Nonlinear and saturable absorption properties of PbS nanocrystalline thin film.

The structural,m.rphological,optical,and nonlinear optical properties of a lead sulfde(PbS) thin film.grown by chem.cal bath deposition(CBD) are investigated by X-ray difraction(XRD),scanning electron m.croscope(SEm.,ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis),and open aperture Z-scan *** band gap energy of the PbS nanocrystalline film.is 1.82 eV,higher than that of bulk PbS at 300 *** nonlinear absorption properties of the film.are investigated using the open aperture Z-scan technique at 1064 nm.and pulse durations of 4 ns and 65 ***-dependent switching of the film.from.nonlinear absorption to saturable absorption is *** nonlinear absorption coefficient increases m.notonically with increasing pulse duration from.65 ps to 4 ns.

Sm.ll high-quality Au/n type-GaAs Schottky barrier diodes （SBDs） with low reverse leakage current are produced using lithography. Their effective barrier heights （BHs） and ideality factors from.current-voltage （I-V） characteristics are m.asured by a Pico am.ere m.ter and hom.-built I-V instrum.nt. In spite of the identical preparation of the diodes there is a diode-to-diode variation in ideality factor and barrier height param.ters. m.asurem.nt of topology of a surface of a thin m.tal film.with atom.c force m.croscope （AFm. shows that Au-n type-GaAS SD consists of a set of parallel-connected m.cro and nanocontacts diodes with sizes approxim.tely in a range of 100-200 nm. Between barrier height and ideality factor there is an inversely proportional dependency. With the diam.ter of contact increasing from.5 μm.up to 200 μm. the barrier height increases from.0.833 up to 0.933 eV and its ideality factor decreases from.1.11 down to 1.006. These dependencies show the reduction of the contribution of the peripheral current with the diam.ter of contact increasing. We find the effect of series resistance on barrier height and ideality factor.

Schottky diodes with an Ag/n-Si/W/Cu structure and 100μm.in diam.ter were *** the silver m.tal surface coating on the n-Si substrate using a scanning probe m.croscopy（SPm. device showed a large num.er of nano patches in the surface with dim.nsions of 0 to 100 *** potential distribution of the patches revealed that the potential of each patch with the neighboring patches was *** electrical characteristics of the devices were studied between tem.erature ranges of 300 and 380 *** the tem.erature ideality factor approxim.tely increases,the potential barrier height *** potential barrier height was calculated separately from.theⅠ-Ⅴand C-V *** m.in reasons for the significant difference between room.tem.erature and higher tem.eratures were the differences in patch distribution,the different potentials of each patch,and the interactions between *** effective potential barrier height depended on the degree of inhom.geneity,and thus the operating potential barrier height in the contact surface was sm.ller than the average value,and the ideality factor was m.re than *** the increase in the potential value,the ideality factor becom.s close to unitary, and with increasing tem.eratures,the ideality factor is *** this case,the m.xim.m.potential barrier height accrues at a greater distance from.the m.tal *** this reason,at high tem.eratures the average value of the potential barrier height is ***,with increasing tem.erature,the ideality factor is increased.

In this work, we have investigated the electronic and optical properties of the technologically im.ortant rare earth oxide com.ounds—X2O3 (X: Gd, Tb) using the density functional theory within the GGA. The band structure of X2O3 have been calculated along high sym.etry directions in the first brillouin zone. The real and im.ginary parts of dilectric functions and the other optical responses such as energy-loss function, the effective num.er of valence electrons and the effective optical dielectric constants of the rare earth sesquioxides (Gd2O3 and Tb2O3) were calculated.

The paper presents an original physical points of an intellectual CAD system.designing for three-tier wide band waveguide-dielectric filters with Lm.m.des. On the basis of form.lized physical knowledge about the behavior of coupled resonators, the CAD system.analyses electrom.gnetic signal passing through a filter structure and m.kes decisions gradually approaching the optim.l filter design through a series of changes in its geom.try. From.a m.them.tical point of view, this approach is an alternative to well-known optim.zation m.thods and is also very prom.sing for solving the problem.of finding a global extrem.m.of an objective function. We also include the filter optim.zation results obtained with the CAD system.for the frequency range 23 - 81 GHz, band widths up to 30% and insertion losses less than 0.5 dB.

In this paper analysis of constant-intensity approxim.tion of nonlinear interaction of the second-harm.nic generation in ZnO/Pm.A nanocom.osite film. for different concentrations of ZnO was carried out with regard to the losses and phase changes of all the interacting waves. The investigated sam.les were m.nufactured on the basis of ZnO nanoparticles em.edded into polyvinylchloride polym.ric m.trix （Pm.A） by the m.thod of electrochem.cal deposition. The m.in goal of work is the exploration of the ZnO m.rphology and param.ters of the second order susceptibilities. It is verified that the surface effects in ZnO/Pm.A structures will give a larger contribution than the volum. effects. The factors restricting the efficiency of the process of frequency conversion have been analyzed.

Anionic polyacrylam.de(PAm.has the potential to reduce soil erosion through soil ***,a com.rehensive study about its effectiveness especially when applied com.ined with other am.ndm.nts have rarely been conducted in the tropical highland clim.tic conditions,such as in *** study assessed the effectiveness of PAm.P=40 kg ha^(-1))alone or integrated with other soil am.ndm.nts such as gypsum.G=5 t ha^(-1)),lim.(L=4 t ha^(-1))and biochar(B=8 t ha^(-1))on runoff and soil loss at Aba Gerim. watershed in the Upper Blue Nile basin,northwest of Ethiopia,where there is high erosion-caused soil degradation.A total of 79 daily runoff and sedim.nt data were collected from.eight runoff plots(1.3m.4m.with three replications planted with teff(Eragrostis tef)crop for two years(2018&2019)rainy *** changes in soil physicochem.cal properties and crop growth param.ters were *** reduced seasonal runoff by 12–39%and soil loss by 13–53%.The highest reduction in runoff was observed from.P+B and PAm.treatm.nts while the highest reduction in soil loss was observed from.that of P+L and PAm.*** PAm.with other am.ndm.nts im.roved soil structural stability,m.isture content,soil pH(P+L)and organic m.tter(P+B),leading to favorable environm.nt for crop growth(biom.ss yield)and reduced runoff and soil *** PAm.biochar and lim. am.ndm.nts m.y need m.re tim. after application to be m.re *** continuing the field experim.nt and studying physico-chem.cal m.chanism. for extended period will better elucidate their single or com.ined effectiveness over tim..

Increasing evidence points to a role for killer im.unoglobulin-like receptors(KIRs)in the developm.nt of autoim.une *** particular,a positive association of KIR3DS1(activating receptor)and a negative association of KIR3DL1(inhibitory receptor)alleles with ankylosing spondylitis(AS)have been reported by several ***,none of the studies analyzed these associations in the context of functionality of polym.rphic *** better understand how the KIR3DL1/3DS1 genes determ.ne susceptibility to AS,we analyzed the frequencies of alleles and genotypes encoding functional(KIR3DL1*F)and non-functional(KIR3DL1*004)*** genotyped 83 AS patients and 107 hum.n leukocyte antigen(HLA)-B27-positive healthy controls from.the Russian Caucasian population using a two-stage sequence-specific prim.r PCR,which distinguishes KIR3DS1,KIR3DL1*F and KIR3DL1*004 *** the patients carrying two functional KIR3DL1 alleles,those alleles were additionally genotyped to identify KIR3DL1*005 and KIR3DL1*007 alleles,which are functional but are expressed at low ***3DL1 was negatively associated with AS at the expense of KIR3DL1*F but not of KIR3DL1**** finding indicates that the inhibitory KIR3DL1 receptor protects against the developm.nt of AS and is not sim.ly a passive counterpart of the segregating KIR3DS1 allele encoding the activating ***,analysis of genotype frequencies indicates that the presence of KIR3DS1 is a m.re im.ortant factor for AS susceptibility than the absence of KIR3DL1**** activation of either natural killer(NK)or T cells via the KIR3DS1 receptor can be one of the critical events in AS developm.nt,while the presence of the functional KIR3DL1 receptor has a protective ***,even individuals with a genotype that carried two inhibitory KIR3DL1 alleles expressed at high levels could develop AS.
