Efficient charge-carrier injection and transport in organic light-emitting devices(OLEDs)are essential to simultaneously achieving their high efficiency and long-term ***,the charge-transporting layers(CTLs)deposited by various vapor or solution processes are usually in amorphous forms,and their low charge-carrier mobilities,defectinduced high trap densities and inhomogeneous thickness with rough surface morphologies have been obstacles towards high-performance ***,organic single-crystalline(SC)films were employed as the hole-transporting layers(HTLs)instead of the conventional amorphous films to fabricate highly efficient and stable *** highmobility and ultrasmooth morphology of the SC-HTLs facilitate superior interfacial characteristics of both HTL/electrode and HTL/emissive layer interfaces,resulting in a high Haacke’s figure of merit(FoM)of the ultrathin top electrode and low series-resistance joule-heat loss ratio of the ***,the thick and compact SC-HTL can function as a barrier layer against moisture and oxygen *** a result,the SC-OLEDs show much improved efficiency and stability compared to the OLEDs based on amorphous or polycrystalline HTLs,suggesting a new strategy to developing advanced OLEDs with high efficiency and high stability.

A novel relationship between elastic modulus and void ratio associated with principal stress for coral calcareous sand

Elastic moduli,*** modulus G and bulk modulus K,are important parameters of geotechnical materials,which are not only the indices for the evaluation of the deformation ability of soils but also the important basic parameters for the development of the constitutive models of geotechnical *** this study,a series of triaxial loading-unloading-reloading shear tests and isotropic loading-unloadingreloading tests are conducted to study several typical mechanical properties of coral calcareous sand(CCS),and the void ratio evolution during loading,unloading and *** test results show that the stress-strain curves during multiple unloading processes are almost parallel,and their slopes are much greater than the deformation modulus at the initial stage of *** relationship between the confining pressure and the volumetric strain can be defined approximately by a hyperbolic equation under the condition of monotonic loading of confining *** the condition of confining pressure unloading,the evolution of void ratio is linear in the e-lnp0 plane,and these lines are a series of almost parallel lines if there are multiple processes of *** on the experimental results,it is found that the modified Hardin formulae for the elastic modulus estimation have a significant deviation from the tested values for *** on the experimental results,it is proposed that the elastic modulus of soils should be determined by the intersection line of two spatial surfaces in the G/K-e-p’/pa space(pa:atmosphere pressure).“ye formulation”is further proposed for the estimation of the elastic modulus of *** new estimation formulation for soil elastic modulus would provide a new method to accurately describe the mechanical behavior of granular soils.

Tuning the surface electronic structure of noble metal aerogels to promote the electrocatalytic oxygen reduction

The sluggish kinetics of the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is the bottleneck for various electrochemical energy conversion *** the electronic structure of electrocatalysts by ligands has received particular attention in deriving valid ORR ***,the surface electronic structure of Ptbased noble metal aerogels(NMAs)was modulated by various organic ligands,among which the electron-withdrawing ligand of 4-methylphenylene effectively boosted the ORR *** calculations suggested the smaller energy barrier for the transformation of O^(*) to OH^(*) and downshift the d-band center of Pt due to the interaction between 4-methylphenylene and the surface metals,thus enhancing the ORR intrinsic *** Pt3Ni and Pt Pd aerogels with 4-methylphenylene decoration performed significant enhancement in ORR activity and durability in different ***,the 4-methylphenylene modified Pt Pd aerogel exhibited the higher halfwave potential of 0.952 V and the mass activity of 10.2 times of commercial Pt/*** work explained the effect of electronic structure on ORR electrocatalytic properties and would promote functionalized NMAs as efficient ORR electrocatalysts.

Herein, we report the first visible-light photoredox-catalyzed carboxylation of aryl epoxides with CO_(2)to synthesize hydroxy acid derivatives. A variety of valuable β-, γ-, δ-, ε–hydroxy acid derivatives are obtained in moderate to high yields under mild conditions. This protocol shows noteworthy functionalgroup compatibility, high chemo-and regioselectivities under transition-metal-free conditions with an inexpensive organo-dye as photosensitizer. Mechanistic studies indicate that the benzylic carbanion is generated as an intermediate via the sequential single electron transfer(SSET) process.

Coordinated Capacitor Voltage Balancing Method for Cascaded H-bridge Inverter with Supercapacitor and DC-DC Stage

Cascaded H-bridge inverter(CHBI) with supercapacitors(SCs) and dc-dc stage shows significant promise for medium to high voltage energy storage applications. This paper investigates the voltage balance of capacitors within the CHBI, including both the dc-link capacitors and SCs. Balance control over the dc-link capacitor voltages is realized by the dcdc stage in each submodule(SM), while a hybrid modulation strategy(HMS) is implemented in the H-bridge to balance the SC voltages among the SMs. Meanwhile, the dc-link voltage fluctuations are analyzed under the HMS. A virtual voltage variable is introduced to coordinate the balancing of dc-link capacitor voltages and SC voltages. Compared to the balancing method that solely considers the SC voltages, the presented method reduces the dc-link voltage fluctuations without affecting the voltage balance of SCs. Finally, both simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the presented method.

Bilayer borophene:an efficient catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction

The electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction is a crucial technique for green hydrogen ***,finding affordable,stable,and efficient catalyst materials to replace noble metal catalysts remains a significant *** experimental breakthroughs in the synthesis of two-dimensional bilayer borophene provide a theoretical framework for exploring their physical and chemical *** this study,we systematically considered nine types of bilayer borophenes as potential electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution *** first-principles calculations revealed that bilayer borophenes exhibit high stability and excellent conductivity,possessing a relatively large specific surface area with abundant active *** surface boron atoms and the bridge sites between two boron atoms can serve as active sites,displaying high activity for the hydrogen evolution ***,the Gibbs free energy change associated with adsorption for these bilayer borophenes can reach as low as−0.002 eV,and the Tafel reaction energy barriers are lower(0.70 eV)than those on ***,the hydrogen evolution reaction activity of these two-dimensional bilayer borophenes can be described by engineering their work ***,we considered the effect of pH on hydrogen evolution reaction activity,with significant activity observed in an acidic *** theoretical results reveal the excellent catalytic performance of two-dimensional bilayer borophenes and provide crucial guidance for the experimental exploration of multilayer boron for various energy applications.

In this paper,we consider the parallel-machine customer order scheduling with delivery time and submodular rejection *** this problem,we are given m dedicated machines in parallel and n customer *** order has a delivery time and consists of m product types and each product type should be manufactured on a dedicated *** order is either rejected,in which case a rejection penalty has to be paid,or accepted and manufactured on the m dedicated *** objective is to find a solution to minimize the sum of the maximum delivery completion time of the accepted orders and the penalty of the rejected orders which is determined by a submodular *** design an LP rounding algorithm with approximation ratio of n+1 for this problem.

Template matching is a fundamental task in computer vision and has been studied for *** plays an essential role in manufacturing industry for estimating the poses of different parts,facilitating downstream tasks such as robotic *** methods fail when the template and source images have different modalities,cluttered backgrounds,or weak *** also rarely consider geometric transformations via homographies,which commonly exist even for planar industrial *** tackle the challenges,we propose an accurate template matching method based on differentiable coarse-tofine correspondence *** use an edge-aware module to overcome the domain gap between the mask template and the grayscale image,allowing robust *** initial warp is estimated using coarse correspondences based on novel structure-aware information provided by *** initial alignment is passed to a refinement network using references and aligned images to obtain sub-pixel level correspondences which are used to give the final geometric *** evaluation shows that our method to be significantly better than state-of-the-art methods and baselines,providing good generalization ability and visually plausible results even on unseen real data.

Halogen-bond induced unusual polyhalogen anions formation in hydrogen-bonded frameworks to secure iodine sequestration

Safe confinement of fission iodine isotopes for long-term radioactive waste disposal remains a formidable challenge,as conventional sorbents provide inherently weak iodine-host *** report here a novel halogen bond(X-bond)directed strategy to sequester volatile iodine in hydrogen-bonded(H-bonded)frameworks with unprecedented ***-assisted Hbonded frameworks bearing open halide sites are developed,showing distinctive iodine encapsulation behaviors without compromising the *** crystallographic evidence indicates the formation of X-bonds,i.e.,I–I···Cl^(−) and I–I···Br^(−),within the confined pore *** polyhalogen anions,i.e.,[I_(2)Cl_(2)]^(2−)and[I_(2)Br_(2)]^(2−),sustained in H-bonded frameworks are identified for the first *** X-bond reinforced host-guest interaction affords robust iodine trapping without leaking out even at elevated temperatures up to 180℃.By integrating the halogen-bond chemistry with H-bonded frameworks,this study offers fresh concepts for developing effective host reservoirs to secure fission iodine isotopes from spent fuel reprocessing off-gases.

Associations between Social Media Use and Sleep Quality in China:Exploring the Mediating Role of Social Media Addiction

Sleep quality is closely linked to people’s health,and during the COVID-19 pandemic,the sleep patterns of residents in China were notably *** lockdown in China led to an increase in social media use,prompting questions about its impact on ***,this study investigates the association between social media use and sleep quality among Chinese residents during the COVID-19 outbreak,highlighting the potential mediating role of social media *** were collected via questionnaires through a cross-sectional survey with 779 valid *** analysis was used to test for differences in social media use among different demographic *** correlation analysis was employed to explore the relationships between variables,while regression analysis investigated the correlations between various media factors and sleep ***,Bootstrap sampling was utilized to analyze the potential mediating influence of social media addiction in the relationship between social media use and *** study's findings reveal a significant correlation between social media use,particularly before bedtime,and sleep quality(pdaily use of social media did not directly impact most individuals’sleep quality,specific platforms like news apps,short video apps,dating apps,and content community platforms were associated with higher levels of social media addiction,subsequently negatively affecting sleep ***,the use of news apps(B=0.068,95%CI[0.000,0.019]),short video apps(B=0.112,95%CI[0.001,0.031]),dating apps(B=0.147,95%CI[0.000,0.028]),and content community platforms(B=0.106,95%CI[0.001,0.028])was found to increase the risk of social media addiction,subsequently leading to adverse effects on sleep *** study underscores a notable link between social media use and sleep quality,suggesting that mindful social media habits,pa
