Buechel Pappas Resurf.cing Shoulder Replacement: Evolution and over 40 Years of.Clinical Experience

Background: Early exploration of.the semi constrained “f.oating-Socket” total shoulder replacement (TSR) in 1974 led to a prolif.ration of.various unconstrained designs that allowed resection or retention of.the humeral head, depending upon the pathological process involved. Degenerative glenohumeral arthritis with mild to moderate involvement of.subchondral bone allowed f.r a resurf.cing option, while severe humeral head involvement required a partial or f.ll humeral head replacement attached to an intramedullary stem f.r f.xation. All components evolved f.om cemented to cementless application by 1982. The purpose of.this paper is to describe the progression of.Buechel-Pappas (B-P) shoulder replacement development f.om the early 1970’s in both cemented and cement less applications. Methods: Clinical evaluations of.“f.oating-Socket” TSR, f.llowed by B-P stem-type, resurf.cing types, bipolar-type and revision components, all of.which comprise the B-P Shoulder Replacement System, were perf.rmed over a 49-year period. Results: “f.oating-Socket” implants improved the results of.simple, constrained ball-in-socket designs, but generally f.iled by glenoid component loosening in both chimpanzee and human applications. Unconstrained resurf.cing-type components, both anatomical humeral head and f.ll proximal humeral components, were quite successf.l, with minimal f.ilures observed in long-term studies. Bipolar salvage implants, used f.r severe proximal def.ciencies, revisions and massive rotator cuf. arthropathy, were also very successf.l;providing overhead range of.motion in many patients. Conclusions: Resurf.cing hemiarthroplasty, in patients with intact or repairable rotator cuf. mechanisms, gave the most satisf.ctory results and were the least technically complicated to perf.rm, requiring minimal instrumentation. Resurf.cing of.f.ll proximal humeral def.ciencies, using f.moral resurf.cing components, gave similar clinical results to more complex semi-constrained devices,

The 2014-15 Ebola virus reported during March 2014 Guinea. has shown itself.to （EBOV） outbreak, originally n the Western Af.ican nation of.be resistant to traditional con- tainment methods, with over 28,000 inf.ctions and 11,000 deaths over 18 months. Recently, news that a Scottish nurse had relapsed to EBOV disease with neurological symptoms at 10 months af.er recovery have astonished experts. The prolonged nature of.the outbreak has led to questions whether EBOV can become endemic in the human popula- tion, an undesirable outcome due to the large amount of.resources required to keep this virus under control. In this commentary, we discuss aspects EBOV disease with those caused by pathogens considered endemic in humans, as well as f.ctors which may contribute to sustained EBOV transmission in humans.

Socioecological inequity in environmental data science—such as inequities deriving f.om data-driven approaches and machine learning(ML)—are current issues subject to debate and *** is growing consensus around embedding equity throughout all research and design domains—f.om inception to administration,while also addressing procedural,distributive,and recognitional ***,practically doing so may seem onerous or daunting to *** current perspective helps to alleviate these types of.concerns by providing substantiation f.r the connection between environmental data science and socioecological inequity,using the Systemic Equity f.amework,and provides the f.undation f.r a paradigmatic shif. toward normalizing the use of.equity-centered approaches in environmental data science and ML *** the integrity of.environmental data science and ML is just beginning f.om an equity-centered tool development and rigorous application *** this end,this perspective also provides relevant f.ture directions and challenges by overviewing some meaningf.l tools and strategies—such as applying the Wells-Du Bois Protocol,employing f.irness metrics,and systematically addressing irreproducibility;emerging needs and proposals—such as addressing data-proxy bias and supporting convergence research;and establishes a ten-step path ***,the work that environmental scientists and engineers do ultimately af.ect the well-being of.us all.

To address f.xed-time consensus problems of.a class of.leader-f.llower second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with uncertain external disturbances,the event-triggered f.xed-time consensus protocol is ***,the virtual velocity is designed based on the backstepping control method to achieve the system consensus and the bound on convergence time only depending on the system ***,an event-triggered mechanism is presented to solve the problem of.f.equent communication between agents,and triggered condition based on state inf.rmation is given f.r each *** is available to save communication resources,and the Zeno behaviors are ***,the delay and switching topologies of.the system are also ***,the system stabilization is analyzed by Lyapunov stability ***,simulation results demonstrate the validity of.the presented method.

Background: Although some well-established oncogenes are involved in cancer initiation and progression such as prostate cancer (PCa), the long tail of.cancer genes remains to be def.ned. Goosecoid (GSC) has been implicated in cancer development. However, the comprehensive biological role of.SC in pan-cancer, specif.cally in PCa, remains unexplored. The aim of.this study was to investigate the role of.SC in PCa ***: We perf.rmed a systematic bioinf.rmatics exploration of.SC using datasets f.om The Cancer Genome Atlas, Genotype-Tissue Expression, Gene Expression Omnibus, German Cancer Research Center, and our in-house cohorts. f.rst, we evaluated the expression of.SC and its association with patient prognosis, and identif.edGSC-relevant genetic alterations in cancers. f.rther, we f.cused on the clinical characterization and prognostic analysis of.SC in PCa. To understand the transcriptional regulation of.SC by E2f.transcription f.ctor 1 (E2f.), we perf.rmed chromatin immunoprecipitation quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR). f.nctional experiments were conducted to validate the ef.ect of.SC on the tumor cellular phenotype and sensitivity to ***: GSC expression was elevated in various tumors and signif.cantly correlated with patient prognosis. The alterations of.SC contribute to the progression of.various tumors especially in PCa. Patients with PCa and highGSC expression exhibited worse progression-f.ee survival and biochemical recurrence outcomes. f.rther,GSC upregulation in patients with PCa was mostly accompanied with higher Gleason score, advanced tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, and elevated prostate-specif.c antigen (PSA) levels. Mechanistically, the transcription f.ctor,E2f., stimulatesGSC by binding to its promoter region. Detailed experiments f.rther demonstrated thatGSC acted as an oncogene and inf.uenced the response of.PCa cells to trametinib ***: GSC was highly overexpressed and strongly correlate

Evidence f.r the Reliability and Validity of.the Arabic Version of.the Student Risk Screening Scale f.r Internalizing and Externalizing Behaviors (SRSS-IE)

School-based universal screening f.r behavioral/emotional risk is a necessary f.rst step to providing services in an educational setting f.r students with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBDs). Psychometric properties are critical to making decisions about choosing a screening instrument. The purpose of.the present study was to examine the psychometric properties of.the student risk screening scale f.r internalizing and externalizing behaviors (SRSS-IE). Participants included 3145 students and their teachers. Item-level analyses of.the current sample supported the retention of.all items. The internal consistency of.the SRSS items ranged f.om 0.83 to 0.85. Convergent validity between the SRSS-IE and a well-established screening tool, the strength and dif.iculties questionnaire (SDQ), was f.und f.r the total score (r = 0.70). Additionally, the results of.this study demonstrate strong social validity, suggesting the SRSS-IE to be a usef.l and f.nctional screening tool. We conclude that the SRSS-IE is a valid and reliable instrument f.r assessing the level of.emotional and behavioral dif.iculties among elementary students.

采用二次阳极氧化法在NH_(4)f.(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4)复合电解液中制备近似莲藕状TiO_(2)纳米管阵列(TNTAs)。通过XRD、SEM、PL(光致发光光谱)等手段研究了不同阳极氧化电压下制备的TNTAs的结构、形貌以及光生载流子的分离率。同时,在模拟太阳光下,通过测试光生电流密度评估其光电化学性能,通过测试开路电位、Taf.l极化电位和EIS拟合曲线评估对304SS的阴极保护效果。结果显示,当阳极氧化电压为25 V时,TNTAs莲藕状清晰,规整度较高,光生载流子分离率高,光生电流密度达到最高值为309.2μA·cm^(-2),开路电位达到最低值-0.986 V(***/AgCl)时,对304SS的阴极保护效果较好。

In tea plants,the abundant f.avonoid compounds are responsible f.r the health benef.ts f.r the human body and def.ne the astringent f.avor *** the downstream mechanisms of.f.avonoid biosynthesis have been extensively studied,the role of.chalcone synthase(CHS)in this secondary metabolic process in tea plants remains less *** this study,we compared the evolutionary prof.le of.the f.avonoid metabolism pathway and discovered that gene duplication of.CHS occurred in tea *** identif.ed three CsCHS genes,along with a CsCHS-like gene,as potential candidates f.r f.rther f.nctional *** the CsCHS-like gene,the CsCHS genes ef.ectively restored f.avonoid production in Arabidopsis ***,CsCHS transgenic tobacco plants exhibited higher f.avonoid compound accumulation compared to their wild-type *** notably,our examination of.promoter and gene expression levels f.r the selected CHS genes revealed distinct responses to UV-B stress in tea *** f.ndings suggest that environmental f.ctors such as UV-B exposure could have been the key drivers behind the gene duplication events in CHS.
