Enhanced ionic conductivity in a novel composite electrolyte based on Gd-doped SnO_(2) nanotubes for ultra-long-life all-solid-state lithium metal batteries

All-solid-state electrolytes are exceedingly attractive because of the outstanding inherent safety and energy density compared to liquid ***,it is still formidable to simultaneously design solid electrolytes with favorable electrode/electrolyte interface compatibility and high ionic conductivity in a simple and scalable ***,the oxygen-vacancy-rich Gd-doped SnO_(2) nanotubes(GDS NTs)are innovatively prepared and applied to the electrolyte of all-solid-state lithium metal batteries for the first *** addition of GDS NTs can validly construct long-range co ntinuous ion transport networks in the poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)-based system and greatly improve the mechanical properties of the *** to the PEO-based electrolyte,the composite electrolyte displays a higher lithium ion conductivity of 2.41×10^(-4) S cm^(-1) at 30℃,a higher lithium ion transference number up to 0.62 and a wider electrochemical window of 5 V at 50℃.In addition,the composite electrolyte manifests outstanding compatibility with high-voltage LiNi_(0.8)Mn_(0.1)Co_(0.1)O_(2)(NMC811)cathode,LiFePO4 cathode and lithium metal *** assembled Li/Li symmetric battery exhibits stable Li plating/stripping cycling performance,which can cycle steadily for 1500 h at a capacity of 0.3 mA h cm^(-2).And Li/LiFePO4 battery still maintains a high capacity of 131.54 mA h g^(-1) at 0.5C after 800 cycles,which has a superior capacity retention rate of 93.2%.The obtained novel composite electrolyte has promising application prospects in the field of all-solid-state lithium metal cells.

An equiatomic FeSiBAlNi amorphous high-entropy alloy （HEA） was fabricated by mechanical alloying （MA）. A fully amorphous phase was obtained in the FeSiBAlNi HEA after 240 h of MA. The bulk FeSiBAlNi samples were sintered by spark plasma sintering （SPS） at 520 and 1080℃ under a pressure of 80 MPa. The sample sintered at 520℃ exhibited an amorphous composite structure comprising solid-solution phases （body-centered cubic （bcc） and face-centered cubic （fee） phases）. When the as-milled amorphous HEA was consoli- dated at 1080℃, another fcc phase appeared and the amorphous phase disappeared. The sample sintered by SPS at 1080℃ exhibited a slightly higher melting temperature compared with those of the as-milled alloy and the bulk sample sintered at 520℃. The corrosion behav- iors of the as-sintered samples were investigated by potentiodynamic polarization measurements and immersion tests in seawater solution. The results showed that the HEA obtained by SPS at 1080℃ exhibited better corrosion resistance than that obtained by SPS at 520℃.

Modeling assessment of recovering iron from red mud by direct reduction： magnetic separation based on response surface methodology

Red mud, the waste generated during alumina production, contains iron and other valuable metals. To recover the iron efficiently from red mud, a three-factor five-level central composite design in response surface methodology was used to study the effects of process parameters, such as FC/O （the molar ratio of fixed carbon in coal to reducible oxygen of iron oxide in red mud）, reduction temperature, reduction time, and their interaction on the iron recovery rate and total iron content in magnetic product obtained from the process of direct reduction-magnetic separation. The relevant assessment model was established. The model could predict the changing rules of iron recovery rate and total iron content in the magnetic product affected by the process parameters. The results show that the iron recovery rate is significantly influenced by three factors and reduction temperature plays the most important role. The iron recovery rate and total iron content in magnetic product could be up to 98.37 and 82.52%, respectively, under the numerically optimal process parameters condition of reduction temperature of 1400 ℃, FC/O of 0.80 and reduction time of 100 min obtained by the assessment model. The predicted values are in good agreement with the experimental values.

BACKGROUND Aggressive vertebral hemangioma(VH)is an uncommon lesion in the adult *** vast majority of aggressive VHs have typical radiographic ***,preoperative diagnosis of atypical aggressive VH may be *** VHs are likely to recur even with en bloc *** SUMMARY A 52-year-old woman presented with a 3-mo history of numbness and pain in her right lower *** examination showed sacral tenderness and limited mobility,and the muscle strength was grade 4 in the right digital *** tomography revealed osteolytic bone destruction from S1 to *** resonance imaging(MRI)showed that the mass was compressing the dural sac;it was heterogeneously hypointense on T1-weighted MRI and hyperintense on T2-weighted MRI,and gadolinium contrast enhancement showed that the tumor was heterogeneously enhanced and invading the vertebral endplate of *** patient developed progressive back pain and numbness in the bilateral extremities 6 mo postoperatively,and MRI examination showed recurrence of the *** mass was larger in size than before the operation,and it was extending into the spinal *** The radiographic findings of atypical aggressive VH include osteolytic vertebral bone destruction,extension of the mass into the spinal canal,and heterogeneous signal intensity on T1-,T2-,and enhanced T1-weighted *** characteristics make preoperative diagnosis difficult,and biopsy is necessary to verify the *** decompression and gross total resection are recommended for treatment of aggressive ***,recurrence is inevitable in some cases.

BL03HB: a Laue microdiffraction beamline for both protein crystallography and materials science at SSRF

A Laue microdiffraction beamline(BL03HB) was constructed at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility(SSRF).This beamline features two consecutive focusing points in two different sectors within its end station, the first dedicated to protein crystallography and the other tailored to materials science applications. Based on a superbend dipole magnet with a magnetic field of 2.29 T, a two-stage focusing design was implemented with two sets of Kirkpatrick-Baez mirrors to achieve a micro white beam as small as 4.2 μ m ×4.3 μ m at the first sector and 0.9 μ m ×1.3 μ m at the second sector in the standard beamline operation mode at SSRF. The X-ray microbeam in the two sectors can be easily switched between monochromatic and white beams by moving a four-bounce monochromator in or out of the light path, respectively. In the protein crystallography sector, white-beam Laue microdiffraction was demonstrated to successfully determine the structure of protein crystals from only a few images of diffraction data collected by a Pilatus 2 M area detector. In the materials science sector,the white-beam Laue diffraction was collected in a reflection geometry using another Pilatus 2 M area detector, which could map the microstructural distribution on the sample surface by scanning the samples. In general, the BL03HB beamline promotes the application of Laue microdiffraction in both protein crystallography and materials science. This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the BL03HB beamline, end station, and the first commission results.
