Drivers for Inter-city Innovation Networks Across Chinese Cities:Modelling Physical Versus Intangible Effects

Cross-region innovation is widely recognized as an important source of the long-term regional innovation *** the recent past,a growing number of studies has investigated the network structure and mechanisms of cross-region innovation collaboration in various ***,existing research mainly focuses on physical effects,such as geographical distance and high-speed railway *** studies ignore the intangible drivers in a changing environment,the more digitalized economy and the increasingly solidified innovation network ***,the focus of this study is on estimating determinants of innovation networks,especially on intangible drivers,which have been largely neglected so *** city-level data of Chinese patents(excluding Hong Kong,Macao,and Taiwan Province of China),we trace innovation networks across Chinese cities over a long period of *** integrating a measure on Information and Communications Technology(ICT)development gap and network structural effects into the general proximity framework,this paper explores the changing mechanisms of Chinese innovation networks from a new *** results show that the structure of cross-region innovation networks has changed in *** mechanisms behind this development,the results confirm the increasingly important role of intangible drivers in Chinese inter-city innovation collaboration when controlling for effects of physical proximity,such as geographical *** digitalization and coordinated development are the mainstream trends in China and other developing countries,these countries'inter-city innovation collaboration patterns will witness dramatic changes under the influence of intangible drivers.

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium for ternary system of ethanol, ethyl propionate and para-xylene at 101.3 kPa

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium(VLE) data for the binary system ethyl propionate(2) + para-xylene(3) and ternary system ethanol(1) + ethyl propionate(2) + para-xylene(2) at atmospheric pressure(101.3 k Pa)were obtained by a VLE modified othmer still. All the experimental data passed a point to point consistency test of Van Ness method, which verified the data reliability. The Wilson and UNIQUAC activity coefficient models were employed to correlate the binary VLE data to obtain binary interaction parameters. Based on binary interaction parameters, ternary VLE data of ethanol(1) + ethyl propionate(2) + para-xylene(3) were predicted by Wilson and UNIQUAC models, which proved that predicted values are consistent with the experimental ***, azeotropic phenomenon between ethanol and ethyl propionate disappears when the mole ratio of para-xylene and binary system of ethanol and ethyl propionate is 1:1. Therefore, this paper convinced that para-xylene is a proper extractive additive that could be used in extractive distillation to separate the binary azeotropic system of ethanol and ethyl propionate.

Photonic Crystal-Enhanced Photodynamic Antibacterial Therapy

Photodynamic antibacterial therapy(PDAT)is a kind of rejuvenating strategy that combats bacterial infection due to its admirable characteristics of noninvasiveness and broad-spectrum antibacterial ***,the efficiency of PDAT can be greatly hindered by limited light ***,we propose an enhanced PDAT by employing photonic composite films(PCFs)via slow photon and multiple scattering *** PCFs are obtained by UV light-initiated polymerization of poly(ethylene glycol)phenyl ether acrylate with a self-assembled SiO_(2)colloidal particle array,followed by the deposition of photosensitizers(PSs).The PCFs can prompt the PSs with matched absorption,which are deposited on their surface,to sufficiently utilize the incident light and generate more reactive oxygen species based on the slow photon phenomenon of photonic crystals and multiple scattering effects of the SiO_(2)colloidal *** finding demonstrates the great potential and significance of PCFs in the field of PDAT,which may reduce the requirements of excitation equipment and avoid damage to normal tissues from exposure to huge light energy.

Wound management is a crucial measure for skin wound healing and is significantly important to maintaining the integrity of skins and their *** stimulation at the wound site is a compelling strategy for skin wound ***,there has been an urgent need for wearable and point-of-care electrical stimulation devices that have self-adhesive and mechanical properties comparable to wound ***,we develop a bioinspired hybrid patch with self-adhesive and piezoelectric nanogenerator(HPSP)for promoting skin wound healing,which is composed of a mussel-inspired hydrogel matrix and a piezoelectric nanogenerator based on aligned electrospun poly(vinylidene fluoride)*** device with optimized modulus and permeability for skin wear can self-adhere to the wound site and locally produce a dynamic voltage caused by *** show that the HPSP not only promotes fibroblast proliferation and migration in vitro,but also effectively facilitates the collagen deposition,angiogenesis,and re-epithelialization in vivo with the increased expressions of crucial growth *** HPSP reduces the wound closure time of full-thickness skin defects by about 1/3,greatly accelerating the healing *** patch can serve as wearable and real-time electrical stimulation devices,potentially useful in clinical applications of skin wound healing.

Extraction, Purification, and Characterization of Insoluble Dietary Fiber from Oat Bran

The dietary fiber in oats is mainly concentrated in the bran;however,the oat bran is mostly used for livestock and poultry feed and thus has a low utilization rate and low added *** this study,insoluble dietary fiber(IDF)was extracted by a combination ofα-amylase and neutral *** optimal extraction conditions of the IDF were obtained by response surface *** material-to-water ratio was 1:12.1,the concentration ofα-amylase was 1.85%,and the hydrolysis time was 39.14 *** purifying the crude fiber with 4%sodium oxide(Na OH),70°C hot water,and anhydrous ethanol,the purity of dietary fiber exceeded 95%.X-ray diffraction analysis indicated that the IDF was predominantly *** electron microscopy showed that the IDF surface exhibited a loose porous network ***-transform infrared spectroscopy of the crude IDF showed characteristic absorption peaks at 3626,2929,1667,1538,1455,1242,and1048 cm^(-1),while the infrared spectrum of the purified IDF showed characteristic absorption peaks at 3401,2924,1744,1643,1418,and 1040 cm^(-1),which is consistent with the structure of cellulose *** scanning calorimetry analysis showed that there were three exothermic peaks at 270–310°C,320–350°C,and 440–460°C,which may represent the pyrolysis peaks of hemicellulose,cellulose,and lignin,respectively,indicating that the oat bran IDF had good thermal *** results indicate that the oat bran IDF can be used for the production of dietary fiber products and health-care products.

Trilayered Fibrous Dressing with Wettability Gradient for Spontaneous and Directional Transport of Massive Exudate and Wound Healing Promotion

Excessive exudate at wound sites increases treatment difficulty and severely decelerates the healing *** wound exu-date management,dressings with unidirectional liquid transport capability have exhibited enormous ***,it remains challenging to improve the one-way liquid transport ***,a trilayered fibrous dressing is constructed by sequentially electrospinning polyurethane(PU)and polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)onto cotton *** hot pressing,a stable wettability gradient is formed across the PVDF/PU/cotton dressing due to the melting and bridging of PU *** trilayered dressing exhibited rapid unidirectional transport with water penetrating from the hydrophobic side to the hydrophilic side in 6 *** hydrostatic pressure from the hydrophilic side to the hydrophobic side is 569%higher than that from the hydrophobic side to the hydrophilic side,indicating that the dressing has a profound unidirectional *** vivo experiments demonstrates that the trilayered dressing can accelerate the wound healing process,especially in the early stages of wound occurrence,by quickly draining the excessive *** study provides a new method to construct wound dressings with wettability gradients,which are advantageous for efficient exudate removal.

A central analgesic mechanism of acupuncture for migraine An ongoing functional MRI study

Shaoyang acupoints are the most frequently used in migraine treatment. However, the central anal- gesic mechanism remains poorly understood. Studies have demonstrated that single stimulus of the verum acupuncture in healthy subjects can induce significant connectivity or activity changes in pain- related central networks compared with sham acupuncture. However, these findings are not indicative of the central analgesic mechanism of acupuncture at Shaoyang acupoints. Thus, we recruited 100 migraine sufferers and randomly assigned them into five groups： Shaoyang uncommon acupoint, Shaoyang common acupoint, Yangming uncommon acupoint, non-acupoint control, and blank control groups. Subjects were subjected to evaluation of curative effects and functional MRI prior to and after 10 and 20 acupuncture treatments. All subjects were diagnosed by physicians and enrolled following clinical physical examination. Subjects were observed during 1-4 weeks after inclusion. At the fifth week, the first clinical evaluation and resting functional MRI were conducted. The Shaoyang uncom- mon acupoint, Shaoyang common acupoint, Yangming uncommon acupoint, and non-acupoint control grousp then were treated with acupuncture, five times per week, 20 times in total over 4 weeks. The second and third clinical evaluations and resting functional MRI screenings were conducted following 10 and 20 acupuncture treatments. The blank control group was observed during the 5 to 8 week pe- riod, followed by clinical evaluation and resting functional MRI. The aim of this study was to examine changes in brain functional activity and central networks in subjects with migraine undergoing acu- puncture at Shaoyang uncommon acupoints. Variation of Serum Protein Level in Xiang Piglets at Different Month of Age

Usual clinieal methods were used to determine the concentrations of scrum protein, albumin and globulin in Xiang piglets from the 1st month to the 6th month of age. Thirteen piglcts(cight males and five females) born in Spring were selected from the Livestock Experimental Station of NEAU. The results showed that the scrum protein level was different at different month of age. The lowest level was found at the 1st month of age, and the highest at the 4th month of age. The difference in scrum protein concentration was significant between different months of age. There was, however, no significant difference between sexes at the same month of age.

microRNAs in heart failure

Heart failure is the leading cause of mortality in the world and represents the fastest growing subclass of cardiovascular diseases. An increasing body of evidence indicates an important role for microRNAs （miRNAs） in the pathogenesis and progression of heart failure. miRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNAs about 20 to 24 nucleotides （nt）（a few less than 20 nt） to regulate target gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Mature miRNAs are formed after shearing a period of hairpin loop structure, the length of 70-80 nt and single stranded RNA precursors （pre-miRNA） with Dicer or nuclease as similar as Dicer.

Cerebral fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations may predict headache intensity improvement following acupuncture treatment in migraine patients

OBJECTIVE:To explore how baseline resting-state cerebral function predicts clinical outcomes of acupuncture treatment for ***:One hundred migraine patients and 46 healthy subjects were *** were randomized into the acupuncture,sham acupuncture,and waiting list ***-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data were collected at baseline and after 1 month of longitudinal acupuncture *** amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(f ALFF)calculations were applied to explore the associations between baseline f ALFF and changes in clinical variables in the acupuncture treatment group and the waiting list ***:Compared with healthy subjects,migraine patients had lower f ALFF in the left rostral ventromedial medulla,right thalamus,left amygdala,and right angular *** analyses revealed that baseline f ALFF values in the left middle frontal gyrus,left superior temporal gyrus,and middle temporal gyrus were positively associated with headache intensity changes in the acupuncture treatment group,while baseline f ALFF values in the bilateral lingual gyrus and cuneus were negatively associated with headache intensity changes in this ***:The baseline f ALFF values of brain regions associated with cognitive pain modulation,but not migraine severity,may predict future headache intensity improvement levels in migraine patients receiving acupuncture treatment.
