On-chain analytics for sentiment-driven statistical causality in cryptocurrencies

This paper establishes a new framework for assessing multimodal statistical causality between cryptocurrency market(cryptomarket)sentiment and cryptocurrency price *** order to achieve this,we present an efficient algorithm for multimodal statistical causality analysis based on Multiple-Output Gaussian *** from different information sources(modalities)are jointly modelled as a Multiple-Output Gaussian Process,and then using a novel approach to statistical causality based on Gaussian Processes(GPs),we study linear and non-linear causal effects between the different *** demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in a machine learning application by studying the relationship between cryptocurrency spot price dynamics and sentiment time-series data specific to the crypto sector,which we conjecture influences retail investor *** investor sentiment is extracted from cryptomarket news data via methods developed in the area of statistical machine learning known as Natural Language Processing(NLP).To capture sentiment,we present a novel framework for text to time-series embedding,which we then use to construct a sentiment index from publicly available news *** conduct a statistical analysis of our sentiment statistical index model and compare it to alternative state-of-the-art sentiment models popular in the NLP *** regard to the multimodal causality,the investor sentiment is our primary modality of exploration,in addition to price and a blockchain technologyrelated indicator(hash rate).Analysis shows that our approach is effective in modelling causal structures of variable degree of complexity between heterogeneous data sources and illustrates the impact that certain modelling choices for the different modalities can have on detecting causality.A solid understanding of these factors is necessary to gauge cryptocurrency adoption by retail investors and provide sentiment-and technologybased insights about the cry

Experimental and numerical investigation of iron ore pellet firing using coupled CFD-DEM method

Iron ore pellets are the main feedstock in ironmaking processes. while extensive research has addressed numerical modeling of the iron ore pellet induration process, little effort has been made to describe the intricate thermochemical processes occurring within the reactor starting from the pellet and particularly at the intra-particle scale. In this regard, discrete-continuous methods like CFD-DEM can generate more realistic, irregular particle assemblies, which leads to significantly more accurate predictions of voidage variation, wall effects, temperature distribution, and associated mass transfer phenomena. This study presents a numerical model based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) coupled with the discrete element method (DEM) to simulate the thermal induration process of iron ore pellets. The presented model solving heat, mass, and momentum conservation equations for both continuous and discrete phases, provides detailed information on the thermochemical aspects of the process. Pilot-scale induration experiment was conducted to validate model predictions in terms of thermal history and final conversion fraction. It was found that inlet charge specifications, such as particle and pellet size, significantly impact the productivity of pelletizing plants, highlighting the potential of the presented model to optimize the process and improve plant productivity. A remarkable class of elliptic surfaces of amplitude 1 in weighted projective spaces

Surfaces of amplitude 1 in the ordinary projective space are of the general type, but this need not be the case in weighted projective spaces. Indeed, there are 4 classes of quasi-smooth weighted hypersurfaces in P（1, 2, a, b） of amplitude 1 with an elliptic pencil cut out by hyperplanes. Their moduli spaces are constructed,and the monodromy of their universal families is determined as well as their period maps which turn out to be generally immersive. For those that are not, a mixed Torelli theorem holds. we added an application to certain compactifications of moduli spaces of surfaces of the general type with K2= 1, pg= 2 and q = 0 as a follow up of Gallardo et al.（2022）, as well as detailed SageMath-calculations. The appendix written by wim Nijgh shows that the general member of the types 1 and 2 elliptic family has a “trivial” Picard lattice, i.e., is spanned by fiber components and a multisection.

Assessment of groundwater quantity, quality, and associated health risk of the Tano river basin, Ghana

BACKGROUND Prolonged fetal exposure to hyperglycemia may increase the risk of developing abnormal glucose metabolism and type-2 diabetes during childhood,adolescence,and adulthood;however,the mechanisms by which gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)predisposes offspring to metabolic disorders remain *** To quantify the nerve axons,macrophages,and vasculature in the pancreas from adult offspring born from mouse dams with *** GDM was induced by *** of streptozotocin(STZ)in ICR mouse *** 12 wk old,fasting blood glucose levels were determined in *** 15 wk old,female offspring born from dams with and without GDM were sacrificed and pancreata were processed for *** quantified the density of sensory[calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)]and tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)axons,blood vessels(endomucin),and macro-phages(CD68)in the splenic pancreas using confocal *** Offspring mice born from STZ-treated dams had similar body weight and blood glucose values compared to offspring born from vehicle-treated ***,the density of CGRP+and TH+axons,endomucin+blood vessels,and CD68+macrophages in the exocrine pancreas was significantly greater in offspring from mothers with GDM vs control ***,the microvasculature in the islets was significantly greater,but not the number of macrophages within the islets of offspring born from dams with GDM compared to control *** GDM induces neuronal,vascular,and inflammatory changes in the pancreas of adult progeny,which may partially explain the higher propensity for offspring of mothers with GDM to develop metabolic diseases.
