Improving the evaporation rate and energy efficiency of solar steam generation is very important to facilitate real-world applications for clean water *** this work,Co_(3)O_(4)@polydopamine(PdA)nanoparticles were synthesized and combined with reduced graphene oxide(rGO)to fabricate a new Co_(3)O_(4)@PdA-rGO photothermal *** obtained pho-tothermal aerogel sheet was thereafter used to prepare both two-dimensional(2d)and three-dimensional(3d)photothermal evaporators for solar steam *** to the excellent light absorption and hydrophilicity of the photothermal aerogel,a high evaporation rate of 1.60 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) was achieved for the 2d photothermal *** for the 3d evaporator,the evaporation rate was dramatically increased to 3.71 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) with a corresponding light-to-vapor energy efficiency of 107%.This was attributed to an increased evaporation surface area,decreased energy loss from the top evaporation surface to the environment,and energy gain from the environment on the side evaporation *** 3d evaporator also showed excellent practical performance in seawater desalination thus demonstrating great potential for real-world applications.

A new planar split dual gate （PSdG） MOSFET device, its characteristics and experimental results, as well as the three dimensional device simulations, are reported here for the first time. Both theoretical calculation and 3d simulation, as well as the experiment data, show that the two independent split dual gates can provide dynamical control of the device characteristics, such as threshold voltage （Vt） and sub-threshold swing （SS）, as well as the device saturated current. The PSdG MOSFET transistor leakage current （loft） can be reduced as much as 78% of the traditional single gate MOSFET. The PSdG is fabricated and fully compatible with our conventional 0.18 μm logic process flow.

In plants, the chloroplast is the main reactive oxygen species （ROS） producing site under high light stress. Catalase （CAT）, which decomposes hydrogen peroxide （H2O2）, is one of the controlling enzymes that maintains leaf redox homeostasis. The catalase mutants with reduced leaf catalase activity from different plant species exhibit an H2O2-induced leaf cell death phenotype. This phenotype was differently affected by light intensity or photoperiod, which may be caused by plant species, leaf redox status or growth conditions. In the rice CAT mutant nitric oxide excess 1 （noe1）, higher H2O2 levels induced the generation of nitric oxide （NO） and higher S-nitrosothiol （SNO） levels, suggesting that NO acts as an important endogenous mediator in H2O2-induced leaf cell death. As a free radical, NO could also react with other intracellular and extracellular targets and form a series of related molecules, collectively called reactive nitrogen species （RNS）. Recent studies have revealed that both RNS and ROS are important partners in plant leaf cell death. Here, we summarize the recent progress on H2O2-induced leaf cell death and the crosstalk of RNS and ROS signals in the plant hypersensitive response （HR）, leaf senescence, and other forms of leaf cell death triggered by diverse environmental conditions.

To evaluate changes achieved in whole-body and regional(upper limbs,lower limbs,and trunk)estimates of body composition,twenty professional male soccer players(7 defenders,7 midfielders,6 forwards)underwent dualenergy x-ray absorptiometry(dXA)analysis at the beginning and end of *** included:mass,fat mass(FM),fat-free mass(FFM),and body fat per cent(BF%).Players’activity during on-field training sessions was monitored using Global Positioning System(GPS)units,with GPS data used to obtain estimations of energy expenditure(EE).Whole-body mass remained unchanged across the *** significant increases and decreases were achieved in whole-body FFM(Pre:59.58±5.27 kg;Post:60.61±5.18 kg;p=0.001;d=0.87)and FM(Pre:10.60±1.88 kg;Post:9.56±1.81 kg;p=0.001;d=0.85),*** significant decreases were achieved in whole-body BF%(Pre:14.4±2.3%;Post:12.9±2.0%;pd=0.94).No significant inter-positional differences were observed for the changes achieved in any global or regional estimate of body *** EE was significantly correlated withΔFM(r=0.65,p=0.002),ΔFFM(r=0.46,p=0.03),andΔBF%(r=0.67,p=0.002).The total EE of pre-season training accounted for 42%,21%,and 45%of the variance inΔFM,ΔFFM,andΔBF%,*** findings suggest that the pre-season period is a suitable time for initiating favourable alterations in body composition following the off-season in elite soccer players.

SARS-CoV-2 infection is a global public health *** are considered amongst the most important tools to control the SARS-CoV-2 *** expected,deaths from SARS-CoV-2 infection have dropped dramatically with widespread ***,there are concerns over the duration of vaccine-induced protection,as well as their effectiveness against emerging variants of ***,we constructed a recombinant chimpanzee adenovirus vectored vaccine expressing the full-length spike of SARS-CoV-2(Ad C68-S).Rapid and high levels of humoral and cellular immune responses were observed after immunization of C57BL/6J mice with one or two doses of Ad ***,neutralizing antibodies were observed up to at least six months after vaccination,without substantial *** or double doses Ad C68-S immunization resulted in lower viral loads in lungs of mice against SARS-CoV-2 challenge both in the short term(21 days)and long-term(6 months).Histopathological examination of Ad C68-S immunized mice lungs showed mild histological abnormalities after SARS-CoV-2 *** together,this study demonstrates the efficacy and durability of the Ad C68-S vaccine and constitutes a promising candidate for clinical evaluation.

A more efficient mine ventilation system, the ventilation-on-demand (VOd) system, has been proposed and tested in Canadian mines recently. In order to supply the required air volumes to the production areas of a mine, operators need to know the cause and effect of any changes requested from the VOd system. The sensitivity analysis is developed through generating a cause and effect matrix of sensitivity factors on given parameter changes in a ventilation system. This new utility, which was incorporated in the 3d-CANVENT mine ventilation simulator, is able to predict the airflow distributions in a ventilation network when underground conditions and ventilation controls are changed. For a primary ventilation system, the software can determine the optimal operating speed of the main fans to satisfy the airflow requirements in underground workings without necessarily using booster fans and regulators locally. An optimized fan operating speed time-table would assure variable demand-based fresh air delivery to the production areas effectively, while generating significant savings in energy consumption and operating cost.
