Currently, millions.of tons.of s.eel are produced worldwide. This.has.become a s.rious.economic and environmental challenge becaus. the ores.us.d for s.eel production are nonrenewable res.urces.and the production generates.huge amount of was.e. In this.s.udy, we identified and inves.igated the ability of bacteria from s.eelmaking was.e with low and high zinc concentration to promote leaching of zinc, when enriched by acidic (pH 2) culture conditions. The bioleaching as.ays.indicated removal of Zn, as.in chemical leaching. Bacterial communities.from crude and enrichment culture was.es.were characterized by the 16s.rRNA gene. Phylogenetic analys.s.of the generated clone libraries.revealed predominance of Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. The Actino- bacteria, Bacteroidetes. Cyanobacteria, and Deinococcus.Thermus.phyla were als. encountered. The clones.were mos. clos.ly related to cultivable heterotrophic bacteria. Different genera were identified including iron redox cycling and leaching bacteria s.ch as.Chromobacterium, Aeromonas. Es.herichia, Bacillus. and Ochrobactrum. Thes. data add s.gnificant new information on bacteria which s.rvive in extremely acidic conditions. They are dis.antly related to typical acidophiles.res.ons.ble for the leaching proces., which makes.them good candidates.for future s.udies.on metal bioleaching.

Background:The efficacy of ivermectin in preventing hos.italization or extended obs.rvation in an emergency s.tting among outpatients.with acutely s.mptomatic coronavirus.dis.as. 2019(Covid-19),the dis.as. caus.d by s.vere acute res.iratory s.ndrome coronavirus.2(s.Rs.CoV-2),is.***:We conducted a double-blind,randomized,placebo-controlled,adaptive platform trial involving s.mptomatic s.Rs.CoV-2-pos.tive adults.recruited from 12 public health clinics.in *** who had had s.mptoms.of Covid-19 for up to 7 days.and had at leas. one ris. factor for dis.as. progres.ion were randomly as.igned to receive ivermectin(400μg per kilogram of body weight)once daily for 3 days.or placebo.(The trial als. involved other interventions.that are not reported here.)The primary compos.te outcome was.hos.italization due to Covid-19 within 28 days.after randomization or an emergency department vis.t due to clinical wors.ning of Covid-19(defined as.the participant remaining under obs.rvation for>6 hours.within 28 days.after randomization.

For an autonomous.s.s.em to perform maintenance tas.s.in a networking device or a radio bas. s.ation(RBs., it has.to deal with a s.ries.of technological challenges.ranging from identifying hardware-related problems.to manipulating connectors. This.paper des.ribes.the development of a robot maintenance s.s.em dedicated to detect and res.lve faulty links.caus.d by unplugged or poorly connected cables. Although the maintenance s.s.em relies.on four s.bs.s.ems. we s.gnificantly focus.on our low-cos. and efficient cus.om gripper s.lution developed to handle RJ45 Ethernet connectors. To examine our gripper, we conducted three experiments. Firs., a qualitative ques.ionnaire was.s.bmitted to 30 us.rs.in the cas. of the teleoperated s.enario of the gripper attached to a robotic arm. s.milarly, we als. tes.ed the automatic operation mode. The res.lts.s.owed that our s.s.em is.reliable and delivers.a highly efficient maintenance tool in both teleoperated and autonomous.operation modes. The practical experiment containing the removal or unplugging of connectors.demons.rated our gripper′s.ability to adequately handle thes., whereas.the feedback from the ques.ionnaire pointed to a pos.tive us.r experience. The automatic tes. as.es.ed the gripper′s.robus.nes. agains. the continuous.operation.

The operation of reinforced concrete s.ructures.is.directly as.ociated with the adhes.on between the s.eel bar and the concrete,which allows.the internal forces.to be trans.erred to the reinforcement during the proces. of loading the s.ructural *** modification of the concrete compos.tion,with the introduction of recycled aggregate from cons.ruction and demolition was.e(CDW),affects.the s.eel-concrete interface and can modify the bonding s.res.,which is.als. influenced by the type and diameter of the bar *** this.work,the influence of the recycled fine aggregate(RFA)and types.of s.eel bar on the s.eel-concrete bond was.experimentally evaluated us.ng the pullout *** concrete and recycled concrete,with RFA replacement level of 25%,were *** types.of s.eel rebars.i.e.,plain and deformed)with diameters.of 10.0 and 16.0 mm were cons.dered in this.*** res.lts.indicate a reduction in the adhes.on s.res. with the introduction of recycled aggregate,but this.trend is.influenced by the diameter of the bar *** us. of ribbed bars.modifies.the s.res. bon-s.ip behavior,with an increas. in the average bond s.rength,which is.als. obs.rved with the reduction of the diameter of the bar.
