Previous studies have shown that the autonomic nervous system plays a role in the occurrence and development of gastric cancer(GC).[1-3]Sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve fibers constitute a network in gastric wall submucosa and muscularis to control gastric peristalsis and secretion.These two groups of nerve fibers antagonize and coordinate with each other under the regulation of the central nervous system to complete their innervation function.Currently,most of the studies on the autonomic nervous system and GC focus on a single species nerve fiber or transmitter.The present study aimed to elucidate how the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems antagonize and coordinate in the occurrence and development of GC.Simultaneously,some gastrointestinal hormones are also identified in the development of GC as helpers or tools of the sympathetic or parasympathetic nervous system.

In this paper,the solid waste desulfurization gypsum produced by coal-fired power plants was used as a raw material to prepare calcium sulfate whiskers with high application prospects.Calcium sulfate whiskers with uniform morphology and high aspect ratio can be prepared by hydrothermal method in sulfuric acid solution.A new process of desulfurization gypsum activated by high-energy grinding to reduce the reaction temperature and sulfuric acid concentration was developed.Through the comparison of product morphology,the best grinding time was determined to be 3.5 h.The mechanism of desulfurization gypsum through physical–chemical coupling to reduce energy consumption was clarified.The activation of desulfurization gypsum by grinding and the acidic environment provided by the sulfuric acid solution made the calcium sulfate solution reached rapid saturation and accelerated the nucleation rate.By calculating the conversion and crystallization rate of calcium sulfate whiskers,it was found that there were obvious"autocatalytic"kinetic characteristics during the crystallization process.

Cobalt ferrite has problems such as poor impedance matching and high density,which results in unsatisfactory electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption performance.In this study,the CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C core-shell structure composite was synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method.X-ray diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,thermogravimetric analysis,and vector network analysis et al.were used to test the structure and EMW absorption properties of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite.The results show that the reflection loss(RL)of the CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite reaches the maximum value of25.66 dB at 13.92 GHz,and the effective absorbing band(EAB)is 4.59 GHz(11.20-15.79 GHz)when the carbon mass content is 6.01%.The RL and EAB of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite are increased by 219.55%and 4.59 GHz respectively,and the density is decreased by 20.78%compared with the cobalt ferrite.Such enhanced EMW absorption properties of CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composite are attributed to the attenuation caused by the strong natural resonance of the cobalt ferrite,moreover,the carbon coating layer adjusts the impedance matching of the composite,and the introduced dipole polarization and interface polarization can cause multiple Debye relaxation processes.

High temperature elicits a well-conserved response called the unfol ded protein response(UPR)to bring protein homeostasis in the endoplasmic reticulum(ER).Two key UPR regulators bZIP28 and bZIP60 have been shown to be essential for maintaining fertility under heat stress conditions in Arabidopsis,however,the function of transcriptional activator bZIP17,a paralog of bZIP28,in heat stress response at reproductive stage is not reported.Here we found that bzip17 mutant plants were sensitive to heat stress in terms of silique length and fertility comparing to that of wildtype(WT)Arabidopsis plants,and transcri ptomic analysis showed that 1380 genes were specifically up-regulated and 493 genes were specifically down-regulated by heat stress in the flowers of WT plants comparing to that in bzip17 mutant plants.These bZIP17-dependent up-regulated genes were enriched in responses to a biotic stresses such as water deprivation and salt stress.Further chromatin immuno-preci pitation coupled with high-throughput sequencing(ChIP-Seq)uncovered 1645 genes that were direct targets of bZIP17 in MYC-bZIP17 expressing seedlings subjected to heat stress.Among these 1645 genes,ERSE-II cis-element was enriched in the binding peaks of their promoters,and the up-regulation of 113 genes by heat stress in flowers was dependent on bZIP17.Our results revealed direct targets of bZIP17 in flowers during heat stress responses and demonstrated the important role of bZIP17 in maintai ning fertility upon heat stress in plants.

Objective:Saphenous vein grafts disease(SVGD)is a common complication after coronary artery bypass graft(CABG)and normally treated by percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).The most common complication after SVG-PCI is slow or no-reflow.It is known that the no-reflow phenomenon occurs in up to 15%of the SVG-PCI and is associated with high risk of major adverse cardiac events(MACEs)and mortality,therefore,it is important to investigate the factors that could predict the clinical outcome of PCI for risk stratification and guiding interventions.In recent years,the spectral analysis of intravascular ultrasound(IVUS)radiofrequency data(virtual histology-IVUS[VH-IVUS])has been used to provide quantitative assessment on both plaque compositions and morphologic characteristics.Data sources:The PubMed,Embase,and Central databases were searched for possible relevant studies published from 1997 to 2018 using the following index keywords:“Coronary artery bypass grafting,”“Saphenous venous graft disease,”“Virtual histologyintravascular ultrasound,”“Virtual histology-intravascular ultrasound,”and“Percutaneous coronary intervention.”Study selection:The primary references were Chinese and English articles including original studies and literature reviews,were identified and reviewed to summarize the advances in the application of VH-IVUS techniques in situ vascular and venous graft vascular lesions.Results:With different plaque components exhibiting a defined spectrum,VH-IVUS can classify atherosclerotic plaque into four types:fibrous tissue(FT),fibro fatty(FF),necrotic core(NC),and dense calcium(DC).The radiofrequency signal is mathematically transformed into a color-coded representation,including lipid,fibrous tissue,calcification,and necrotic core.Several studies have demonstrated the independent relationship between VH-IVUS-defined plaque classification or plaque composition and MACEs,but a significant association between plaque components and no-reflow after PCI in acute coronary syndrome.In recent years,VH-IVUS are applie

Developing high-performance electromagnetic absorbing materials remains a challenge.In this work,Gd-Co ferrite@carbon core-shell structure composites were synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method.The effects of rare earth Gd doping amount on the microstructure and electromagnetic wave absorption properties of cobalt ferrite@carbon composites were mainly studied.The results show that an appropriate amount of Gd doping can refine the crystal grain size of cobalt ferrite@carbon composites.However,when the doping amount of Gd exceeds the solid solubility threshold,the secondary phase GdFeO_(3)will be generated and the grain size will increase.When the doping amount of Gd is x=0.04,the reflection loss(RL) of the CoFe_(1.96)Gd_(0.04)O_(4)@C composites reaches the minimum value of -9.26 dB at the absorption layer thickness of 2.0 mm and a frequency of 13.67 GHz,and the effective absorption band(EAB) is 5.01 GHz(10.95-15.96 GHz).Compared with the CoFe_(2)O_(4)@C composites,the RL of the CoFe_(1.96)Gd_(0.04)O_(4)@C composites is increased by 79.35%,and the EAB is broadened by 3.51%.Gd ions enhance the dielectric loss through the grain size effect,and the increase of magnetocrystalline anisotropy enhances the magnetic loss.The CoFe_(1.96)Gd_(0.04)O_(4)@C composites have excellent impedance matching,which relies on the strong magnetic loss of ferrite,the interface polarization,and dipole polarization formed by the carbon shell to attenuate electromagnetic waves.

Lactobacillus levels and prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction

OBJECTIVE To explore the relationship between Lactobacillus and prognosis of acute myocardial infarction(AMI)patients treated by percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)and its correlation with clinical parameters.METHODS Consecutive patients with AMI in the coronary care unit of Tianjin Chest Hospital in China who received emergency PCI between July 2017 and December 2018 were enrolled.Subjects’fecal 16 S r DNA gene sequencing data were analyzed and subjects were categorized into low,medium and high level groups according to stool Lactobacillus measurements.The primary endpoints were major adverse cardiac events.Cox regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between Lactobacillus and prognosis.Spearman correlation analysis and trend tests were used to assess the relationship between Lactobacillus and the clinical indicators.RESULTS The data of 254 patients were included in the analysis.Mean age was 65.90±11.56 years,and 152 patients(59.84%)were male.Follow-up time was 652(548.25-753.00)days.Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed a significantly lower risk of major adverse cardiac events in patients with Lactobacillus>7.1 copies/g[adjusted hazard ratio(HR)=0.216,95%CI:0.094-0.493,P<0.001]compared to patients with Lactobacillus≤3.6 copies/g.Statistically significant differences were shown in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)(HR=0.217,95%CI:0.085-0.551,P=0.001).Lactobacillus was a protective factor for male smokers aged over 60 years whose brain natriuretic peptide was over 1,000 pg/m L.Spearman correlation analysis showed that Lactobacillus correlated negatively with white blood cells,neutrophils,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein,Troponin T,creatine kinase,creatine kinase-MB and brain natriuretic peptide(downward trend),and correlated positively with left ventricular ejection fraction(upward trend).CONCLUSIONS This study is the first to reveal the correlation between Lactobacillus and inflammation and myocardial damage after STEMI.STEMI patients,especially male smokers aged over

Heterostructures are often constructed to modulate the electronic states of the two catalysts,achieving high-performance in alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Various mechanisms have been proposed for the heterostructural catalysts,which however awaits further approvement.Herein,a heterostructure composed of Co_(2)P and CoP was successfully prepared with significantly enhanced HER catalytic activity relative to the endmembers.The ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy(UPS)and Xray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)revealed the effective promotion of the self-driven transferring of electrons from CoP to Co_(2)P and the accumulation of electrons on the P sites in Co_(2)P due to the strong electronic coupling of built-in electric field in the Co_(2)P/CoP interface.In situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and poison experiments confirmed the Heyrovsky step of H*intermediate depleting on electronegative P sites and contributions of both metal and P to the reactivity in the Co_(2)P/CoP.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations clarify that the electronic structure at interface of the heterojunction significantly weakens the hydrogen adsorption free energy(ΔGH*ads)of P site in Co_(2)P/CoP to near zero.We also propose an electronic redistribution strategy for heterostructures that activates the multiple routes mechanism and production of more active sites.The working mechanism is expected to be further extended to other transition metal compounds for efficient HER activity.

Agricultural soil contamination by cadmium (Cd) is becoming one of the most serious environmental issues and public concerns. In this study, factorial arrangements of treatments were designed to explore the effects of two soil amendments, sodium sulfide-biofuel ash (SSBA) and lime (0.1%), and three foliar applications, silicon (Si, 2.5 mmol L-1), selenium (Se, 40 mg L-1), and their combination (SS), on Cd reduction in rice (Oryza sativa L.) in a pot experiment, which were then verified in a field experiment. Compared with the control without amendment but with spraying of deionized water, both SSBA and lime significantly reduced concentrations of CaCl2-extractable Cd in soil by 30%–39% and 31%–40% and Cd in brown rice by 44%–63% and 53%–72% in the pot and field experiments, respectively. Foliar Si, Se, and SS applications significantly reduced Cd accumulation in brown rice by 62%–64%, 72%–83%, and 39%–73%, respectively, increased rice grain yield, and improved antioxidant enzyme activities in rice leaves but with different trends in the pot and field experiments. Combinations of SSBA and lime with Si, Se, and SS had a non-significant synergistic effect on Cd reduction in brown rice compared to only foliar spraying or soil amendment in both pot and field experiments, although SSBA + Se and SSBA + Si reduced Cd concentration in brown rice by 16%–34% and 14%–24% compared to only foliar Si and Se and soil SSBA applications, respectively. Soil lime application and foliar Si spraying were the most cost-effective strategies to reduce Cd accumulation in brown rice in the field and pot experiments, respectively. Although soil amendments and foliar treatments were individually effective, their combinations failed to generate a significant synergistic reduction of Cd concentration in brown rice.
