Members of the Botryosphaeriaceae are well known fungi associated with dieback,canker and fruit rot on various hosts worldwide,including *** aim of this study was identify a large collection of Botryosphaeriaceae species associated with dieback and stem-end rot of mango in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil,and compare the species in relation to mycelial growth,pathogenicity and virulence.A total of 115 isolates were sampled and based on morphology and DnA sequence data(ITS and EF1-α)seven taxa were identified,namely,Botryosphaeria dothidea,***,Fusicoccum fabicercianum,neofusicoccum parvum,*** ***,neoscytalidium dimidiatum and Pseudofusicoccum *** and *** were the most commonly isolated species,which represented 37%and 33%of all isolates *** is reported for the first time in association with mango diseases *** were significant differences among the species obtained in this study in relation to optimum temperature for mycelial growth and mycelial growth *** species were pathogenic on mango *** were significant differences in virulence among the species,with *** and *** being the most virulent species,while *** was the least virulent.

Knowledge of an animal's home range is a crucial component in making informed management decisions. However, many home range studies are limited by study area size, and therefore may underestimate the size of the home range. In many cases, individuals have been shown to travel outside of the study area and utilize a larger area than estimated by the study design. In this study, data collected by multiple research groups studying bottlenose dolphins on the east coast of Florida were combined to determine how home range estimates increased with increasing study area size. Home range analyses utilized photo-identification data collected from 6 study areas throughout the St Johns River (Sjr; Jacksonville, FL, USA) and adjacent waterways, extending a total of 253 km to the southern end of Mosquito Lagoon in the Indian River Lagoon Estuarine System. Univariate kernel density estimates (KDEs) were computed for individuals with 10 or more sightings (20). Kernels were calculated for the primary study area (Sjr) first, then additional kernels were calculated by combining the Sjr and the next adjacent waterway; this continued in an additive fashion until all study areas were included. The 95% and 50% KDEs calculated for the Sjr alone ranged from 21 to 35 km and 4 to 19 km, respectively. The 95% and 50% KDEs calculated for all combined study areas ranged from 116 to 217 km and 9 to 70 km, respectively. This study illustrates the degree to which home range may be underestimated by the use of limited study areas and demonstrates the benefits of conducting collaborative science.

Mango(Mangifera indica)is a major tropical fruit species cultivated in *** objective of this study was to identify species of Lasiodiplodia associated with dieback and stem-end rot of mango in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil,and compare the species in relation to mycelial growth,pathogenicity and virulence.A total of 120 isolates of Lasiodiplodia were used and identifications were made using a combination of morphology and phylogenetic analysis based on partial translation elongation factor 1-αsequence(EF1-α)and internal transcribed spacers(ITS).The following species were identified:Lasiodiplodia crassispora,***,***,***,***,*** and Lasiodiplodia sp..Lasiodiplodia theobromae was the most frequently isolated species,which represented 41%of all the *** this species had been previously reported on mango in Brazil,while the other species represent the first report associated with mango tree diseases in this *** crassispora is reported for the first time associated with mango diseases *** were significant differences in mycelial growth rates among the Lasiodiplodia species and also in the optimum temperature for *** species of Lasiodiplodia were pathogenic on mango *** were significant differences in virulence among the species,wherein *** and Lasiodiplodia *** the most virulent,while the least virulent were ***,***,*** and ***.

Epilepsy is described as the most common chronic brain disorder. A typical symptom of epilepsy results in uncontrolled convulsions caused by temporary excessive neuronal discharges. Although several new anticon-vulsants have been introduced, some types of seizures have still not been adequately controlled with these new and current therapies. There is an urgent need to develop new anticonvulsant drugs to control the many different types of seizures. Many studies have shown that the epilepsies involve more than one mechanism and therefore may be responsible for the various types of observed seizures. Recently reported studies have shown that a group of newly synthesized 6 Hz active anticonvulsant fluorinated n-benzamide enaminones exhibited selective inhibitions of voltage-gated sodium (nav) channels. nav channels are responsible for the initial inward currents during the depolarization phases of the action potential in excitable cells. The activation and opening of nav channels result in the initial phases of action potentials. We hypothesize that there is an essential pharmacophore model for the interactions between these enaminones and the active sites of nav channels. The research reported here is focused on molecular docking studies of the interactions that occur between the fluorinated n-benzamide enaminones and the nav channels. These studies may open an avenue for designing anticonvulsant drugs by inhibiting nav channels.

AIM: To assess the effects of ischemic preconditioning(IPC, 10-min ischemia/10-min reperfusion) on steatotic liver mitochondrial function after normothermic ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI).METHODS: Sixty male Sprague-Dawley rats were fed8-wk with either control chow or high-fat/high-sucrose diet inducing > 60% mixed steatosis. Three groups(n = 10/group) for each dietary state were tested:(1) the IRI group underwent 60 min partial hepatic ischemia and 4 h reperfusion;(2) the IPC group underwent IPC prior to same standard IRI; and(3) sham underwent t h e s a m e s u r g e r y w i t h o u t I R I o r I P C. H e p a t i c mitochondrial function was analyzed by oxygraphs. Mitochondrial Complex-Ⅰ, Complex-Ⅱ enzyme activity, serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT), and histological injury were ***: Steatotic-IRI livers had a greater increase in ALT(2476 ± 166 vs 1457 ± 103 IU/L, P nd histological injury following IRI compared to the lean liver group. Steatotic-IRI demonstrated lower Complex-Ⅰ?activity at baseline [78.4 ± 2.5 vs 116.4 ± 6.0 nmol/(*** protein), P nd following IRI [28.0 ± 6.2 vs 104.3 ± 12.6 nmol/(*** protein), P nstrated impaired Complex-Ⅰ?function post-IRI compared to the lean liver IRI group. Complex-Ⅱ activity was unaffected by hepatic steatosis or IRI. Lean liver mitochondrial function was unchanged following IRI. IPC normalized ALT and histological injury in steatotic livers but had no effect on overall steatotic liver mitochondrial function or individual mitochondrial complex enzyme activities. COnCLUSIOn: Warm IRI impairs steatotic liver Complex-Ⅰ?activity and function. The protective effects of IPC in steatotic livers may not be mediated through mitochondria.

1990—2004年，邮轮上发生腹泻病（24小时内不低于3次稀便或比个人正常排便次数更多）的报告率降低了2.4%，从每10万旅行天数发生29.2例下降至28.5例。诺如病毒（norovirus）是邮轮暴发胃肠炎的最常见病原体，在该病毒出现新变异株的年份，急性胃肠炎疾病（与稀便、血便、腹部绞痛、头痛、肌肉痛或发热相关的腹泻或呕吐）的发生率升高。为了确定近年邮轮急性胃肠炎的发生率，美国疾病预防控制中心（CDC）对2008—2014年期间在美国管辖权范围内航行的邮轮（定义为载客人数不低于13人且在15天内可抵达美国的客轮）的上报数据进行了分析。同时，为了确定急性胃肠炎暴发原因，CDC回顾了实验室结果，并对时间趋势进行了检验。研究过程中发现，乘客的急性胃肠炎发生率由2008年的每10万旅行天数27.2例下降至2014年的22.3例，而船员的急性胃肠炎发生率基本保持不变（2008年为每10万旅行天数21.3例，2014年为21.6例）。然而，2012年乘客和船员的急性胃肠炎发生率均显著高于2011年与2013年，这可能与新出现的诺如病毒GⅡ.4悉尼株有关。2008—2014年期间，共有邮轮急性胃肠炎暴发报告133起，其中95起（71%）有样本可供检测，检测发现其中92起（97%）是诺如病毒所致。对其中80份样本进行诺如病毒的基因型进行鉴别，其中59份（73.8%）为GⅡ.4病毒株。当乘客在邮轮上出现腹泻或呕吐症状时，应立即向船上的医疗中心报告，以评估症状、给予合理治疗并采取控制措施。

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.
