Transposable elements(TEs) are ubiquitous genomic components and hard to study due to being highly repetitive. Here we assembled 232 chromosome-level genomes based on long-read sequencing *** the 232 genomes with 15 existing assemblies, we developed a pan-TE map comprising both cultivated and wild Asian rice. We detected 177 084 high-quality TE variations and inferred their derived state using outgroups. We found TEs were one source of phenotypic variation during rice domestication and differentiation. We identified 1246 genes whose expression variation was associated with TEs but not single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs), such as Os Rboh B, and validated Os Rboh B's relative expression activity using a dual-Luciferase(LUC) reporter assays system. Our pan-TE map allowed us to detect multiple novel loci associated with agronomic traits. Collectively, our findings highlight the contributions of TEs to domestication, differentiation and agronomic traits in rice, and there is massive potential for gene cloning and molecular breeding by the high-quality Asian pan-TE map we generated.

Background: The role of Claudin-1 in tongue squamous cell carcinoma(TSCC) metastasis needs further clarification, particularly its impact on cell migration. Herein, our study aims to investigate the role of Claudin-1 in TSCC cell migration and its underlying ***: 36 TSCC tissue samples underwent immunohistochemical staining for Claudin-1. Western blotting and immunofluorescence analyses were conducted to evaluate Claudin-1 expression and distribution in TSCC cells. Claudin-1 knockdown cell lines were established using short hairpin RNA transfection. Migration effects were assessed through wound healing assays. For sessile plants, gene expression plays a pivotal role in responding to salinity stress by activating or suppressing specific genes. However, our knowledge of genetic variations governing gene expression in response to salt stress remains limited in natural germplasm. Through transcriptome analysis of the Global Mini-Core Rice Collection consisting of a panel of 202 accessions, we identified 22 345 and 27 610expression quantitative trait loci associated with the expression of 7787 and 9361 e Genes under normal and salt-stress conditions, respectively, leveraging the super pan-genome map. Notably, combined with genome-wide association studies, we swiftly pinpointed the potential candidate gene STG5—a major salt-tolerant locus known as q STS5. Intriguingly, STG5 is required for maintaining Na+/K+homeostasis by directly regulating the transcription of multiple members of the Os HKT gene family. Our study sheds light on how genetic variants influence the dynamic changes in gene expression responding to salinity stress and provides a valuable resource for the mining of salt-tolerant genes in the future.

A typical Riedel Shear Pattern of active faults in the Laolongwan Basin， Northeastern Tibetan Plateau

Riedel shear system， consists of some different oriented faults and derivative structures， is an important pattern of tectonic activity and stress regulation， which has been widely applied to the interpretation of intracontinental deformation. The Laolongwan Basin， located in the western Haiyuan fault zone at the northeastern Tibetan Plateau， is a key area to study the Cenozoic intracontinental deformation in the northeastern plateau， which formed a complex active fault system during the Cenozoic. However， the activity of these faults and their kinematic mechanism remain unclear. In this contribution， based on detailed structural interpretation of remote sensing image， field observations and OSL dating analysis， we propose a Riedel Shear model of active fault system in the Laolongwan basin. Our observations show that this active fault system is consist of four major faults， including the left strike-slip Hasi Shan Fault and Zihong Shan Fault with thrusting characteristics， the Southern Zihong Shan thrust fault and the Mijia Shan normal fault. The fault offset and OSL dating analyses suggest that the left-lateral slip rate of the Hasi Shan Fault is ～ 2.60-3.01 mm/a since ca. 15 ka， whereas the Zihong Shan Fault is ～ 1.10-1.13 mm/a since ca. 14 ka. Fault-slip vectors analyses indicate that the active fault system related to the Riedel Shear in the Laolongwan Basin was controlled by the regional ENE-WSW compressive stress. This compression also caused the significant left-lateral strike-slip movement along the Haiyuan Fault zone at the same time， which might result from the northeastward continuous expanding of the Tibetan Plateau during the late Cenozoic.

Objective:To evaluate the effect and safety of foot baths with Tangbi Waixi Decoction(TW)in treating patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN).Methods:It is a multicenter double-blinded randomized controlled *** with DPN were recruited between November 18,2016 and May 30,2018 from 8 hospitals in *** patients received basic treatments for glycemic *** received foot baths with TW herbal granules either 66.9 g(intervention group)or 6.69 g(control group)for 30 min once a day for 2 weeks and followed by a 2-week rest,as a therapeutic *** the Toronto Clinical Scoring System total score(TCSS-TS)6 points,the patients received a total of 3 therapeutic courses(for 12 weeks)and were followed up for 12 *** primary outcome was change in TCSS-TS score at 12 and 24 *** outcomes included changes in bilateral motor nerve conduction velocity(MNCV)and sensory nerve conduction velocity(SNCV)of the median and common peroneal *** was also ***:Totally 632 patients were enrolled,and 317 and 315 were randomized to the intervention and control groups,*** the 12-week intervention,patients in both groups showed significant declines in TCSSTS scores,and significant increases in MNCV and SNCV of the median and common peroneal nerves compared with pre-treatment(Pdian nerve at 24 weeks in the control group were greater than those in the intervention group(Pdid not differ significantly between groups(P>0.05),and no serious adverse event was related with ***:Treatment of TW foot baths was safe and significantly benefitted patients with DPN.A low dose of TW appeared to be more effective than a high dose.(Registry *** CTR-IOR-16009331)
