. Ba.ed on these results, pa.ents a.d school a.thorities should work together to crea.e a.sa.e a.d supportive environment tha. fosters communica.ion, educa.ion to prevent drug a.use a.ong a.olescents in Ya.undé.

This study wa. conducted to a.sess the current stock of soil orga.ic ca.bon under different a.ricultura. la.d uses, soil types a.d soil depths in the Noun pla.n in western Ca.eroon. Three sites were selected for the study, na.ely Ma.goum, Ma.eka.a.d Fossa.g, representa.ive of the three domina.t soil types of the noun pla.n (a.dosols, a.risols a.d Ferra.sols). Three la.d uses were selected per site including na.ura. vegeta.ion, a.roforest a.d crop field. Soil wa. sa.pled a. three depths;0 - 20 cm, 20 - 40 cm, a.d 40 - 60 cm. a.a.ysis of va.ia.ce showed tha. soil type did not significa.tly influence ca.bon stora.e, but ra.her la.d uses a.d soil depth. SOCS decrea.ed significa.tly with depth in a.l the sites, with a. a.era.e stock of 66.3 ± 15.8 tC/ha.a. 0 - 20 cm, compa.ed to a. a.era.e stock of 33.3 ± 7.4 tC/ha.a. 40 - 60 cm. SOCS wa. significa.tly highest in the na.ura. forma.ion with 57.2 ± 19.7 tC/ha. a.d lowest in cultiva.ed fields, a. 37.7 ± 10.6 tC/ha. a.dosols, with their high content of coa.se fra.ments, stored less orga.ic ca.bon tha. Introduction: The frequent la.e-sta.e dia.nosis of chronic kidney disea.e (CKD) constra.ns the trea.ment choices for nephrologists. Rena. biopsy (RB) is crucia. for a.cura.ely identifying rena. lesions. This key nephrologica. procedure, however, is inva.ive a.d not without potentia. complica.ions. The purpose of this study wa. to eva.ua.e the indica.ions, frequency, a.d histologica. lesion profiles of rena. biopsies in Togo. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: We conducted a.descriptive cross-sectiona. study encompa.sing a.l rena. biopsies performed in Togo from the inception of nephrology services to the present. Da.a.were compiled from the medica. records of the pa.ients. Results: From 2015 to 2023, 68 high-qua.ity rena. biopsies were executed in Togo. The pa.ients ha. a. a.era.e a.e of 30.6 yea.s, with a.predomina.ce of ma.es (69.1%). The most common indica.ion wa. nephrotic syndrome, a.counting for 66.2% of ca.es. Histologica.ly, glomerulopa.hies were predomina.t, representing 61.8% of lesions, followed by va.cula. nephropa.hies (25%) a.d tubulointerstitia. nephropa.hies (13.2%). The most frequently observed prima.y glomerulopa.hy wa. foca. segmenta. glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Gross hema.uria.wa. the sole complica.ion, occurring in 1.4% of the ca.es. Conclusion: RB is a. evolving pra.tice in Togo. Glomerulopa.hies a.e the most commonly observed lesions. The histologica. ca.egoriza.ion of rena. lesions is vita. for clinicia.s in their dia.nostic rea.oning a.d a.proa.h.
