Background A medical content-based image retrieval(CBIR)system is designed to retrieve images from large imaging repositories that are visually similar to a user′s query *** is widely used in evidence-based diagnosis,teaching,and *** the retrieval accuracy has largely improved,there has been limited development toward visualizing important image features that indicate the similarity of retrieved *** the prevalence of 3D volumetric data in medical imaging such as computed tomography(CT),current CBIR systems still rely on 2D cross-sectional views for the visualization of retrieved *** 2D visualization requires users to browse through the image stacks to confirm the similarity of the retrieved images and often involves mental reconstruction of 3D information,including the size,shape,and spatial relations of multiple *** process is time-consuming and reliant on users'*** In this study,we proposed an importance-aware 3D volume visualization *** rendering parameters were automatically optimized to maximize the visibility of important structures that were detected and prioritized in the retrieval *** then integrated the proposed visualization into a CBIR system,thereby complementing the 2D cross-sectional views for relevance feedback and further *** Our preliminary results demonstrate that 3D visualization can provide additional information using multimodal positron emission tomography and computed tomography(PETCT)images of a non-small cell lung cancer dataset.

To explore the impact of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA)on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection and clinical outcomes in patients with autoimmune liver disease(AILD).Patients diagnosed with AILD were enrolled and divided into a UDCA group and a non-UDCA group based on whether they received UDCA *** data were collected regarding AILD diagnosis,treatment,biochemical indicators,and imaging *** incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the prognosis of AILD patients were observed.A total of 1,138 patients completed *** usage rate of hormone(P=0.003)and immunosuppressant(P=0.001)used for treating AILD in the non-UDCA group was markedly lower than in the UDCA *** UDCA usage rate was markedly lower in SARS-CoV-2 infected patients than in uninfected patients(P=0.003).The rate of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the non-UDCA group was significantly higher than in the UDCA group(P=0.018).Logistic regression analysis showed that UDCA use(P=0.003)was correlated to a lower incidence of SARS-CoV-2,while immunosuppressant use(P=0.017)increased the *** time from SARS-CoV-2 infection was markedly longer for those receiving UDCA treatment than those in the non-UDCA group(P=0.018).UDCA is associated with low SARS-CoV-2 incidence in AILD patients,while immunosuppressant increases its incidence *** receiving UDCA treatment have a longer recovery time after being infected.

Sparse synthetic aperture radar(SAR) imaging has emerged as a reliable microwave imaging scheme in the recent decade and excels in down-sampling reconstruction and full-sampling performance improvements such as noise, sidelobe, speckle, and ambiguity suppression. To utilize complex image products of sparse reconstruction for improvement in polarimetric, interferometric, and tomographic SAR imaging, it is necessary to evaluate the phase preservation of sparse SAR imaging. In this study, we first introduce the general alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM) as the universal framework for sparse reconstruction algorithms and adopt chirp scaling algorithm(CSA)-based azimuth-range decouple operators to avoid expensive data storage and processing. Further, we theoretically analyze the phase preservation of the sparse reconstruction algorithm through a comparison with the reconstruction results of CSA. Finally,we conduct the interferometric offset test on the sparse reconstruction results of simulated and real gaofen-3(GF-3) SAR data, demonstrating the phase-preserving ability of sparse methods.

Abnormal tumor microenvironment imposes barriers to tumor penetration of nanomedicine,which remains a major challenge for effective ***,we present disulfide-based nanoparticles that actively penetrate deep tumors in vivo through a thiol-mediated transportation *** achieve active tumor accumulation in vivo,disulfide-based nanoparticles are modified with folic acid units(FA-DBNPs).It is gratifying that FA-DBNPs still enter cells via the thiol-mediated pathway,which facilitates transcellular transportation and tumor penetration both in vitro and in ***,FA-DBNPs exhibit GSH concentration-dependent depolymerization characterization,indicating that the GSH level in tumor tissues regulates the penetration depth of *** from these advantages,FA-DBNPs showed potent anti-tumor activity in mouse models,leading to the significant regression of *** current study lays a foundation that thiol-mediated transportation is a promising approach in nanomedicine design for solid tumor therapy.

The wide applications of Generative adversarial networks benefit from the successful training methods,guaranteeing that an object function converges to the local ***,designing an efficient and competitive training method is still a challenging task due to the cyclic behaviors of some gradient-based ways and the expensive computational cost of acquiring the Hessian *** address this problem,we proposed the Adaptive Composite Gradients(ACG)method,linearly convergent in bilinear games under suitable *** analysis and toy-function experiments both suggest that our approach alleviates the cyclic behaviors and converges faster than recently proposed SOTA *** convergence speed of the ACG is improved by 33%than other *** ACG method is a novel Semi-Gradient-Free algorithm that can reduce the computational cost of gradient and Hessian by utilizing the predictive information in future *** mixture of Gaussians experiments and real-world digital image generative experiments show that our ACG method outperforms several existing technologies,illustrating the superiority and efficacy of our method.

Interpreting genes of interest is essential for identifying molecular mechanisms, but acquiring such information typically involves tedious manual retrieval. To streamline this process, thefanyi package offers tools to retrieve gene information from sources like National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), significantly enhancing accessibility. Additionally, understanding the latest research advancements and sharing achievements are crucial for junior researchers. However, language barriers often restrict knowledge absorption and career development. To address these challenges, we developed thefanyi package, which leverages artificial intelligence (AI)-driven online translation services to accurately translate among multiple languages. This dual functionality allows researchers to quickly capture and comprehend information, promotes a multilingual environment, and fosters innovation in academic community. Meanwhile, the translation functions are versatile and applicable beyond biomedicine research to other domains as well. Thefanyi package is freely available at https://***/YuLab-SMU/fanyi.
