Pseudogenes are frequently encountered noncoding sequences with a high sequence similarity to their protein-coding *** this reason,their presence is often considered troublesome in molecular *** pseudoxanthoma elasticum(PXE),a disease predominantly caused by mutations in ATPbinding cassette family C member 6(ABCC6),the presence of two pseudogenes complicates the analysis of sequence *** whole-exome sequencing(WES)becoming the standard of care in molecular diagnostics,we wanted to evaluate whether this technique is as reliable as gene-specific targeted enrichment analysis for the analysis of *** established a PCR-based targeted enrichment and next-generation sequencing testing approach and demonstrated that the ABCC6-specific enrichment combined with the applied mapping algorithm overcomes the complication of ABCC6 pseudogene aspecificities,contrary to *** propose a time-and cost-efficient diagnostic strategy for comprehensive and accurate molecular genetic testing of PXE,which is highly automatable.

This paper presents an advanced three-phase four-wire interlinking niicrogrid system with an improved harmonics reduction *** to their robustness and simplicity features,time-domain second-order notch-filter equivalent techniques have drawn a great deal of research ***,the drawbacks of non-satisfactory harmonics rejection characteristics and dynamic response limits their *** this context,this paper proposes an advanced control system with an enhanced harmonics reduction feature for microgrid *** proposed control system exhibits a superior harmonics reduction feature and better dynamic response than the conventional notch-filter based *** addition,a control scheme is developed for a three-phase power system application which presents higher accuracy in compensating both balanced and unbalanced *** performance of the proposed system is validated through simulations and tested on the hardware of a real microgrid *** the results,it is evident that the proposed approach provides excellent performance in terms of harmonics reduction in microgrid systems.

Dogtooth tuna,Gymnosarda unicolor were sampled off the east coast of Australia(southwest Pacific Ocean)from 2007 to *** were determined by examining thin transverse sections of their sagittal otoliths and were based on counts of alternating opaque and translucent zones(annual growth increments).Growth was rapid during the first year of life,after which growth in length was much *** of the constrained von Bertalanffy growth function(fork length-at-age)were L∞=1164.77(mm,FL)and K=0.44 year^(-1).Preliminary estimates of longevity indicate a maximum observed age of at least 20 *** was a high degree of variation in the observed length and age of sexual maturity for *** this variation,the size at 50%maturity for female *** estimated in this study was 713 mm FL(<2 years of age).The diet of *** is very broad and covers a range of fish *** life history characteristics of *** overall,indicate that this species may be somewhat resilient to ***,reports of localised depletions,in association with heavy targeting by sports fishers,low effective population sizes and patchy recruitment indicate that this species is particularly vulnerable to overfishing.

Validity of long-term and short-term recall of occupational sitting time in Finnish and Chinese office workers

Background:As sedentary behavior is a global health issue,there is a need for methods of self-reported sitting *** accuracy and reliability of these methods should also be tested in various populations and different cultural *** study examined the validity of longterm and short-term recall of occupational sitting time in Finnish and Chinese ***:Two cohort groups of office-based workers(58.6%female,age range 2267 years)participated:a Finnish group(FIN,n=34)and a Chinese group(CHI,n=36).Long-term(past 3-month sitting)and short-term(daily sitting assessed on 5 consecutive days)single-item measures were used to assess self-reported occupational sitting *** from each participant were compared to objectively measured occupational sitting time assessed via thigh-mounted accelerometers,with Spearman’s rho(r)used to assess validity and the Bland-Altman method used to evaluate *** of variation depicted day-to-day variability of time spent on sitting at ***:In the total study sample,the results showed that both long-term and short-term recall correlated with accelerometer-derived sitting time(r=0.532,95%confidence intervals(CI):0.3360.684,pjectively measured sitting time,self-reported occupational sitting time was 2.4%(95%CI:0.5%to 5.3%,p=0.091)and 2.2%(95%CI:0.7%3.6%,p=0.005)greater for long-term and short-term recall,*** agreement level was within the range21.2%to 25.9%for long-term recall,and24.2%to 28.5%for short-term *** a 5-day work week,day-to-day variation of sitting time was 9.4%§11.4%according to short-term recall and 10.4%§8.4%according to accelerometry-derived occupational sitting ***:Overall,both long-term and short-term self-reported instruments provide acceptable measures of occupational sitting time in an office-based workplace,but their utility at the individual level is limited due

Rice produces many diterpenoid phytoalexins and,reflecting the importance of these natural products in this important cereal crop plant,its genome contains three biosynthetic gene clusters(BGCs)for such *** chromosome 4 BGC(c4BGC)is largely associated with momilactone production,in part due to the presence of the initiating syn-copalyl diphosphate(CPP)synthase gene(OsCPS4).Oryzalexin S is also derived from ***,the relevant subsequently acting syn-stemarene synthase gene(OsKSL8)is not located in the *** of oryzalexin S further requires hydroxylation at carbons 2 and 19(C2 and C19),presumably catalyzed by cytochrome P450(CYP)*** it is reported the closely related CYP99A2 and CYP99A3,whose genes are also found in the c4BGC catalyze the necessary C19-hydroxylation,while the closely related CYP71Z21 and CYP71Z22,whose genes are found in the recently reported chromosome 7 BGC(c7BGC),catalyze subsequent hydroxylation at C2α.Thus,oryzalexin S biosynthesis utilizes two distinct BGCs,in a pathway cross-stitched together by ***,in contrast to the widely conserved c4BGC,the c7BGC is subspecies(ssp.)specific,being prevalent in *** and only rarely found in the other major ***,while the closely related syn-stemodene synthase OsKSL11 was originally considered to be distinct from OsKSL8,it has now been reported to be a *** derived allele at the same genetic ***,more detailed analysis indicates that OsKSL8(j)is being replaced by OsKSL11(OsKSL8i),suggesting introgression from *** to(sub)tropical japonica,with concurrent disappearance of oryzalexin S production.

The current mathematical model explains the influence of non-linear thermal radiation on the Casson liquid flow over a moving thin needle by considering Buongiorno’s nanofluid *** influences of Stefan blowing,Dufour and Soret effects are also considered in the *** equations which represent the described flow pattern are reduced to ordinary differential equations(ODEs)by using apt similarity transformations and then they are numerically solved with Runge–Kutta-Fehlberg’s fourth fifth-order method(RKF-45)with shooting *** impacts of pertinent parameters on thermal,mass and velocity curves are deliberated *** friction,rate of heat and mass transfer are also discussed *** reveal that,the increase in values of Brownian motion,thermophoresis,Dufour number,heating and radiative parameters improves the heat *** increasing values of the Schmidt number deteriorates the mass transfer but a converse trend is seen for increasing values of the Soret ***,the escalating values of the radiative parameter decays the rate of heat transfer.

This paper presents a system identification method to derive accurate mathematical models for an unmanned circulation control aerial vehicle(UC2AV)that account for the effects of circulation control(CC)on the vehicle *** X-plane flight simulator and the CIFER system identification software are utilized to first derive simulation models to verify and validate the proposed system identification *** is followed by flight tests to derive mathematical models and stability derivatives for the aircraft with CC-on and *** tests indicate a nose down pitching moment effect induced by CC,which in turn alter the UAV trim values and *** of the two sets of mathematical models reveal that CC changes the longitudinal trim values and improves the lateral maneuverability of the *** experiments indicate an acceptable match between the derived models and UAV dynamics by calculating root mean square(RMS)error values and by quantifying the model predictive ability through calculating the Theil inequality coefficient(TIC).

Variation in resistance of xylem to embolism among flowers,leaves,and stems strongly influences the survival and reproduction of ***,little is known about the vulnerability to xylem embolism under drought stress and their relationships to the anatomical traits of pits among reproductive and vegetative *** this study,we investigated the variation in xylem vulnerability to embolism in peduncles,petioles,and stems in a woody plant,Magnolia *** analyzed the relationships between water potentials that induced 50%embolism(P50)in peduncles,petioles,and stems and the conduit pit traits hypothesized to influence cavitation *** found that peduncles were more vulnerable to cavitation than petioles and stems,supporting the hypothesis of hydraulic vulnerability segmentation that leaves and stems are prioritized over flowers during drought ***,P50 was significantly correlated with variation in the dimensions of inter-vessel pit apertures among peduncles,petioles and *** findings highlight that measuring xylem vulnerability to embolism in reproductive organs is essential for understanding the effect of drought on plant reproductive success and mortality under drought stress.
