Many-body interactions between polymer-grafted nanoparticles(NPs)play a key role in promoting their assembly into low-dimensional structures within polymer melts,even when the particles are spherical and isotropically ***,capturing such interactions in simulations of NP assembly is very challenging because explicit modeling of the polymer grafts and melt chains is highly computationally expensive,even using coarse-grained ***,we develop a many-body potential for describing the effective interactions between spherical polymer-grafted NPs in a polymer matrix through a machine-learning *** approach involves using permutationally invariant polynomials to fit two-and three-body interactions derived from the potential of mean force *** potential developed here reduces the computational cost by several orders of magnitude,thereby,allowing us to explore assembly behavior over large length and time *** show that the potential not only reproduces previously known assembled phases such as 1D strings and 2D hexagonal sheets,which generally cannot be achieved using isotropic two-body potentials,but can also help discover interesting phases such as networks,clusters,and *** demonstrate how each of these assembly morphologies intrinsically arises from a competition between two-and three-body *** approach for deriving many-body effective potentials can be readily extended to other colloidal systems,enabling researchers to make accurate predictions of their behavior and dissect the role of individual interaction energy terms of the overall potential in the observed behavior.

Precise diagnosis and immunity to viruses,such as severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(sARs-CoV-2)and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERs-CoV)is achieved by the detection of the viral antigens and/or corresponding antibodies,***,a widely used antigen detection methods,such as polymerase chain reaction(PCR),are complex,expensive,and time-consuming Furthermore,the antibody test that detects an asymptomatic infection and immunity is usually performed separately and exhibits relatively low *** achieve a simplified,rapid,and accurate diagnosis,we have demonstrated an indium gallium zinc oxide(IGZO)-based biosensor field-effect transistor(bio-FET)that can simultaneously detect spike proteins and antibodies with a limit of detection(LOD)of 1 pg mL–1 and 200 ng mL–1,respectively using a single assay in less than 20 min by integrat-ing microfluidic channels and artificial neural networks(ANNs).The near-sensor ANN-aided classification provides high diagnosis accuracy(>93%)with significantly reduced processing time(0.62%)and energy consumption(5.64%)compared to the software-based *** believe that the development of rapid and accurate diagnosis system for the viral antigens and antibodies detec-tion will play a crucial role in preventing global viral outbreaks.

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular outcome trials have demonstrated cardiovascular safety of glimepiride(a sulfonylureas) against dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor ***(another newer sulfonylureas) has shown similar glycemic efficacy and 50% decreased risk of hypoglycemia compared to *** Considering the absence of cardiovascular outcome trials for gliclazide, we decided to conduct a systematic review of the literature to assess the cardiovascular(CV) safety by assessing the risk for major adverse CV events and hypoglycemia risk of gliclazide vs linagliptin in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2D).METHODs This systematic review followed the current Preferred Reporting Items for systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines to analyze all the clinical studies published from 2008 that compared the two drugs in patients with T2D with no risk of CV disease(CVD). We included only evidence designated high quality by the Oxford Center for Evidence-based Medicine-Levels of *** Eight clinical studies were included in the narrative descriptive analysis(gliclazide: 5 and linagliptin: 3). The CV safety of gliclazide in the Action in Diabetes and Vascular Disease: Preterax and Diamicron Modified Release Controlled Evaluation trial and of linagliptin in the Cardiovascular and Renal Microvascular Outcome study With Linagliptin(CARMELINA) and CARdiovascular Outcome study of LINAgliptin vs glimepiride in patients with T2D(CAROLINA)trials were excluded from the comparative analysis as these trials demonstrated CV and hypoglycemia benefits in patients at high risk of CVD. However, since these are landmark trials,they were discussed in brief to show the CV benefits and low hypoglycemia risk of gliclazide and linagliptin. This paper proposes and validates a modified cellular automata model for determining interaction rate （i.e. number of car-following/overtaking instances） using traffic flow data measured in the field. The proposed model considers lateral position preference by each vehicle type and introduces a position preference parameter fl in the model which facilitates gradual drifting towards preferred position on road, even if the gap in front is sufficient. Additionally, the model also improves upon the conven- tional model by calculating safe front and back gap dynamically based on speed and deceleration properties of leader and follower vehicles. sensitivity analysis was carried out to determine the effect of β on vehicular interac- tions and the model was calibrated and validated using interaction rates observed in the field. Paired tests were conducted to determine the determining interaction rates validity of the model in Results of the simulations show that there is a parabolic relationship between area occupancy and interaction rate of different vehicle types. The model performed satisfactorily as the simulated interaction rate between different vehicle types were found to be statistically similar to those observed in field. Also, as expected, the interaction rate between light motor vehicles （LMVs） and heavy motor vehicles （HMVs） were found to be higher than that between LMVs and three wheelers because LMVs and HMVs share the same lane. This could not be done using conventional CA models as lateral movement rules were dictated by only speeds and gaps. so, in conventional models, the vehicles would end up in positions which are not realistic. The position preference parameter introduced in this model motivates vehicles to stay in their preferred positions. This study demonstrates the use of interaction rate as a measure to validate micro- scopic traffic flow models.

Unusual presentation of glomus tympanicum tumour: New bone formation in the middle ear

The objective of this study is to increase awareness of the rare presentation, diagnostic difficulties and management of glomus tympanicum of the middle ear. A 49 years old male, with a background of hypertension and epilepsy, presented with a two month history of left sided conductive hearing loss, pulsatile tinnitus and headache. Clinically and radiologically a diagnosis of glomus tympanicum was made. Intraoperatively, extensive osteogenesis of the middle ear resulting in ossicular fixation and erosion was found. This patient required a two stage operation for full clearance of disease. A stapedectomy drill was used to drill off the bony overgrowth surrounding the ossicles resulting in improved hearing thresholds and full clearance of the disease at two year follow up. Glomus tympanicum can result in new bone formation in the middle ear with resultant ossicular fixation and conductive hearing loss. This can be effectively treated surgically with restoration of hearing.
