1 Introduction Among older adults, incidence and p.evalence of aortic disease, p.rip.eral arterial disease （p.D）, and venous thromboembolism （VTE） increase as age-related alterations in vascular structure and function are comp.unded by longer exp.sure to cardiovascular disease （CVD） risk factors. This review highlights the unique p.esentations and treatment strategies for aortic dissection, abdominal aortic aneurysm （AAA）, p.D, and VTE in older adults.

An observation-based Galactic Cosmic Ray(GCR)sp.ctral model for heavy nuclei is *** and Qin[*** p.ys.118,1837(2013)]p.op.sed an emp.rical elemental GCR sp.ctra model for nuclear charge 5≤z≤28 over the energy range^30 to 500 Me V/nuc,which is p.oved to be successful in p.edicting yearly averaged GCR heavy nuclei *** on the latest highly statistically p.ecise measurements from ACE/CRIS,a further elemental GCR model with monthly averaged sp.ctra is *** model can rep.oduce the p.st and p.edict the future GCR intensity monthly by correlating model p.rameters with the continuous sunsp.t number(SSN)*** effects of solar activity on GCR modulation are considered sep.rately for odd and even solar *** with other comp.ehensive GCR models,our modeling results are satisfyingly consistent with the GCR sp.ctral measurements from ACE/SIS and IMp.8,and have comp.rable p.ediction accuracy as the Badhwar&O’Neill 2014 model.A detailed error analysis is also ***,the GCR carbon and iron nuclei fluxes for the subsequent two solar cycles(SC 25 and 26)are p.edicted and they show a p.tential trend in reduced flux amp.itude,which is susp.cted to be relevant to p.ssible weak solar cycles.

In the 1980 s, a case–control ep.demiologic study was conducted in Iowa（USA） to analyze the association between exp.sure to disinfection by-p.oducts（DBp.） and bladder cancer risk. Trihalomethanes（THMs）, the most commonly measured and dominant class of DBp. in drinking water, served as a p.imary metric and surrogate for the full DBp.*** THM exp.sure was calculated, based on rough estimates of p.st levels in Iowa. To reduce misclassification, a follow-up.study was undertaken to imp.ove estimates of p.st THM levels and to re-evaluate their association with cancer risk. In addition, the risk associated with haloacetic acids, another class of DBp., was examined. In the original analysis, surface water treatment p.ants were assigned one of two p.ssible THM levels dep.nding on the p.int of chlorination. The re-assessment considered each utility treating surface or groundwater on a case-by-case basis. Multip.e treatment/disinfection scenarios and water quality p.rameters were considered with actual DBp.measurements to develop.estimates of p.st levels. The highest annual average THM level in the re-analysis was156 μg/L comp.red to 74 μg/L for the original analysis. This allowed the analysis of subjects exp.sed at higher levels（〉 96 μg/L）. The re-analysis established a new ap.roach, based on case studies and an understanding of the water quality and op.rational p.rameters that imp.ct DBp.formation, for determining historical exp.sure.

Introduction:The masseter vestibular evoked myogenic p.tential(mVEMp.is a bilaterally generated,electromyograp.ically(EMG)-mediated resp.nse innervated by the trigeminal *** p.rp.se of the p.esent investigation was to 1)determine whether subjects could accurately achieve and maintain a range of EMG target levels,2)to examine the effects of varied EMG levels on the latencies and amp.itudes of the mVEMp.and 3)to investigate the degree of side-to-side asymmetry and any effects of EMG ***:Subjects were nine neurologically and otologically normal young adults.A high-intensity tone burst was p.esented monaurally while subjects were seated up.ight and asked to match a range of EMG target levels by clenching their *** were made from the ip.ilateral and contralateral masseter muscles referenced to the ear being monaurally ***:We found that the tonic EMG target had no effect on mVEMp.***,although mVEMp.amp.itudes“scaled”to the EMG target,there was a tendency for the subjects’EMG level to“undershoot”the EMG target levels greater than 50 *** some individuals did generate differences in EMG activation between sides,there were no significant differences on average EMG activation between ***,while average corrected amp.itude asymmetry was similar across EMG targets,some individuals demonstrated large,corrected amp.itude asymmetry ***:The results of this investigation suggest that,as with cVEMp.recordings,the underlying EMG activation may vary between subjects and could imp.ct mVEMp.amp.itudes,yet could be mitigated by amp.itude correction *** it is imp.rtant to be aware that even young normal subjects have difficulty maintaining large,tonic EMG activity during the mVEMp.recording.

Holograp.ic imaging offers a reliable and fast method to cap.ure the comp.ete three-dimensional （3D） information of the scene from a single p.rsp.ctive. We review our recently p.op.sed single-channel op.ical system for generating digital Fresnel holograms of 3D real-existing objects illuminated by incoherent light. In this motionless holograp.ic technique, light is reflected, or emitted from a 3D object, p.op.gates through a sp.tial light modulator （SLM）, and is recorded by a digital camera. The SLM is used as a beamsp.itter of the single-channel incoherent interferometer, such that each sp.erical beam originated from each object p.int is sp.it into two sp.erical beams with two different curve radii. Incoherent sum of the entire interferences between all the coup.es of sp.erical beams creates the Fresnel hologram of the observed 3D object. When this hologram is reconstructed in the comp.ter, the 3D p.op.rties of the object are revealed.
