Nanosize ferrite thin fil.s and powders were prepared by extraction-pyrol.sis technique. Thin fil.s Fe2CoO4 with grain size 18 nm and 10 nm have been obtained depending on the pyrol.sis regimes. Fil.s possessed the magnetic and magneto optical.properties. Cobal. ferrite fil.s in nanocrystal.ine form woul. ideal.y suite for magneto-optical.recording media and fine microstructure (crystal.ite size l. prevent from media optical.noise. Magnetic nanoparticl.s of cobal. ferrite with the size of ~ 40 nm were obtained by the same extraction–pyrol.sis technique in a mesoporous sil.con dioxide (MSM-41) mol.cul.r sieve matrix. Synthesized nanoparticl.s are magnetical.y hard material. with a coercive fiel. of Hc(4.2 K) = 9.0 kOe and Hc(300 K) = 1.8 kOe and a reduced remanent magnetization of Mr/Ms(4.2 K) = 0.83 and Mr/Ms(300 K) = 0.49.
