BACKGROUND The impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)on acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)is debatable.T2DM was suspected to reduce the risk and complications of ***,during coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),T2DM predisposed patients to ARDS,especially those who were on insulin at *** evaluate the impact of outpatient insulin use in T2DM patients on non-COVID-19 ARDS *** We conducted a retrospective cohort analysis using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample *** patients diagnosed with ARDS were stratified into insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus(DM)(IDDM)and non-insulindependent DM(NIDDM)*** applying exclusion criteria and matching over 20 variables,we compared cohorts for mortality,duration of mechanical ventilation,incidence of acute kidney injury(AKI),length of stay(LOS),hospitalization costs,and other clinical *** Following 1:1 propensity score matching,the analysis included 274 patients in each ***,no statistically significant differences emerged between the IDDM and NIDDM groups in terms of mortality rates(32.8%vs 31.0%,P=0.520),median hospital LOS(10 d,P=0.537),requirement for mechanical ventilation,incidence rates of sepsis,pneumonia or AKI,median total hospitalization costs,or patient disposition upon *** Compared to alternative anti-diabetic medications,outpatient insulin treatment does not appear to exert an independent influence on in-hospital morbidity or mortality in diabetic patients with non-COVID-19 ARDS.

Bulk materials were synthesized by the Bridgman technique using the elements Cu, Ga, Se. These samples were characterized by Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS) to determine the elemental composition, as well as by X-ray diffraction for structure, hot point probe method for type of conductivity. Optical response (Photoconductivity) and Photoluminescence (PL) and PL-excitation (PLE) at temperatures from 4.2 to 77 K were also used to estimate the band-gap energy of Cu-Ga3Se5. They show a nearly perfect stoechiometry and present p-type conductivity. CuGa3Se5 either have an Ordered Defect Chalcopyrite structure (ODC), or an Ordered Vacancy Chalcopyrite structure (OVC). The gap energy obtained by Photoconductivity and Photoluminescence (PL) for the different samples is 1.85 eV. Studying the variation of the gap as a function of the temperature shows that the transition is a D-A type. The defects that appear are probably GaCu.

Using Spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE), the optical properties of Cu(In1−xGax)3Se5 bulk compounds, grown by the Bridgman method, were analyzed by varying x composition (0 ≤ x ≤ 1). Energy levels above the gap in the band scheme were determined by measuring the complex dielectric function ?at room-temperature for energies between 1.5 and 5.5 eV using a variable angle of incidence ellipsometer. The transitions values E1, E2 and E3 were observed above the gap for different samples of Cu(In1−xGax)3Se5 alloy. When a gallium atom replaces an indium atom, one assumes globally that the levels related to selenium and copper are unchanged. Conversely, the levels corresponding to the conduction band are shifted towards higher energies. Thus, the gap increases as the composition of gallium increases. Spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) gave evidence for the interpretation of the choice of gap values which were compatible with that obtained from solar spectrum. Several other characterization methods like Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS), hot point probe method, X-ray diffraction, Photoluminescence (PL), Optical response (Photoconductivity) were presented in this paper. The Cu(In1−xGax)3Se5 have an Ordered Vacancy Chalcopyrite-type structure with lattice constants varying as a function of the x composition. The band gap energy of Cu(In1−xGax)3Se5 compounds is found to vary from 1.23 eV to 1.85 eV as a function of x.

Objective: To evaluate the insecticide, larvicidal and repellent activity of the essential oils from Callistemon viminalis, Melaleuca leucadendron, and Hyptis suaveolens against Chrysodeixis chalcites and to compare it with neem oil(Azadirachta indica). Methods: The essential oils of the leaves of these aromatiques plants were extracted by steam distillation and contacts tests were carried out. Results: Essential oils in ethanol from Callistemon viminalis showed a higher biological activity than the neem with 100% larval mortality at the concentration of 2 μg/m L for 6 h, 100% and 90% in ethanol from Melaleuca leucadendron and Hyptis suaveolens, respectively at the concentration of 4 μg/m L for 24 h. By inhalation, the essential oils from Melaleuca leucadendron and of Hyptis suaveolens were more effective with mortality rates of larvae 100% and 50% respectively at 2 μg/L air applied after 24 h. Nevertheless, the neem has shown to be a repulsive plant and anti-nutritional plant. A significant difference in the percentages of consumption between leaves treated with neem oil and the control samples was observed(Newman-Keuls test) except for Melaleuca leucadendron. Conclusions: The results of the study highlight remarkable biocide, properties of tested extracts, which provides important opportunities for the development of biopesticides.

We present the results concerning photovoltaic materials CuIn1-xGaxSe2 thin films, which were obtained by close-spaced vapor transport “CSVT”. The influence of the iodine pressure on the growth of CuIn1-xGaxSe2 thin films was studied. The thin films were characterized by Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS), Scanning electron Microscope (SEM), hot point probe method, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Photoluminescence, and Optical response (Photoconductivity). At high pressure, the deposition rate was very important. The films were relatively thick and homogeneous with large grains dimensions. These films are formed of crystals placed in a preferential orientation depending on the plan (112). At low pressure, the films were thin and inhomogeneous with relatively small grains. These films of crystals didn’t have preferential orientation.

The present work prepared the CuIn3Se5 ingots by using a horizontal Bridgman method and investigated the Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (EDS) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) to calculate the compositions of the ingots. Photoluminescence was used to check their optical properties. It was found that CuIn3Se5 had either a Stanite structure, an Ordered Defect Chalcopyrite (ODC) structure, or an Ordered Vacancy Chalcopyrite (OVC) structure. The gap energy obtained by Photoluminescence (PL) for the different samples is 1.23 eV. Studying the variation of the gap as a function of the temperature shows that the transition is a D-A type.

本文研究了环境温度恒定为25℃、相对湿度为49%、体积为0.01 mL的液滴在-20℃裸铜底板的冻结实验,发现在附加交流磁场强度分别为2.0×10^-3、2.5×10^-3、3.0×10^-3、3.5×10^-3、4.0×10^-3、4.5×10^-3、5.0×10^-3、5.5×10^-3、6.0×10^-3 T的作用下,液滴结晶过冷度增大,最大过冷度提高了2.08℃;但附加磁场会减小成核驱动力;相比无磁场情况下,液滴冷凝时间减少,凝结粒径相比无磁场下较小。通过对在相同温湿度下自然对流条件的冷铜底板结霜可视化研究发现,由于附加磁场使极性水分子有序的在底板排列,较无磁场下液滴结晶过程熵增更小,在宏观上呈现液滴有序排列。此外,实验发现在0~6×10^-3 T的磁场强度范围,随着磁场强度的增大,平板单位面积结霜量减小,单位面积结霜量与交流磁场强度有较高的相关性,得到了拟合关系式。

DC-DC boost power converters play an important role in solar power systems;they step up the input voltage of a solar array for a given set of conditions. This paper presents an overview of the variance boost converter topologies. Each boost converter is evaluated on its capability to operate efficient, size, and cost of implementation. Conventional boost converter and interleaved boost converter are widely used topologies in photovoltaic systems reported;however, they have negative sides of varied efficiency level under changed weather conditions. Therefore, this paper proposes, interleaved boost converter with novel switch adaptive control, to maximise efficiency of standalone photovoltaic system under change of solar power levels, due to illadation condition.
