Uncontrollable dendrite growth resulting from the non-uniform lithium ion(Li^(+))flux and volume expansion in lithium metal(Li)negative electrode leads to rapid performance degradation and serious safety problems of lithium metal *** N-containing functional groups in carbon materials are reported to be effective to homogenize the Li^(+)flux,the effective interaction distance between lithium ions and N-containing groups should be relatively small(down to nanometer scale)according to the Debye length ***,it is necessary to carefully design the microstructure of N-containing carbon materials to make the most of their roles in regulating the Li^(+)*** this work,porous carbon nitride microspheres(PCNMs)with abundant nanopores have been synthesized and utilized to fabricate a uniform lithiophilic coating layer having hybrid pores of both the nano-and micrometer scales on the Cu/Li ***,the three-dimensional(3D)porous framework is favorable for absorbing volume changes and guiding Li ***,this coating layer can render a suitable interaction distance to effectively homogenize the Li^(+)flux and contribute to establishing a robust and stable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer with Li-F,Li-N,and Li-O-rich contents based on the Debye length *** a physical-chemical synergic regulation strategy using PCNMs can lead to dendrite-free Li plating,resulting in a low nucleation overpotential and stable Li plating/stripping cycling performance in both the Li||Cu and the Li||Li symmetric ***,a full cell using the PCNM coated Li foil negative electrode and a LiFePO4 positive electrode has delivered a high capacity retention of~80%after more than 200 cycles at 1 C and achieved a remarkable rate *** pouch cell fabricated by pairing the PCNM coated Li foil negative electrode with a NCM 811 positive electrode has retained~73%of the initial capacity after 150 cycles at 0.2 C.

Supercritical fluids are becoming increasingly attractive as environmentally acceptable replacement for organic solvents in chemical reactions and material processing. This paper highlights some of the properties of supercritical fluids, especially supercritical CO2, which offer particular advantages for the handling of polymers, metal complexes and the environmentally more friendly synthesis and manufacture of chemicals. The paper includes same of the researches in University of Nottingham and a number of recent reviews which together provide a comprehensive introduction.

BACKGrOUND:This prospective,randomized trial was undertaken to evaluate the utility of adding end-tidal capnometry(ETC)to pulse oximetry(PO)in patients undergoing procedural sedation and analgesia(PSA)in the emergency department(ED).METHODS:The patients were randomized to monitoring with or without ETC in addition to the current standard of *** endpoints included respiratory adverse events,with secondary endpoints of level of sedation,hypotension,other PSA-related adverse events and patient ***:Of 986 patients,501 were randomized to usual care and 485 to additional ETC *** this series,48%of the patients were female,with a mean age of 46 *** manipulations(71%),cardioversion(12%)and abscess incision and drainage(12%)were the most common procedures,and propofol and fentanyl were the sedative/analgesic combination used for most *** was no difference in patients experiencing de-saturation(Sa O2roups;however,patients in the ETC group were more likely to require airway repositioning(12.9%vs.9.3%,P=0.003).Hypotension(SBPrrved in 16(3.3%)patients in the ETC group and 7(1.4%)in the control group(P=0.048).CONCLUSIONS:The addition of ETC does not appear to change any clinically significant *** found an increased incidence of the use of airway repositioning maneuvers and hypotension in cases where ETC was *** do not believe that ETC should be recommended as a standard of care for the monitoring of patients undergoing PSA.

Stomatal ontogenesis,patterning,and function are hallmarks of environmental plant adaptation,especially to conditions limiting plant growth,such as elevated temperatures and reduced water *** specification and distribution of a stomatal cell lineage and its terminal differentiation into guard cells require a master regulatory protein phosphorylation cascade involving the YODA mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase *** signaling results in the activation of MITOGEN-ACTIVATED PrOTEIN KINASEs(MPK3 and MPK6),which regulate transcription factors,including SPEECHLESS(SPCH).Here,we report that acute heat stress affects the phosphorylation and deactivation of SPCH and modulates stomatal *** using complem entary molecular,genetic,biochemical,and cell biology approaches,we provide solid evidence that HEAT SHOCK PrOTEINS 90(HSP90s)play a crucial role in transducing heat-stress response through the YODA *** studies revealed that YODA and HSP90.1 are epistatic,and they likely function linearly in the same developmental pathway regulating stomata ***90s interact with YODA,affectits cellular polarization,and modulate the phosphorylation of downstream targets,such as MPK6 and SPCH,under both normal and heat-stress ***,HSP90-mediated specification and differentiation of the stomatal cell lineage couples stomatal development to environmental cues,providing an adaptive heat stress response mechanism in plants.

recent studies have shown that global translational reprogramming is an early activation event in pattern-triggered immunity,when plants recognize microbe-associated molecular ***,it is not fully known whether translational regulation also occurs in subsequent immune responses,such as effector-triggered immunity(ETI).In this study,we performed genome-wide ribosome profiling in Arabidopsis upon rPS2-mediated ETI activation and discovered that specific groups of genes were translationally regulated,mostly in coordination with *** genes encode enzymes involved in aromatic amino acid,phenylpropanoid,camalexin,and sphingolipid *** functional significance of these components in ETI was confirmed by genetic and biochemical *** findings provide new insights into diverse translational regulation of plant immune responses and demonstrate that translational coordination of metabolic gene expression is an important strategy for ETI.

AIM: To establish the potential of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) (PHBHHx) as a material for tendon repair. METHODS: The biocompatibility of PHBHHx with both rat tenocytes (rT) and human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) was explored by monitoring adhesive characteristics on films of varying weight/volume ratios coupled to a culture atmosphere of either 21% O2 (air) or 2% O2 (physiological normoxia). The diameter and stiffness of PHBHHx films was established using optical coherence tomography and mechanical testing, respectively. rESULTS: Film thickness correlated directly with weight/volume PHBHHx (r2 = 0.9473) ranging from 0.1 mm (0.8% weight/volume) to 0.19 mm (2.4% weight/volume). Film stiffness on the other hand displayed a biphasic response which increased rapidly at values > 1.6% weight/volume. Optimal cell attachment of rT required films of ≥ 1.6% and ≥ 2.0% weight/volume PHBHHx in 2% O2 and 21% O2 respectively. A qualitative adhesion increase was noted for hMSC in films ≥ 1.2% weight/volume, becoming significant at 2% weight/volume in 2% O2. An increase in cell adhesion was also noted with ≥ 2% weight/volume PHBHHx in 21% O2. Cell migration into films was not observed. CONCLUSION: This evaluation demonstrates that PHBHHx is a suitable polymer for future cell/polymer replacement strategies in tendon repair.

Background and Aims:Patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC) and end-stage renal disease (ESrD) who are dialysisdependent form a unique group,in which safety,tolerability and efficacy of sofosbuvir (SOF)-based direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) need further ***:We performed a retrospective analysis of 14 patients with CHC and ESrD on dialysis who received 15 courses of SOF-based *** evaluated dose escalation to standard-dose SOF in this proof-of-principle ***:Sustained virological response (defined as undetectable viral load at 12 weeks,SVr-12) was achieved in 13 out of the 15 (86.7%) treatment *** (46.6%) patients received reduced half dose as conservative proof-of-principal to mitigate potential *** 13 out of 15 treatment courses,patients completed the designated treatment *** patient was treated twice and developed SVr-12 with the *** patient was lost to follow-up and counted as a *** discontinuations were not due to DAA-related adverse *** were no reports of severe adverse effects or drug ***:We treated CHC patients with ESrD using dose escalation to standard-dose SOF in this proof-of-principle experience and achieved SVr rates comparable to general population.
