Background Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction,and septic cardiomyopathy(SCM)may complicate the course of the *** with multidrug-resistant(MDR)pathogens has been linked with worse *** study aims to evaluate SCM in patients with infections caused by different antimicrobial-resistant *** This retrospective study included patients with sepsis/septic shock,hospitalized,and intubated in the intensive care unit of the University Hospital of Larissa between January 2022 and September 2023 with echocardiographic data during the first two days after infection *** patients were divided into two groups:non-MDR-SCM group and MDR-SCM *** cardiac function was compared between the two *** A total of 62 patients were included in the ***-four patients comprised the MDR-SCM and 18 the non-MDR-SCM ***-six patients(41.9%)presented with left ventricular(LV)systolic dysfunction,and≤35%right ventricular fractional area change(RVFAC)was present in 56.4%.LV systolic function was more severely impaired in the non-MDR-SCM group(left ventricular ejection fraction,35.8%±4.9%vs.45.6%±2.4%,P=0.049;LV outflow tract velocity time integral,[10.1±1.4]cm vs.[15.3±0.74]cm,P=0.001;LV-Strain,–9.02%±0.9%vs.–14.02%±0.7%,P=0.001).The MDR-SCM group presented with more severe right ventricular(RV)dilatation(right ventricular end-diastolic area/left ventricular end-diastolic area,0.81±0.03 vs.0.7±0.05,P=0.042)and worse RV systolic function(RVFAC,32.3%±1.9%vs.39.6%±2.7%,P=0.035;tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion,[15.9±0.9]mm vs.[18.1±0.9]mm,P=0.165;systolic tissue Doppler velocity measured at the lateral tricuspid annulus,[9.9±0.5]cm/s vs.[13.1±0.8]cm/s,P=0.002;RV-strain,–11.1%±0.7%vs.–15.1%±0.9%,P=0.002).Conclusion SCM related to MDR infection presents with RV systolic dysfunction predominance,while non-MDR-SCM is mainly depicted with LV systolic dysfunction impairment.

Lycopene is a naturally occurring red carotenoid compound that is found in *** has antioxidant *** content,sugar content and hollowheart resistance are subject to significant genotype×environment interaction(G×e),which makes breeding for these fruit quality traits *** objectives of this study were to(i)evaluate the influence of years and locations on lycopene content,sugar content and hollowheart resistance for a set of watermelon genotypes,and(ii)identify genotypes with high stability for lycopene,sugar,and hollowheart resistance.A diverse set of 40 genotypes was tested over 3 years and 8 locations across the southern United States in replicated,multi-harvest *** was tested in a subset of 10 *** were analyzed using univariate and multivariate stability statistics(BLUP-GGe biplot)using SASGxe and RGxe *** were strong effects of environment as well as G×e interaction on watermelon quality *** the basis of stability measures,genotypes were classified as stable or unstable for each quality trait.'Crimson Sweet'is an inbred line with high quality trait performance as well as trait stability.'Stone Mountain','Tom Watson','Crimson Sweet'and'Minilee'were among the best genotypes for lycopene content,sugar content and hollowheart *** developed a stability chart based on marketable yield and average ranking generated from different stability measures for yield attributes and quality *** chart will assist in choosing parents for improvement of watermelon *** http://***/cucurbit/wmelon/***.

Bulk geochemistry,Sr,Nd,and O-H isotope systematics are reported for the first time on banded iron formation(BIF)-hosted high-grade iron ore at the northwestern segment of Congo Craton(CC).Located in Mbalam iron ore district,Southern Cameroon,Metzimevin iron ore deposit is a hematite-magnetite BIF system,dominated by SiO_(2)+Fe_(2)O_(3)(97.1 to 99.84 wt%),with low concentrations of clastic elements e.g.,Al_(2)O_(3),TiO_(2),and HFSe,depicting a nearly pure chemical *** Ree+Y signature of the iron deposit displays strong positive eu anomaly,strong negative Ce anomaly,and chondritic to superchondritic Y/Ho ratios,suggestive of formation by mixed seawater-high temperature hydrothermal fluids in oxidising ***^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr ratios of the BIF are higher than the maximum^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr evolution curves for all Archean reservoirs(bulk silicate earth,Archean crust and Archean seawater),indicating involvement of continentally-derived components during BIF formation and ***Ɛ_(Nd)(t)(+2.26 to+3.77)and Nd model age indicate that chemical constituents for the BIF were derived from undifferentiated crustal source,between 3.002 and 2.88 *** variable and diverse O and H isotope data(−1.9‰to 17.3‰and−57‰to 136‰respectively)indicate that the Metzimevin iron ore formed initially from magmatic plumes and later enriched by magmatic-metamorphic-modified meteoric *** balance calculations indicate mineralisation by combined leaching and precipitation,with an average iron enrichment factor of>2.67 and SiO_(2)depletion factor of>*** is associated with an overall volume reduction of 28.27%,reflecting net leaching and volume collapse of the BIF protholith.

Imidacloprid is a neonicotinoid insecticide used for managing the Asian citrus psyllid,Diaphorina citri Kuwayama,which serves as vector of phytopathogens causing citrus ***,development of resistance to neonicotinoids among populations of *** has coincided with occasional control failures in the *** objectives of this research were to(1)survey current levels of imidacloprid resistance in Florida citrus;(2)compare feeding behavior between imidacloprid-resistant and susceptible *** using electrical penetration graph recordings,and(3)investigate the possible amplification of insecticide hormoligosis associated with *** surveys confirmed that the susceptibility of *** populations to imidacloprid has decreased in commercial Florida citrus groves compared with a laboratory-susceptible *** 12 generations of selection,resistance to imidacloprid increased by 438 fold compared with the susceptible ***-susceptible *** feeding on citrus exhibited significantly more bouts associated with intercellular pathway(C),phloem penetration(D),phloem salivation(e1),and nonprobing(Np)activities than imidacloprid-resistant ***,there were no differences observed in the frequency or duration of phloem ingestion or xylem feeding between susceptible and resistant *** was no statistical difference in fecundity between resistant and susceptible ***,the fecundity of imidacloprid-susceptible female *** treated with a sublethal concentration of imidacloprid(LC_(25))increased significantly compared with controls,while such hormoligosis was less pronounced among imidacloprid-resistant *** results suggest that imidacloprid-resistant psyllids may cease feeding sooner than susceptible counterparts following sublethal exposure to this insecticide,indicative of a behavioral resistance mechanism.

The Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link explorer(SMILe)is a joint mission of the european Space Agency(eSA)and the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS).Primary goals are investigating the dynamic response of the earth's magnetosphere to the solar wind(SW)impact via simultaneous in situ magnetosheath plasma and magnetic field measurements,X-Ray images of the magnetosheath and magnetic cusps,and UV images of global auroral *** deformations associated with magnetosheath high speed jets(HSJs)under a quasi-parallel interplanetary magnetic field condition are studied using a threedimensional(3-D)global hybrid *** X-ray intensity calculated based on both physical quantities of solar wind proton and oxygen ions is *** obtain key findings concerning deformations at the magnetopause:(1)Magnetopause deformations are highly coherent with the magnetosheath HSJs generated at the quasi-parallel region of the bow shock,(2)X-ray intensities estimated using solar wind h+and self-consistentO7+ions are consistent with each other,(3)Visual spacecraft are employed to check the discrimination ability for capturing magnetopause deformations on Lunar and polar orbits,*** SMILe spacecraft on the polar orbit could be expected to provide opportunities for capturing the global geometry of the magnetopause in the equatorial plane.A striking point is that SMILe has the potential to capture small-scale magnetopause deformations and magnetosheath transients,such as HSJs,at medium altitudes on its *** results also demonstrate that a lunar based imager(e.g.,Lunar environment heliospheric X-ray Imager,LeXI)is expected to observe a localized brightening of the magnetosheath during HSJ events in the meridian *** preliminary results might contribute to the pre-studies for the SMILe and LeXI missions by providing qualitative and quantitative soft X-ray estimates of dayside kinetic processes.

家禽红螨(鸡皮刺螨)严重威胁世界各地的家禽生产和母鸡健康。鸡皮刺螨不但逐渐被认为是疫病重要的载体,而且有越来越多的报告显示其还可攻击包括人类在内的其他宿主,可见这种害虫对经济的影响变得越来越严重。随着世界各地的家禽生产逐渐脱离传统的笼养方式,鸡皮刺螨在禽群中的影响将变得更加普遍,防控将变得更加困难。尽管已有耐药性和治疗失败的报告,但鸡皮刺螨的防治仍以合成杀螨剂为主。目前在鸡皮刺螨及螨虫管理的专项研究报告中已经提出一些替代防治措施。尽管许多替代防治措施仍处于商业化前期阶段,但仍有部分措施已经逐渐进入市场。本综述汇集了日益扩充的鸡皮刺螨的研究,并评估了其当前和未来可供选择的防控措施。得出的结论是,鸡皮刺螨防治的重大进展最有可能来自综合防控的措施,将最新的研究融入到现有的和新型的防治策略中,这种融合将改进的监测和建模相结合,更好地为治疗和干预该病提供信息支持。
