We propose a two-phase-SQP(Sequential Quadratic Programming)algorithm for equality-constrained optimization *** this paper,an iteration process is developed,and at each iteration,two quadratic sub-problems are *** is proved that,under some suitable assumptions and without computing further higher-order derivatives,this iteration process achieves higher-order local convergence property in comparison to Newton-SQP *** advantage and a note on l1 merit function associated to the method are provided.

BACKGROUND Addressing oculoplastic conditions in the preoperative period ensures both the safety and functional success of any ophthalmic *** oculoplastic conditions,like nasolacrimal duct obstruction,have been extensively studied,whereas others,like eyelid malposition and thyroid eye disease,have received minimal or no *** To investigate the current practice patterns among ophthalmologists while treating concomitant oculoplastic conditions before any subspecialty ophthalmic *** A cross-sectional survey was disseminated among ophthalmologists all over *** survey included questions related to pre-operative evaluation,anaesthetic and surgical techniques preferred,post-operative care,the use of adjunctive therapies,and patient follow-up *** A total of 180 ophthalmologists responded to the *** practitioners(89%)felt that the ROPLAS test was sufficient during pre-operative evaluation before any subspecialty surgery was *** most common surgical techniques employed were lacrimal drainage procedures(Dacryocystorhinostomy)(63.3%),eyelid malposition repair(36.9%),and ptosis repair(58.7%).Post-operatively,47.7%of respondents emphasized that at least a 4-week gap should be maintained after lacrimal drainage procedures and eyelid ***-seven percent of ophthalmologists felt that topical anaesthetic procedures should be preferred while performing ocular surgeries in thyroid eye disease *** Approximately 50%of ophthalmologists handle prevalent oculoplastic issues themselves,seeking the expertise of an oculoplastic surgeon under particular *** ophthalmologists still favor using ROPLAS as a preliminary screening method before proceeding with cataract *** conditions and thyroid eye disease are not as commonly addressed before subspecialty procedures compared to issues like nasolacrimal duct obstruction and periocular infections.

The present study analyzes the reflection and transmission phenomenon of water-waves in a two-layer ice-covered system. The upper layer is covered by an ice-sheet, whereas the bottom of the lower layer is undulated and permeable. By using regular perturbation analysis and Fourier transform technique, the problem is solved and the first order reflection and transmission coefficients are determined. It is found that these coefficients depend on the shape as well as the permeability of the undulating bottom. Therefore, from the practical viewpoint, an undulating bottom topography is considered to determine all the aforesaid coefficients. The role of various system parameters, such as porosity, angle of incidence and ice parameters, are discussed to analyze the transformation of incident water wave energy from one layer to another layer. The outcomes are demonstrated in graphical forms.

Several challenges are encountered while integrating microgrids(MGs)with an existing utility *** are low inertia,intermittent nature of renewable energy resources(RESs),sensor and actuator faults,unbalanced and nonlinear loads,supply-demand mismatch,and uncertain switching functions of the power electronic *** control is fully dependent on the communication network,which is also susceptible to different types of failures such as noise in communication links,communication delay,limited bandwidth,packet dropout,and various malicious cyber *** few papers are available in the literature that focus on the review of control schemes for ***,this paper presents a comprehensive review of different robust and adaptive control schemes that address the challenges encountered due to communication constraints,uncertainties,and disturbances for different MG topologies such as AC,DC,and hybrid AC/DC MGs,as well as the current research trends in the field of robust and adaptive *** can be concluded that to achieve control objectives of MG and overcome the existing challenges,robust and adaptive controllers show significantly improved performance in terms of transient and steady-state behavior and robustness as compared to traditional controllers.

Increasing demands for improvement in power quality and power capacity have contributed to development of switched-capacitor multilevel inverters(SCMLIs).Recently developed SCMLIs enable single-stage voltage boosting,as well as inversion resulting in step-up ac *** reduction in number of components,this paper introduces a boost type singlesource nine-level(9-level)SCMLI employing two capacitors and three *** to the series-parallel connection process,capacitor voltages are inherently balanced and assist in quadruple voltage boosting from a *** voltage stress across semiconductor devices is limited to twice input voltage *** a minimum number of components,the proposed SCMLI can be extended to increase voltage levels without additional dc *** extension module adds two additional voltage steps in the output while maintaining maximum voltage stress the same as 9-level *** by in-depth analysis of circuit operation and power losses,a thorough comparison of recently developed single-phase 9-level MLIs is carried out,which verifies design *** simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the prominent features of the 9-level SCMLI under dynamic operating conditions.

Flooding is one of the most hazardous natural disasters and a major stress constraint to rice production throughout the world,which results in huge economic *** one-fourth of the global rice crops(approximately 40 million hectares)are grown in rainfed lowland plots that are prone to seasonal flooding.A great progress has been made during last two decades in our understanding of the mechanisms involved in adaptation and tolerance to flooding/submergence in *** this review,we summarized the physiological and molecular mechanisms that contribute to tolerance of flooding/submergence in *** also covered various features of flooding stress with special reference to rice plants,*** types of flooding stress,environmental characterisation of flood water,impact of flooding stress on rice plant and their morphological,physiological and metabolic responses under flooding.A brief discussion on the tolerance mechanism in rice exhibited to different types of flooding will be focused for the future crop improvement programme for development of flooding tolerant rice variety.

Intrinsically disordered proteins(IDPs)are an important class of proteins in all domains of life for their functional ***,how nature has shaped the disorder potential of prokaryotic and eukaryotic proteins is still not clearly *** generated sequences are free of any selective constraints,thus these sequences are commonly used as null *** different types of random protein models,here we seek to understand how the disorder potential of natural eukaryotic and prokaryotic proteins differs from random *** proteomewide disorder content between real and random sequences of 12 model organisms,we noticed that eukaryotic proteins are enriched in disordered regions compared to random sequences,but in prokaryotes such regions are *** analyzing the position-wise disorder profile,we show that there is a generally higher disorder near the N-and C-terminal regions of eukaryotic proteins as compared to the random models;however,either no or a weak such trend was found in prokaryotic ***,here we show that this preference is not caused by the amino acid or nucleotide composition at the respective ***,these regions were found to be endowed with a higher fraction of protein-protein binding sites,suggesting their functional *** discuss several possible explanations for this pattern,such as improving the efficiency of protein-protein interaction,ribosome movement during translation,and post-translational ***,further studies are needed to clearly understand the biophysical mechanisms causing the trend.

A Simplified Grey Wolf Optimizer(SGWO)is suggested for resolving optimization *** simplification in the original Grey Wolf Optimizer(GWO)method is introduced by ignoring the worst category wolves while giving priority to the better wolves during the search *** advantage of the presented SGWO over GWO is a better solution taking less execution time and is demonstrated by taking unimodal,multimodal,and fixed dimension test *** results are also contrasted to the Gravitational Search Algorithm,the Particle Swarm Optimization,and the Sine Cosine Algorithm and this shows the superiority of the proposed SGWO *** application in a Distributed Power Generation System(DPGS)with energy storage is then considered by designing an Adaptive Fuzzy PID(AFPID)controller using the suggested SGWO method for frequency *** DPGS contains renewable generation such as photovoltaic,wind,and storage elements such as battery and flywheel,in addition to plug-in electric *** is demonstrated that the SGWO method is superior to the GWO method in the optimal controller design *** is also seen that SGWO based AFPID controller is highly efficacious in regulating the frequency compared to the standard PID controller.A sensitivity study is also performed to examine the impact of the unpredictability in the parameters of the investigated system on system ***,the novelty of the paper is demonstrated by comparing with the existing publications in an extensively used two-area test system.
