A Comprehensive Approach to Investigate Co_(2)Reduction Electrocatalysts at High Current Densities

Bimetallic Cu-In hybrid electrocatalysts are promising noble metal-free catalysts for selective electrochemical Co_(2) reduction reaction(ECo_(2) RR).Most reports show Cu-In catalysts are selective towards Co evolutio ***,few show similarly high selectivity towards *** we fabricated composition tunable Cu-In hydroxides(Cu_xIn_y-oH) by the hydrothermal method and studied their composition effect on electrochemical Co_(2) reduction in detail. We found that the selectivity of Co_(2) reduction products shifted from Co to formate when the content of In increased in the Cu_xIn_y-oH *** Cu rich electrocatalyst mostly produced Co,which could achieve a Faradaic efficiency(FE) to 75.8% at-0.59 V ***(Cu_(76)In_(24)based electrocatalysts).In comparison,the In rich electrocatalysts selectively produced formate,which possessed the FE of formate up to 85% at-1.01 V *** work systematically illustrates the composition effect on hybrid catalysts,and provides insights into the design of highly selective catalysts for ECo_(2) RR.

Integrated analysis of public datasets for the discovery and validation of survival-associated genes in solid tumors

Identifying genes with prognostic significance that can act as biomarkers in solid tumors can help stratify patients and uncover novel therapy ***,our goal was to expand our previous ranking analysis of survival-associated genes in various solid tumors to include colon cancer specimens with available transcriptomic and clinical data.A Gene Expression omnibus search was performed to identify available datasets with clinical data and raw gene expression measurements.A combined database was set up and integrated into our Kaplan-Meier plotter,making it possible to identify genes with expression changes linked to altered *** a demonstration of the utility of the platform,the most powerful genes linked to overall survival in colon cancer were identified using uni-and multivariate Cox regression *** combined colon cancer database includes 2,137 tumor samples from 17 independent *** most significant genes associated with relapse-free survival with a false discovery rate below 1%in colon cancer carcinoma were RBPMS(hazard rate[HR]=2.52),TIMP1(HR=2.44),and CoL4A2(HR=2.36).The three strongest genes associated with shorter survival in stage II colon cancer include CSF1R(HR=2.86),FLnA(HR=2.88),and TPBG(HR=2.65).In summary,a new integrated database for colon cancer is presented.A colon cancer analysis subsystem was integrated into our Kaplan-Meier plotter that can be used to mine the entire database(https://***).The portal has the potential to be employed for the identification and prioritization of promising biomarkers and therapeutic target candidates in multiple solid tumors including,among others,breast,lung,ovarian,gastric,pancreatic,and colon cancers.

Accuracy of tree mapping based on hand-held laser scanning comparing leaf-on and leaf-off conditions in mixed forests

The use of mobile laser scanning to survey forest ecosystems is a promising,scalable technology to describe forest 3D structures at high *** confirm the con-sistency in the retrieval of forest structural parameters using hand-held laser scanning(HLS),before operationalizing the method,confirming the data is *** analyzed the per-formance of tree-level mapping based on HLS under differ-ent phenology conditions on a mixed forest in western Spain comprising Pinus pinaster and two deciduous species,Alnus glutinosa and Quercus *** area was surveyed twice during the growing season(July 2022)and once in the deciduous season(February 2022)using several scan-ning *** reference data(418 trees,15 snags)was used to calibrate the HLS data and to assess the influence of phenology when converting 3D data into tree-level attrib-utes(DBH,height and volume).The HLS-based workflow was robust at isolating tree positions and recognizing stems despite changes in ***-six percent of all pairs matched below 65 *** DBH,phenology barely altered *** observed a strong agreement when comparing HLS-based tree height *** values exceeded 2 m when comparing height measurements,confirming height data should be carefully used as reference in remote sensing-based inventories,especially for deciduous *** volume was more precise for pines(r=0.95,and rela-tive RMSE=21.3–23.8%)compared to deciduous species(r=0.91–0.96,and relative RMSE=27.3–30.5%).HLS data and the forest structural complexity tool performed remark-ably,especially in tree positioning considering mixed forests and mixed phenology conditions.

Comparison of Perovskite Systems Based on AFeo_(3)(A=Ce,La,Y)in Co_(2) Hydrogenation to Co

Co_(2) is the most cost-eff ective and abundant carbon resource,while the reverse water-gas reaction(rWGS)is one of the most eff ective methods of Co_(2) *** work presents a comparative study of rWGS activity for perovskite systems based on AFeo_(3)(where A=Ce,La,Y).These systems were synthesized by solution combustion synthesis(SCS)with diff erent ratios of fuel(glycine)and oxidizer(φ),diff erent amounts of nH 4 no_(3),and the addition of alumina or silica as *** techniques,including X-ray diff raction analysis,thermogravimetric analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,n 2-physisorption,H_(2) temper-ature-programmed reduction,temperature-programmed desorption of H_(2) and Co_(2),Raman spectroscopy,and in situ FTIR,were used to relate the physicochemical properties with the catalytic performance of the obtained *** specifi c perovskite-containing system(either bulk or supported)has its own optimalφand nH_(4) no_(3) amount to achieve the highest yield and dispersion of the perovskite *** all synthesized systems,bulk SCS-derived La-Fe-o systems showed the highest resistance to reducing environments and the easiest hydrogen desorption,outperforming La-Fe-o produced by solgel combustion(SGC).Co_(2) conversion into Co at 600°C for bulk ferrite systems,depending on the A-cation type and preparation method,follows the order La(SGC)nces in properties between La-Fe-o obtained by the SCS and SGC methods can be attributed to diff erent ratios of oxygen and lanthanum vacancy contributions,hydroxyl coverage,morphology,and free iron oxide *** situ FTIR data revealed that Co_(2) hydrogenation occurs through formates generated under reaction conditions on the bulk system based on La-Fe-o,obtained by the SCS method.γ-Al_(2)o_(3) improves the dispersion of CeFeo_(3) and LaFeo_(3) phases,the specifi c surface area,and the quant

Transcriptomic responses to drought stress in the Patagonian southern beech nothofagus alpina

Background Deciphering the genetic architecture of drought tolerance could allow the candidate genes identification responding to water stress. In the Andean Patagonian forest, the genus nothofagus represents an ecologically relevant species to be included in different genomic studies. These studies are scarce in South American ecosystems however represent an important source of genomic data in order to interpret future climate-change environment scenarios of these emblematic forests. Here, we achieved the assemblage of the transcriptome of n. alpina while searching for key genes of activated or suppressed metabolic pathways in response to drought *** De novo transcriptome assembly resulted in 104,030 transcripts. Following confirmation of drought conditions, based on reduction of leaf water potential and stomatal conductance, a differential gene expression analysis resulted in 2720 significantly expressed genes(1601 up-regulated and 1119 down-regulated). Enrichment analysis(over-representation analysis and gene set enrichment analysis) resulted in more than one hundred stress-responsive term ontologies(i.e. biological processes) and pathways. Terms such as response to abscisic acid and pathways such as plant hormone signal transduction or starch and sucrose metabolism were over-represented. Protein–protein interaction assessment resulted in networks with significantly expressed top common hub gene clusters(e.g. planttype cell wall biogenesis among down-regulated or ABA-signalling among up-regulated). Polyelectrolyte Complexes between Hyperbranched and Linear Polysaccharides: Fucoidan/Chitosan

Polyelectrolyte complexes(PECs)of hyperbranched(HB)and linear polysaccharides are promising as more effective encapsulation agents compared to PECs formed by linear *** investigated the PECs between the HB anionic polysaccharide fucoidan(FUC)and the cationic linear polysaccharide chitosan(CS).The FUC had a molecular weight(MW)of 30×*** PECs were prepared in three solvents(water,0.01 and 0.1 mol/L acetic acid)with CS of MW of 15,110 and 170 kDa,and deacetylation degrees(DDA)of 70%and 97%.The structures of the PECs and the initial FUC were investigated by multi-angle static and dynamic light *** the FUC contained 18 wt%of—oSo3 groups and 5 wt%of uronic acid units,it was a“strong-weak”copolyanion,so the HB macromolecules of the FUC formed nanogel particles in 0.1 mol/L AcoH and open branched structures in water,as confirmed by the Kratky *** mixing the solutions of original components,the PEC structures underwent an equilibration period,the duration of which increased with the MW of *** the charge stoichiometry was approached,the PECs shrank;the fractal dimension approached unity,indicating the side-by-side packing of adjacent FUC branches with the help of *** aggregation in the vicinity of the charge compensation was hardly observed,as it occurred in a very narrow *** PEC content at theζ-potential inversion depended on solvents’pH and the DDA of *** the extreme case of core-shell PECs in 0.1 mol/L AcoH,obtained by mixing FUC nanogels with the solutions of high MW CS of 97%DDA,the protruding tails of CS formed a positively charged shell in the whole range of FUC content(10 wt%nning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy images of dried samples were discussed in relation to the light scattering results.
