In this work,a Model-Based Systems Engineering approach based on Sys ML is *** approach is used for the capture and the definition of functional requirements in avionics *** motivation of this work is triple:guide the capture of functional requirements,validate these functional requirements through functional simulation,and verify efficiently the consistency of these functional *** proposed approach is decomposed into several steps that are detailed to go from conceptual model of avionics domain to a formal functional model that can be simulated in its operating *** achieve this work,a subset of Sys ML has been used as an intermediate modelling language to ensure progressive transformation that can be understood and agreed by system *** concepts are introduced to ensure theoretical consistency of the *** addition,transformation rules are defined and the mappings between concepts of ARP4754 A civil aircraft guidelines and Sys ML are formalized through *** resulting formalization enables engineers to perform functional simulation of the top-level functional architecture extracted from operational ***,the approach has been tested on an industrial avionics system called the Onboard Maintenance System.

Polymyomectomy during Cesarean Section at the University Hospital Center of Brazzaville (Congo): About a Case and Review of the Literature

Introduction: Myomectomy during cesarean section has long been a controversial subject. The increased risk of intraoperative hemorrhage and potential hysterectomy has led many teams to contraindicate it, postponing it three to six months after delivery, thus giving more time for uterine involution, myoma shrinkage and reducing operative time and blood loss. Clinical Observation: We report the case of a polymyomectomy after use of a segmental tourniquet and bilateral ligation of the hypogastric arteries during a cesarean section for hemorrhagic placenta previa at the end of a spontaneous pregnancy of 28 weeks of amenorrhea in a 42-year-old nulliparous primigravida patient. Conclusion: Polymyomectomy during cesarean section is possible and requires knowledge of preventive hemostasis techniques and surgical experience.

A composite In-Pb:carbon was successfully synthetized by a two-step mechanochemical synthesis in order to obtain an adequate particles size and structure to investigate the electrochemical reactivity of the In-Pb solid solution towards Mg.A potential synergetic coupling of electroactive elements In and Pb was examined using electrochemical and ex situ X-ray diffraction *** potential profile of the solid solution indicates the formation of Mg_(2)Pb and Mg ***,the diffraction study suggests a peculiar electrochemically-driven amorphization of Mg In during the magnesiation,in strong contrast to Mg In crystallization in In-based and In Bi-based electrodes reported in the *** In and Pb favors the amorphization of Mg In and a high first magnesiation capacity of about 550 m Ah g^(-1),but is thereafter detrimental to the material’s *** results emphasize the possible influence of electrochemically-driven amorphization and crystallization processes on electrochemical performance of battery materials.

The study presented hereby investigates experimentally and with CFD simulations the gas distribution effect on the hydrodynamic of a Geldart Group A turbulent fluidized bed. Experiments were carried out on a cold flow fluidized bed column with an even and uneven gas distribution. Local solid volume fraction profiles were measured using optical probes at different bed heights and along two radial directions. Optical probe measurements allow catching a clear hydrodynamic difference between both even and uneven gas distributions. These results were then used to assess CFD simulations with the code Barracuda^(TM) (MP-PIC approach). It is noteworthy that the choice of drag correlation and boundary conditions strongly influences the agreement between the experimental and CFD results. Once the correct parameters are chosen, CFD simulations captured the effect of gas distribution changes.

Background: In the contxt of ecosystem management, the present study aims to compare the natural and the present-day forested landscapes of a large territory in Quebec(Canada). Using contemporary and long-term fire cycles, each natural forst landscape is defined according to the variability of its structure and composition, and compared to the present-day landscape. This analysis was conducted to address the question of whether human activities have moved these ecosystems outside the range of natural landscape ***: The study encompassed a forested area of 175 000 km2 divided into 14 landscapes. Using a framework that integrates fire cycles, age structure and forest dynamics, we characterized the forest composition and age structures that resulted from three historical fire cycles(110,140, and 180 years) representative of the boreal forest of eastern Canada. The modeled natural landscapes were compared with present-day landscapes in regard to the proportion of old-growth forests(landscape level) and the proportion of late-successional forest stands(landscape level and potential vegetation type).Results: Four landscapes(39%) remain within their natural range of variability. In contrast, nine landscapes(54%)show a large gap between natural and present-day landscapes. These nine are located in the southern portion of the study area, and are mainly associated with Abies-Betula vegetation where human activities have contributed to a strong increase in the proportion of Populus tremuloides stands(early-successional stages) and a decrease of oldgrowth forest stands(more than 100 years old). Contraception among Women Aged 35 and over at the University Hospital Center of Brazzaville

Objective: To study contraception among women aged 35 and over at the University Hospital of Brazzaville. Population and Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study, conducted from April 1st 2017 to january 31st 2022 in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the University Hospital of Brazzaville, including women aged 35 years and over who had received a contraceptive method. The study variables were sociodemographic, reproductive, clinical and contraceptive method related. Results: Two hundred and thirty customers were collected during the study period, i.e., 10.8% of the patients who received contraception. They were 38.4 ± 3 years old on average, had secondary education (46.1%), were of low socioeconomic status (54.3%), lived with a partner (98.7%) and came from an urban area (97.4%). They were multigravida (85.2%), and multiparous (63.9%) with an average of 4 living children. The indications were of two types: convenience (26.2%) and medical (73.8%). The most commonly used contraceptives were implants (72.2%) and injectable progestin (20.5%). Conclusion: The indication for contraception for women over 35 years of age at the University Hospital Center of Brazzaville is more medical, with the use of long-acting contraceptives.

Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of Mothers Regarding Breastfeeding in the University Hospital Center of Brazzaville (Republic of Congo)

Objective: To analyze the knowledge, attitudes and practices of mothers about breastfeeding at the Brazzaville University Hospital Center. Population and Methods: Analytical KAP study, conducted from February 1 to May 31, 2019, including exclusively manner mothers who have started breastfeeding for at least 4 months and at most 24 months in accordance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization. The study variables were related to socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and practices. Results: One hundred and forty mothers were questioned. They were of a median age of 30, multiparous (61.5%), in a couple (78.6%), with gainful activity (47.9%). They had enough knowledge (87.1%) but harmful in 26.5% of cases, adapted attitudes (95%) with answers of different certainties, and bad practices (60%). Knowledge did not influence attitudes (p > 0.2). Knowledge and attitudes influenced practices (p Conclusion: An educational strategy on mothers’ knowledge and attitudes towards breastfeeding would help improve their breastfeeding practices.

In the last decade,the use of magnesium and its alloys as biodegradable implant materials has become increasingly ***,surface modification of these materials to control the degradation rate in the early stages of healing and improve their biocompatibility is crucial to the successful implementation of magnesium alloy implants in *** adhesion and proliferation at the implant surface is a vital factor for successful integration of a biomaterial within the *** accomplish this task by binding to ligands such as the arginine-glycine-aspartic acid peptide sequence(RGD)commonly found on adhesive proteins present in the extracellular *** this paper,we report a biomimetic surface modification strategy involving deposition of a mixed organosilane layer on Mg AZ31 followed by covalent immobilization of RGD peptides through a heterobifunctional cross-linker *** results indicate that with optimized deposition conditions uniform organosilane coatings were successfully deposited on the Mg AZ31 ***,we have demonstrated that the surface density of immobilized RGD can be varied by depositing organosilane layers from solutions containing two different organosilanes in specified *** in cell adhesion and cell proliferation were observed on the surface modified substrates.

Magnesium and its alloys are promising candidates for a new generation of biodegradable metals in orthopaedic applications due to their excellent biocompatibility,biodegradability,and mechanical properties that are similar to natural ***,direct in vitro assessment of these materials in the presence of cells is complicated by degradation products from the alloy that lead to a false positive for the most commonly used cell adhesion and cell proliferation *** this paper,a cyanine dye was used to quantitatively evaluate the in vitro biocompatibility of a Mg AZ31 alloy by both direct and indirect *** cytotoxicity of the corrosion products was evaluated via an indirect method;a 25%decrease in cell viability compared to control samples was ***,direct assessment of cell adhesion and proliferation showed a statistically significant increase in cell number at the surface after 72 *** addition,the degradation rate and surface characteristics of the Mg AZ31 alloy were evaluated for both direct and indirect *** degradation rate was unaffected by the presence of cells while evidence of an increase in calcium phosphate deposition on the magnesium alloy surface in the presence of cells was *** study demonstrates that a cyanine dye based assay provides a more accurate assessment of the overall in vitro biocompatibility of biodegradable metals than the more commonly used assays reported in the literature to date.
