Benefiting from its surface-rich functional groups,eco-friendliness,impressive electrochemical properties,excellent light absorption,structural tunability at the atomic/morphological level,and ultra-high stability under harsh conditions,nanodiamond has emerged as a promising carbon-based non-metallic material in the field of energy conversion such as electrocatalysis and ***,nanodiamond,as a new generation of green catalysts,can overcome the poisoning of catalysts by complex pollutants in advanced oxidation processes,thus effectively removing organic matter from water,which is unparalleled in reducing the cost of water purification and avoiding secondary cross-contamination of water by traditional heavy metal-based ***,we review the research and development of nanodiamonds as major electrocatalysts and photocatalysts for energy conversion and for air/water treatment for environmental *** relevant properties,trimming strategy,mechanistic understanding,and design principles of nanodiamond as a catalyst are described,as well as the challenges and prospects of this emerging field.

Supra-permafrost groundwater(SPG)is a key factor that causes damage to highways and railways in the Qinghai-Tibet Engineering Corridor(QTEC).It is difficult to monitor SPG in the field due to their complex formation mechanisms and movement *** single-site field monitoring studies limit the spatial and temporal precision of SPG spatial *** determine the moisture content of shallow soils and the SPG distribution along the QTEC,this work employed the temperature vegetation dryness index and remote sensing models for groundwater table distribution *** accuracies of the models were validated using mea-surements obtained from different sites in the *** the permafrost zones of the QTEC,72.,2.%and 6%of the SPG were located at depths of 0.5-1,1 m,***,79.4%of the area along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway(QTH)(Xidatan-Tanggula)section contained *** these sections with SPG,37.9%have an SPG table at depths of 0.5-0.8 *** study preliminarily explored the SPG distribution in the QTEC with a 30 m *** findings can help improve the spatial scale of SPG research,provide a basis for the analysis of the hydrothermal mechanisms,and serve as a guide in the assessment of operational risks and road structure designs.

The umbilical cable is a vital component of subsea production systems that provide power, chemical agents, control signals et al., and its requirement for reliability is exceedingly high. However, as the umbilical cable is a composite structure comprising multiple functional units, the reliability analysis of such cables involves numerous parameters that can impact calculation efficiency. In this paper, the reliability analysis of a new kind of umbilical cable with carbon fiber rod under tension is analyzed. The global dynamic analytical model is first established to determine the maximum tension load, then the local analytical model of umbilical cable including each unit are constructed by finite element method(FEM). Based on the mechanical analytical model, the reliability of umbilical cable under tension load is studied using response surface method(RSM) and Monte Carlo method. During the calculation process, a new tangent plane sampling method to calculate the response surface function(RSF) is proposed in this paper, which could make sampling points faster come close to the RSF curve, and it is proved that the calculation efficiency increases about 33% comparing with traditional method.

Efficient separation of palladium (Pd（II）) from high-level liquid waste （HLLW） not only helps the safe disposal of nuclear waste,but also is a vital importan supplement to Pd（II） ***,16 kinds of nove Amberlite XAD resins-based adsorbents were prepared by vacuum impregnation method for the separation of Pd（II）from simulated HLLW,and the MMBT/XAD7HP prepared using 4-methyl-2.mercaptobenzothiazole （MMBT） as ligand and Amberlite XAD7HP resin （XAD7HP） as the carrier was selected as the optimal research *** analysis experiments proved the successful preparation of MMBT/XAD7HP,which exhibited ultrahigh adsorption selectivity for Pd（II）(distribution coefficient （Kd）≥12.84.5 ml·g-1,separation factor (SFPd/M)≥2.18.4) and superior adsorption capacity(Q≥130.1 mg·g-1).The adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherms for Pd（II） matched with pseudo-secondorder （PSO） kinetics model and Langmuir model,indicating that the adsorption mode for Pd（II） by MMBT/XAD7 HP was monolayer chemical *** dynamic column experiments showed that MMBT/XAD7 HP achieved efficiently separation of Pd（II） from simulated HLLW,and the recovery rate was nearly 100% The adsorption mechanism was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and density functional theory（DFT）,and the ultrahigh selectivity of MMBT/XAD7 HP is attributed to the preferred affinity of the soft-N,S donor atoms in MMBT for Pd（II）.MMBT has the shortest frontline molecular orbital energy band gap （HOMO–LUMO） among the four ligands,which makes it easier to become an electron donor to attract Pd2.to participate in ***3-participates in the adsorption to keep charge *** summary,MMBT/XAD7 HP has broad application prospects for the treatment of Pd（II） in HLLW

With the rapid development of urban underground space,the construction of shield-driven cross-river twin tunnels is increasing,and the complex hydro-mechanical coupling effects and twin-tunnel interactions bring huge construction risks to such projects,which have attracted more and more *** study aims to understand the excavation effects induced by shield driving of cross-river twin tunnels through numerical simulation.A refined three-dimensional numerical model based on the fully coupled hydro-mechanical theory is *** model considers the main components of the slurry pressure balance shield(SPBS)machine,including support force,jacking thrust,grouting pressure,shield-rock interaction and lining-grouting interaction,as well as the detailed construction *** purpose is to examine the excavation effects during construction,including rock deformation around tunnels,the change in pore pressure,and the response of the *** results show the influence range of twin-tunnel excavation on rock deformation and pore pressure,as well as the modes of lining *** addition,this study also systematically investigates the effects of water level fluctuation and burial depth on twin-tunnel *** results indicate that the increase of water level or burial depth will enhance the excavation effects and strengthen the twin-tunnel *** results provide useful insights for estimating the construction impact range and degree of twin tunnels,and serve as basic references for the design of cross-river twin tunnels.

B_(4)C–TiB_(2.is an advanced electrically conductive ceramic with excellent mechanical and electrical discharge machinable *** is challenging and rewarding to achieve highly conductive and hard B_(4)C–TiB_(2.composites at a minimum content of conductive TiB2.that has inferior hardness but double specific gravity of the B_(4)C matrix.A novel strategy was used to construct conductive networks in B_(4)C‒15 vol%TiB2.composite ceramics with B_(4)C,TiC,and amorphous B as raw materials by a two-step spark plasma sintering *** influences of particle size matching between B_(4)C and TiC on the conducting of the strategy and the microstructure were discussed based on the selective matrix grain growth *** mechanical and electrical properties were also systematically *** B_(4)C–15 vol%TiB2.composite ceramic prepared from 10.2.µm B_(4)C and 0.05µm TiC powders exhibited a perfect three-dimensional interconnected conductive network with a maximum electrical conductivity of 4.2.×10^(4)S/m,together with excellent mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 691±58 MPa,30.30±0.61 GPa,and 5.75±0.32.MPa·m^(1/2.,respectively,while the composite obtained from 3.12.m B_(4)C and 0.8µm TiC powders had the best mechanical properties including flexural strength,Vickers hardness,and fracture toughness of 82.±35 MPa,32.01±0.51 GPa,and 6.45±0.2. MPa·m^(1/2.,together with a decent electrical conductivity of 0.65×10^(4)S/m.

Although extensive efforts have been made to dampen the thermoacoustic instability,successfully controlling the pressure oscillations in modern gas turbines or aeroengines remains *** influence of the acoustic liner on the longitudinal thermoacoustic mode in a model annular combustor is investigated by Large Eddy Simulation(LES) in this *** result of the self-excited longitudinal thermoacoustic instability without the liner agrees well with the frequency and acoustic analysis of the pressure mode based on experimental *** different bias flow velocities of the liner located downstream of the combustor are then *** results reveal that the existence of the liner influences not only the acoustic field but also the flow *** the bias velocity is large,it leads to intense turbulence-induced fluctuations,and the pressure oscillation is modulated *** shows that the weak coupling between flow and pressure oscillations plays a significant role in the onset of the intermittency of a thermoacoustic *** on the dynamic analysis of the thermoacoustic system with the acoustic liner,this intermittency is caused by the influence of the flow field on the flame-acoustic ***,a low-order modeling method based on Van der Pol(VdP) oscillator with additive stochastic forcing is conducted to reproduce the evolving dynamics of the thermoacoustic *** the numerical cases demonstrated in this work are relatively simpler than those in a practical combustion system,the results are helpful for us to understand the effect of the acoustic liner and show the attractive potential to apply this device to suppress thermoacoustic instability.

High-throughput assays play an important role in the fields of drug discovery,genetic analysis,and clinical *** super-capacity coding strategies may facilitate labeling and detecting large numbers of targets in a single assay,practically,the constructed large-capacity codes have to be decoded with complicated procedures or are lack of survivability under the required reaction *** challenge results in either inaccurate or insufficient decoding ***,we identified chemical-resistant Raman compounds to build a combinatorial coding system for the high-throughput screening of cell-targeting ligands from a focused 8-mer cyclic peptide *** accurate in situ decoding results proved the signal,synthetic,and functional orthogonality for this Raman coding *** orthogonal Raman codes allowed for a rapid identification of 63 positive hits at one time,evidencing a high-throughput-out capability in the screening *** anticipate this orthogonal Raman coding strategy being generalized to enable efficient high-throughput-out screening of more useful ligands for cell targeting and drug discovery.

The operation of integrated energy systems(IESs)is confronted with great challenges for increasing penetration rate of renewable energy and growing complexity of energy *** generation is one of ordinary methods to alleviate the system uncertainties by extracting several typical scenarios to represent the original high-dimensional *** paper proposes a novel representative scenario generation method based on the feature extraction of panel *** original high-dimensional data are represented by an aggregated indicator matrix using principal component analysis to preserve temporal ***,the aggregated indicator matrix is clustered by an algorithm combining density canopy and *** with the proposed scenario generation method,an optimal operation model of IES is established,where the objective is to minimize the annual operation costs considering carbon trading ***,case studies based on the data of Aachen,Germany in 2.19 are *** results indicate that the adjusted rand index(ARI)and silhouette coefficient(SC)of the proposed method are 0.6153 and 0.6770,respectively,both higher than the traditional methods,namely K-medoids,K-means++,and density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN),which means the proposed method has better *** error between optimal operation results of the IES obtained by the proposed method and all-year time series benchmark value is 0.1%,while the calculation time is reduced from 1102. s to 188 s,which verifies that the proposed method can be used to optimize operation strategy of IES with high efficiency without loss of accuracy.
