Acquisition of acoustic emission precursor information for rock masses with a single joint based on clustering-convolutional neural network method

The method for precursor information acquisition based on acoustic emission(AE)data for jointed rock masses is of significant importance for the early warning of dynamic disasters in underground engineering.A clustering-convolutional neural network(CNN)method is proposed,which comprises a clustering component and a CNN component.A series of uniaxial compression tests were conducted on granite specimens containing a persistent sawtooth joint,with different strain rates(105e102 s1)and joint inclination angles(0e50).The results demonstrate that traditional precursory indicators based on full waveforms are effective for obtaining precursor information of the intact rock ***,these indicators are not universally applicable to the failure of rock masses with a single *** clustering-CNN method has the potential to be applied to obtain precursor information for all three failure modes(Modes I,II and III).Following the waveform clustering analysis,the effective waveforms exhibit a low main frequency,as well as high energy,ringing count,and rise ***,the clustering method and the precursory indicators influence the acquisition of final precursor *** Birch hierarchical clustering method and the S value precursory indicator can help to obtain more accurate *** findings of this study may contribute to the development of warning methods for underground engineering across faults.

Diffusion and catalyst efficiency in hierarchical zeolite catalysts

The preparation of hierarchical zeolites with reduced diffusion limitation and enhanced catalyst efficiency has become a vital focus in the field of zeolites and porous materials chemistry within the past decades. This review will focus on the diffusion and catalyst efficiency of hierarchical zeolites and industrial catalysts. The benefits of diffusion and catalyst efficiency at two levels of hierarchies (zeolitic component level and industrial catalyst level) from a chemical reaction engineering point of view will be analysed. At zeolitic component level, three types of mesopores based on the strategies applied toward enhancing the catalyst effectiveness factor are presented:(i)‘functional mesopores’(raising effective diffusivity);(ii)‘auxiliary mesopores’(decreasing diffusion length); and (iii)‘integrated mesopores’(a combination thereof). At industrial catalyst level, location and interconnectivity among the constitutive components are *** hierarchical pore interconnectivity in multi-component zeolite based industrial catalysts is exemplified by fluid catalytic cracking and bi-functional hydroisomerization catalysts. The rational design of industrial zeolite catalysts at both hierarchical zeolitic component and catalyst body levels can be fully comprehended using the advanced in situ and/or operando spectroscopic, microscopic and diffraction techniques.

Identification of LPV system using locally weighted technique

The problem of linear parameter varying （LPV） system identification is considered based on the locally weighted technique which provides estimation of the LPV model parameters at each distinct data time point by giving large weights to measurements that are ＂close＂ to the current time point and small weights to measurements ＂far＂ from the current time point. Issues such as choice of distance function, weighting function and bandwidth selection are discussed. The developed method is easy to implement and simulation results illustrate its efficiency.

Chaotic Identification and Prediction of Silicon Content in Hot Metal

The time series data of silicon content in hot metal were identified to have the chaotic feature because of the positive maximum Lyapunov exponent, and then the time scales to predict future were estimated. Finally a chaotic local-region model was constructed to predict silicon content in hot metal with good performance due to high hitting rate.

Unveiling the promotion role of ZnO on Zn-Al spinel oxide for CO_(2)hydrogenation

The Zn-Al spinel oxide stands out as one of the most active catalysts for high-temperature methanol synthesis from CO_(2)***,the structure–activity relationship of the reaction remains poorly understood due to challenges in atomic-level structural characterizations and analysis of reaction *** this study,we prepared two Zn-Al spinel oxide catalysts via coprecipitation(ZnAl-C)and hydrothermal(ZnAl-H)methods,and conducted a comparative investigation in the CO_(2)hydrogenation ***,under similar conditions,ZnAl-C exhibited significantly higher selectivity towards methanol and DME compared to *** characterizations using X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)unveiled that ZnAl-C catalyst had abundant ZnO species on its surface,and the interaction between the ZnO species and its ZnAl spinel oxide matrix led to the formation of oxygen vacancies,which are crucial for CO_(2)adsorption and ***,state-of-the-art solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques,including ex-situ and in-situ NMR analyses,confirmed that the surface ZnO facilitates the formation of unique highly reactive interfacial formate species,which was readily hydrogenated to methanol and *** insights elucidate the promotion effects of ZnO on the ZnAl spinel oxide in regulating active sites and reactive intermediates for CO_(2)-to-methanol hydrogenation reaction,which is further evidenced by the significant enhancement in methanol and DME selectivity observed upon loading ZnO onto the ZnAl-H *** molecular-level mechanism understandings reinforce the idea of optimizing the ZnO-ZnAl interface through tailored synthesis methods to achieve activity-selectivity balance.

Experimental deformation of shales at elevated temperature and pressure: Pore-crack system evolution and its effects on shale gas reservoirs

Although many studies based on naturally deformed samples have been carried out to investigate the pore-crack characteristics of shales, studies based on high temperature(T) and high pressure(P)deformation experiments, which can exclude sample heterogeneity factors, simulate deep T-P conditions,and generate a continuous deformation sequence, are still rare. In this study, shales with different deformation levels are generated by triaxial compression experiments, and methods including scanning electron microscopy, mercury injection, and gas sorption are utilized to characterize their influence factors and pore-crack characteristics. Results indicate that T is the primary factor influencing shale deformation when P is low, while P is dominant under high P conditions. At T 200℃ and P > 110 MPa, shales are subjected to ductile deformation, and their micro-and mesopores drop significantly due to the intense compaction in the matrix while macropores continuously increase with crack expansion. The permeability of shale increases with the degree of deformation and ductile material contents are predicted to be a key factor determining whether open microcracks can be preserved after ductile deformation. To account for these experimental results, an ideal model of micro pore-crack system evolution in deformed shales is further proposed, which can provide guidance for the exploration of shale gas resources in the deep or structurally complex zones.

AIM: To investigate the role of c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase 1 and 2 (JNK1/2) and the main signal pathway forits activation in hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) induced apoptotic-like cortical cell death. METHODS: Using the modelof oxidative stress induced by H2O2, the expression and diphosphorylation of JNK1/2 was examined by immunoblottinganalysis, and neuronal apoptotic like cell death was determined by 4’,6-diamidino-2-phenylindole (DAPI) ***: The elevation in diphosphorylation level of JNK1/2 (4.40-/5.61-fold vs sham control) was associatedwith the concentration of H2O2 (0-100 mol/L) and the development of apoptotic-like cell death (11.04 %-81.01 %).There was no alteration of JNK1/2 protein expression following H2O2 treatment and recovery at different timepoints. Administration with JNK1/2 antisense oligonucleotides not only significantly decreased JNK1/2 proteinexpression and activation level, but also significantly reduced cortical cell death induced by H2O2 ***, both JNK1/2 diphosphorylation and apoptotic-like cell death were largely prevented by pretreatmentwith (5S,10R)-()-5-methyl-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5,10-imine hydrogen maleate (MK-801)or omission of Ca2+ in incubation medium with ethylene glycol-bis(2-aminoethylether)-N,N,N’,N’-tetraacetic acid(EGTA). CONCLUSION: JNK1/2 is activated and participates in H2O2-induced apoptotic-like death in cultured ratcortical neurons mainly via N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor-mediated influx of extracellular Ca2+.

The cGAS–STING pathway plays an important role in ischemia-reperfusion injury in the heart,liver,brain,and kidney,but its role and mechanisms in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury have not been systematically ***,we outline the components of the cGAS–STING pathway and then analyze its role in autophagy,ferroptosis,cellular pyroptosis,disequilibrium of calcium homeostasis,inflammatory responses,disruption of the blood–brain barrier,microglia transformation,and complement system activation following cerebral ischemia-reperfusion *** further analyze the value of cGAS–STING pathway inhibitors in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury and conclude that the pathway can regulate cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury through multiple *** of the cGAS–STING pathway may be helpful in the treatment of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Analysis and Simulation of Light Extraction of Light-Emitting Diodes:Simulation Efficiency

Two foundational factors （escape cone and transmissivity） about light extraction of light emitting diodes （LEDs） are discussed. According to these factors, a new process to simulate the light extraction of LEDs based on the Monte Carlo method has been provided. The improved method is to deal with the reflection and refraction of light （beam of light） at the interface between two mediums approximately. In addition, light extraction of traditional LEDs is simulated by different processes with the same structure and parameters. The results show that the reflection and refraction of light processed approximately are accurate enough for analyzing LEDs structure. This method saves much time and improves efficiency in the simulation of light extraction of LEDs.
