We studied the CBOE Market Volatility Index from 1995 to 2004 and the Cross-Sectional Volatility of MSCI US and MSCI AC Asia ex Japan of the same period. Tracking Error calculations and Market Volatility Analyses were performed. We selected a portfolio, Dragon, for Risk Analysis, Risk Decomposition and Risk Characteristics identification purposes. A conclusion relating Dragon’s Tracking Error and its Portfolio Siz. was drawn.

Understanding the anisotropic creep behaviors of shale under direct shearing is a challenging *** this context,we conducted shear-creep and steady-creep tests on shale with five bedding orientations (i.e.0°,30°,45°,60°,and 90°),under multiple levels of direct shearing for the first *** results show that the anisotropic creep of shale exhibits a significant stress-dependent *** a low shear stress,the creep compliance of shale increases linearly with the logarithm of time at all bedding orientations,and the increase depends on the bedding orientation and creep *** high shear stress conditions,the creep compliance of shale is minimal when the bedding orientation is 0°,and the steady-creep rate of shale increases significantly with increasing bedding orientations of 30°,45°,60°,and 90°.The stress-strain values corresponding to the inception of the accelerated creep stage show an increasing and then decreasing trend with the bedding orientation.A semilogarithmic model that could reflect the stress dependence of the steady-creep rate while considering the hardening and damage process is *** model minimiz.s the deviation of the calculated steady-state creep rate from the observed value and reveals the behavior of the bedding orientation's influence on the steady-creep *** applicability of the five classical empirical creep models is quantitatively *** shows that the logarithmic model can well explain the experimental creep strain and creep rate,and it can accurately predict long-term shear creep *** on an improved logarithmic model,the variations in creep parameters with shear stress and bedding orientations are *** abovementioned findings,a mathematical method for constructing an anisotropic shear creep model of shale is proposed,which can characteriz. the nonlinear dependence of the anisotropic shear creep behavior of shale on the bedding orientation.

Objective: Ultrasonography is a diagnostic imaging technique used to visualiz. subcutaneous body structures for identification of possible pathologies. In this study, we aimed to explore the clinical significance of high-frequency ultrasound in differentiating the location of blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. Methods: Eighteen patients were recruited in Department of Dermatology, z.ongda Hospital from 2020 to 2021 and divided into a pemphigus group (n = 8) and a bullous pemphigoid group (n = 10) according to the diagnostic criteria for each. Ultrasonographic images were collected using a 50-MHz.high-frequency ultrasound system. The indexes of ultrasonic evaluation were the layer (epidermis or dermis), siz., shape, internal echo, and boundary of the blister. Categorical variables are expressed as n (%), and differences were compared using Fisher's exact test. Results: The ultrasonographic images in the pemphigus group showed an intraepidermal semi-arc or irregular anechoic or hypoechoic areas. The inferior borders were situated above the characteristic thin linear hyperechoic bands of the epidermis. A linear hypoechoic band was present at the dermoepidermal junction in some cases. In the ultrasonographic images of the bullous pemphigoid group, the linear hyperechoic bands of the epidermis were continuous and intact. An oval fluid anechoic area (subepidermal blister) was present immediately below the bands. The location of the blisters in the ultrasonographic images was significantly different between the 2 groups (P < 0.001). Conclusion: High-frequency ultrasound can be used as an auxiliary means to differentiate the location of blisters between pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid. © 2022 Hospital for Skin Diseases (Institute of Dermatology), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Chinese Medical Association, published by Wolters Kluwer, Inc.

In this study,interconnected porous Mg-2z.-xY alloys with different phase compositions were prepared by various Y additions(x=0.4,3,and 6 wt.%)to adjust the compressive properties and energy absorption *** characteriz.tion methods were then applied to identify the microstructure of the porous Mg-z.-Y and describe the details of the second *** tests were performed at room temperature(RT),200℃,and 300℃to study the impact of the Y addition and testing temperature on the compressive properties of the porous *** experimental results showed that a high Y content promotes a microstructure refinement and increases the volume fraction of the second *** the Y content increases,different Mg-z.-Y ternary phases appear:I-phase(Mg_(3)z._(6)Y),W-phase(Mg_(3)z._(3)Y_(2)),and LPSO phase(Mg_(12)z.Y).When the Y content ranges between 0.4%and 6%,the compressive strength increases from 6.30MPa to 9.23 MPa,and the energy absorption capacity increases from 7.33 MJ/m^(3)to 10.97 MJ/m^(3)at RT,which is mainly attributed to the phase composition and volume fraction of the second ***,the average energy absorption efficiency is independent of the Y *** addition,the compressive deformation behaviors of the porous Mg-z.-Y are altered by the testing *** compressive strength and energy absorption capacity of the porous Mg-z.-Y decrease due to the softening effect of the high temperature on the *** deformation behaviors at different temperatures are finally observed to reflect the failure mechanisms of the struts.

In this study,a two-step method was used to synthesiz. highly luminescent AgGaS/z.S/z.S quantum dots(QDs).In the first step,an inner z.S shell was formed via a one-pot method,which resulted in a smaller lattice mismatch between the AgGaS core and the outer z.S shell,thereby facilitating the formation of a thick outer *** the two-step shelling process,the synthesiz.d AgGaS/z.S/z.S QDs showed an excellent photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 96.4%with a peak wavelength of 508 nm,repre-senting the highest PLQY reported thus far for AgGaS ***,the effect of halogen ions in z. precursors on the shelling process was *** was proposed that the capacity of halogen ions to coordinate with the QDs influenced the balance between z. cation diffusion and z.S shelling ***,the z.S shelling reaction was dominant when z.Cl_(2)was employed,while z. cation diffusion was the dominant process under the I^(−)-rich *** work provides insights into the interfacial restructuring during the z.S shelling and offers a clear map for the tailored synthesis of core/shell QDs.

B_(4)C/Al composites are widely utiliz.d as neutron absorbing materials for the storage and transportation of spent nuclear *** order to improve the high-temperature mechanical properties of B_(4)C/Al composites,in-situ nano-Al_(2)O_(3)was introduced utiliz.ng oxide on Al powder *** this study,the Al_(2)O_(3)content was adjusted by utiliz.ng spheroid Al powder with varying diameters,thereby investigating the impact of Al_(2)O_(3)content on the tensile properties of(B_(4)C+Al_(2)O_(3))/Al *** was found that the pinning effect of Al_(2)O_(3)on the grain boundaries could hinder the recovery of dislocations and lead to dislocation accumulation at high *** the result,with the increase in Al_(2)O_(3)content and the decrease in grain siz.,the high-temperature strength of the composites increased *** finest Al powder used in this investigation had a diameter of 1.4μm,whereas the resultant composite exhibited a maximum strength of 251 MPa at room temperature and 133 MPa at 350℃,surpassing that of traditional B_(4)C/Al composites.

Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)shape memory alloy(SMA)is a promising material in the aerospace field due to its wide transformation *** application of shape memory effect depends on multistep thermomechan-ical loading,viz.,low-temperature deformation and subsequent heating to ***-temperature deformation prestrain plays a pivotal role in shape memory properties tailoring of SMA ***,microstructure evolution and deformation mechanisms of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)SMA subjected to vari-ous prestrain levels are still *** this end,microstructure evolution and shape memory behaviors of Ni_(47)Ti_(44)Nb_(9)alloy subjected to multistep thermomechanical loading with prestrain levels of 8%-16%at-28℃(M_(s)+30℃)were *** results demonstrate that the stress-strain curve of the specimen exhibits four distinct stages at a maximal prestrain of 16%.Whereas stageⅡand stageⅢend at prestrains of∼8%and∼12%,*** stageⅡ,the stress-induced martensitic transformation is accompanied by the dislocation slip of the NiTi matrix andβ-Nb *** stageⅢ,in addition to the higher density of dislocations and further growth of stress-induced martensite variants(SIMVs),(001)compound twins are introduced as a result of the(001)deformation twinning in stress-induced ***{20-1}martensite twins are gradually introduced in stageⅣ.Correspondingly,after subsequent unloading and heating,a higher density of{114}austenite twins form in the specimen with a larger prestrain of 16%.With increasing prestrain from 8%to 16%,the recoverable strainε_(re)^(T)upon heating increases first and then ***ε_(re)^(T)obtains a maximum of 7.03%at 10%prestrain and de-creases to 6.17%at 16%*** increase ofε_(re)^(T)can be attributed to the formation of new SIMVs,the further growth of existing SIMVs,and the recoverable(001)compound *** the decrease ofε_(re)^(T)is mainly associated with the irrecoverable strain by{20−1}martensite *** effe
