The increasing integration of distributed household photovoltaics(PVs)and electric vehicles(EVs)may further ag gravate voltage violations and unbalance of low-voltage distribu tion networks(LVDNs).DC distribution networks can increase the accommodation of PVs and EVs and mitigate mutilple pow er quality problems by the flexible power regulation capability of voltage source converters.This paper proposes schemes to es tablish hybrid AC/DC LVDNs considering the conversion of the existing three-phase four-wire low-voltage AC systems to DC op eration.The characteristics and DC conversion constraints of typical LVDNs are analyzed.In addition,converter configura tions for typical LVDNs are proposed based on the three-phase four-wire characteristics and quantitative analysis of various DC configurations.Moreover,an optimal planning method of hybrid AC/DC LVDNs is proposed,which is modeled as a bi-level programming model considering the annual investments and three-phase unbalance.Simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed optimal planning method.Sim ulation results show that the proposed optimal planning method can increase the integration of PVs while simultaneously reduc ing issues related to voltage violation and unbalance.

Multifunctional drug delivery systems(DDSs)have shown great prospects in overcoming the heterogeneous barrier of delivery drugs to the complex tumor microenvironment(TME).In this study,multifunctional AS/Ge-pNAB microgels with dual-active targeting,triple environment responsiveness,and fluorescence imaging capability were prepared through a straightforward procedure.This was aimed to improve the antitumor therapeutic application of gambogic acid(GA)based on the biological characteristics of TME.The microgels have a uniform double-layer structure with aptamer in the outer layer which helps in recognizing receptors on the tumor cells.The GA loaded nano-herb exhibited environment-responsive drug release profiles under acidic pH,reductant and high temperature.The nano-herb significantly improved the accumulation of GA in tumor sites through the synergistic combination of the enhanced permeability and retention effect and dual-ligand mediated internalization.Then,it accelerated intracellular drug release and killed tumor cells.Therefore,the nano-herb had specific therapeutic effects on the tumor in vitro and in vivo as they remarkably inhibited tumor growth while depicting optimal biosafety and lower levels of off-target toxicity.Overall,these findings demonstrate the great potential of the multifunctional AS/Ge-pNAB microgels for precisely targeted GA delivery and open a new avenue for the facile preparation of multifunctional DDSs.

In implantable electrophysiological recording systems,the headstage typically comprises neural probes that interface with brain tissue and integrated circuit chips for signal processing.While advancements in MEMS and CMOS technology have significantly improved these components,their interconnection still relies on conventional printed circuit boards and sophisticated adapters.This conventional approach adds considerable weight and volume to the package,especially for high channel count systems.To address this issue,we developed a through-polymer via(TPV)method inspired by the through-silicon via(TSV)technique in advanced three-dimensional packaging.This innovation enables the vertical integration of flexible probes,amplifier chips,and PCBs,realizing a flexible,lightweight,and integrated device(FliD).The total weight of the FliDis only 25%that of its conventional counterparts relying on adapters,which significantly increased the activity levels of animals wearing the FliDs to nearly match the levels of control animals without implants.Furthermore,by incorporating a platinum-iridium alloy as the top layer material for electrical contact,the FliD realizes exceptional electrical performance,enabling in vivo measurements of both local field potentials and individual neuron action potentials.These findings showcase the potential of FliDs in scaling up implantable neural recording systems and mark a significant advancement in the field of neurotechnology.

The perforating phase leads to complex and diverse hydraulic fracture propagation behaviors in laminated shale formations. In this paper, a 2D high-speed imaging scheme which can capture the interaction between perforating phase and natural shale bedding planes was proposed. The phase field method was used to simulate the same conditions as in the experiment for verification and hydraulic fracture propagation mechanism under the competition of perforating phase and bedding planes was discussed.The results indicate that the bedding planes appear to be no influence on fracture propagation while the perforating phase is perpendicular to the bedding planes, and the fracture propagates along the perforating phase without deflection. When the perforating phase algins with the bedding planes, the fracture initiation pressure reserves the lowest value, and no deflection occurs during fracture propagation. When the perforating phase is the angle 45°, 60°and 75°of bedding planes, the bedding planes begin to play a key role on the fracture deflection. The maximum deflection degree is reached at the perforating phase of75°. Numerical simulation provides evidence that the existence of shale bedding planes is not exactly equivalent to anisotropy for fracture propagation and the difference of mechanical properties between different shale layers is the fundamental reason for fracture deflection. The findings help to understand the intrinsic characteristics of shale and provide a theoretical basis for the optimization design of field perforation parameters.

Crack initiation is an essential stage of fatigue process due to its direct effect on fatigue failure.However,for titanium alloys in high-temperature high cycle fatigue(HCF),the crack initiation mechanisms remain unclear and the understanding for the defect sensitivity is also lacking.In this study,a series of fatigue tests and multi-scale microstructure characterizations were conducted to explore the high-temperature failure mechanism,and the coupled effect of temperature and defect on TC17 titanium alloy in HCF.It was found that an oxygen-rich layer(ORL)was produced at specimen surface at elevated temperatures,and brittle fracture of ORL at surface played a critical role for surface crack initiation in HCF.Besides,internal crack initiation with nanograins at high temperatures was a novel finding for the titanium alloy.Based on energy dispersive spectroscopy,electron backscatter diffraction and transmission electron microscope characterizations,the competition between surface and internal crack initiations at high temperatures was related to ORL at surface and dislocation resistance in inner microstructure.The fatigue strengths of smooth specimens decreased at elevated temperatures due to the lower dislocation resistance.While the fatigue strengths of the specimens with defect were not very sensitive to the temperatures.Finally,a fatigue strength model considering the coupled effect of temperature and defect was proposed for TC17titanium alloy.

This study introduces a novel method integrating CO_(2)flooding with radial borehole fracturing for enhanced oil recovery and CO_(2)underground storage,a solution to the limited vertical stimulation reservoir volume in horizontal well fracturing.A numerical model is established to investigate the production rate,reservoir pressure field,and CO_(2)saturation distribution corresponding to changing time of CO_(2)flooding with radial borehole fracturing.A sensitivity analysis on the influence of CO_(2)injection location,layer spacing,pressure difference,borehole number,and hydraulic fractures on oil production and CO_(2)storage is conducted.The CO_(2)flooding process is divided into four stages.Reductions in layer spacing will significantly improve oil production rate and gas storage capacity.However,serious gas channeling can occur when the spacing is lower than 20 m.Increasing the pressure difference between the producer and injector,the borehole number,the hydraulic fracture height,and the fracture width can also increase the oil production rate and gas storage rate.Sensitivity analysis shows that layer spacing and fracture height greatly influence gas storage and oil production.Research outcomes are expected to provide a theoretical basis for the efficient development of shale oil reservoirs in the vertical direction.

Transition metal-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation has been proven to be a powerful approach for the synthesis of chiral alcohols.Herein,a highly efficient and enantioselective transfer hydrogenation of dibenzoheptaheterocyclic ketones catalyzed by an arene-tethered TsDPEN-based Rh(ll)catalyst has been successfully developed,and a variety of dibenzoheptaheterocyclic ketones were reduced by a 1/1 mixture of formic acid and DBU(1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene)with high yields and enantioselectivities.With this method,the asymmetric reduction of 7,8-difluorodibenzo[b,e]thiepin-11(6H)-one has been realized,providing the key intermediate of baloxavir marboxil with>99% yield and>99% ee at a substrate/catalyst molar ratio of 1000.

BACKGROUND Anaplastic lymphoma kinase(ALK)-positive large B-cell lymphoma(LBCL)is an aggressive and rare variant of diffuse LBCL.Herein,we report an uncommon case of stage IE extranodal ALK-positive LBCL initially originating in the bulbar con-junctiva.CASE SUMMARY A 63-year-old woman presented with a mass in the left bulbar conjunctiva that had persisted for six months,accompanied by swelling and pain that had per-sisted for 3 d.Eye examination revealed an 8 mm slightly elevated pink mass in the lower conjunctival sac of the left eye.Microscopically,the tumor was com-posed of large immunoblastic and plasmablastic large lymphoid cells with scattered anaplastic or multinucleated large cells.Immunophenotypically,the neoplastic cells were positive for ALK,CD10,CD138,Kappa,MUM1,BOB.1,OCT-2,CD4,CD45,EMA,CD79a,CD38,and AE1/AE3,and negative for CD20,PAX5,Lambda,BCL6,CD30 and all other T-cell antigens.The results of gene rearrangement tests showed monoclonal IGH/IGK/IGL and TCRD rearran-gements.Fluorescence in situ hybridization studies did not reveal any BCL2,BCL6 or MYC rearrangements.Furthermore,Epstein-Barr virus was not detected by in situ hybridization in the lesions.Based on the histopathological and imaging examinations,the neoplasm was classified as stage IE ALK-positive LBCL.No further treatments were administered.At the 6,15,and 21 mo postoperative follow-up visits,the patient was in good condition,without obvious discomfort.This case represents the first example of primary extranodal ALK-positive LBCL presenting as a bulbar conjunctival mass,which is extremely rare and shares morphological and immunohistochemical features with a variety of other neo-plasms that can result in misdiagnosis.CONCLUSION Awareness of the condition presented in this case report is necessary for early and accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Cycloastragenol induces apoptosis and protective autophagy through AMPK/ULK1/mTOR axis in human non-small cell lung cancer cell lines

Objective:Studies have demonstrated that cycloastragenol induces antitumor effects in prostate, colorectal and gastric cancers; however, its efficacy for inhibiting the proliferation of lung cancer cells is largely unexplored. This study explores the efficacy of cycloastragenol for inhibiting non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and elucidates the underlying molecular mechanisms.Methods:The effects of cycloastragenol on lung cancer cell proliferation were assessed using an adenosine triphosphate monitoring system based on firefly luciferase and clonogenic formation assays.Cycloastragenol-induced apoptosis in lung cancer cells was evaluated using dual staining flow cytometry with an annexin V-fluorescein isothiocyanate/propidium iodide kit. To elucidate the role of cycloastragenol in the induction of apoptosis, apoptosis-related proteins were examined using Western blots.Immunofluorescence and Western blotting were used to determine whether cycloastragenol could induce autophagy in lung cancer cells. genetic techniques, including small interfering RNA technology,were used to investigate the underlying mechanisms. The effects against lung cancer and biosafety of cycloastragenol were evaluated using a mouse subcutaneous tumor model.Results:Cycloastragenol triggered both autophagy and apoptosis. Specifically, cycloastragenol promoted apoptosis by facilitating the accumulation of phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate-induced protein 1(NOXA), a critical apoptosis-related protein. Moreover, cycloastragenol induced a protective autophagy response through modulation of the adenosine 5?-monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK)/unc-51-like autophagy-activating kinase (ULK1)/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway.Conclusion:Our study sheds new light on the antitumor efficacy and mechanism of action of cycloastragenol in NSCLC. This insight provides a scientific basis for exploring combination therapies that use cycloastragenol and inhibiting the AMPK/ULK1/mTOR pathway as a promising approach to combating lung cancer.
