A new neural network model for the feedback stabilization of nonlinear systems

A new neural network model termed ‘standard neural network model’ (SNNM) is presented, and a state-feedback control law is then designed for the SNNM to stabilize the closed-loop system. The control design constraints are shown to be a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which can be easily solved by the MATLAB LMI Control Toolbox to determine the control law. Most recurrent neural networks (including the chaotic neural network) and nonlinear systems modeled by neural networks or Takagi and Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models can be transformed into the SNNMs to be stabilization controllers synthesized in the framework of a unified SNNM. Finally, three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the design developed in this paper.

On modeling of electrical cyber-physical systems considering cyber security

This paper establishes a new framework for modeling electrical cyber-physical systems(ECPSs),integrating both power grids and communication networks. To model the communication network associated with a power transmission grid, we use a mesh network that considers the features of power transmission grids such as high-voltage levels, long-transmission distances, and equal importance of each node. Moreover, bidirectional links including data uploading channels and command downloading channels are assumed to connect every node in the communication network and a corresponding physical node in the transmission grid. Based on this model,the fragility of an ECPS is analyzed under various cyber attacks including denial-of-service(Do S) attacks, replay attacks, and false data injection attacks. Control strategies such as load shedding and relay protection are also verified using this model against these attacks.

Convergence analysis of distributed Kalman filtering for relative sensing networks

We study the distributed Kalman filtering problem in relative sensing networks with rigorous *** relative sensing network is modeled by an undirected graph while nodes in this network are running homogeneous dynamical models. The sufficient and necessary condition for the observability of the whole system is given with detailed proof. By local information and measurement communication, we design a novel distributed suboptimal estimator based on the Kalman filtering technique for comparison with a centralized optimal estimator. We present sufficient conditions for its convergence with respect to the topology of the network and the numerical solutions of n linear matrix inequality（LMI） equations combining system parameters. Finally, we perform several numerical simulations to verify the effectiveness of the given algorithms.

Controllability analysis of second-order multi-agent systems with directed and weighted interconnection

This article investigates the controllability problem of multi-agent systems. Each agent is assumed to be governed by a second-order consensus control law corresponding to a directed and weighted graph. Two types of topology are considered. The first is concerned with directed trees, which represent the class of topology with minimum information exchange among all controllable topologies. A very simple necessary and sufficient condition regarding the weighting scheme is obtained for the controllability of double integrator multi-agent systems in this scenario. The second is concerned with a more general graph that can be reduced to a directed tree by contracting a cluster of nodes to a component. A similar necessary and sufficient condition is derived. Finally, several illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the theoretical analysis results.

Estimating the total allowable catch and management of Threadfin porgy(Evynnis cardinalis)fisheries in the northern South China Sea based on sampling surveys conducted at fishing ports

In order to develop a method that apply sampling survey data randomly obtained at fishing ports to fish stock assessments,based on fish landing surveys conducted at fishing ports in the northern South China Sea(SCS),19 Threadfin porgy(Evynnis cardinalis)catch per unit effort(CPUE)datasets were collected for fishing vessels with different gear types and engine powers and incorporated into surplus production *** only the fitting performance,the Schaefer model had the best overall goodness of fit,followed by the Fox,CYP,W-H,and Schnute *** fishing vessels with different gears and engine powers,the data were best fitted for single-trawl vessels powered by 301-400-kW engines and for gillnet vessels powered by>200-kW *** model expressions were superior and selected for subsequent analyses based on their goodness of fit and relative *** Kobe plot analysis results showed an optimistic fish stock status when using the four model expressions,required more caution when using three model expressions and output pessimistic estimations using one model *** the incomplete information acquired,a compromising decision-making method was used to derive a 2017 northern SCS *** total allowed catch(TAC)of 44,691.21 *** different conclusions drawn from estimations using CPUEs reflect variable exploitation and utilization fish stock statuses among fishing vessels with different gears and engine ***,the fishing operations were grouped according to their CPUE relationship,and recommendations regarding optimum fishing efforts were assigned to the groups following a fundamental principle:to improve fishery TAC management,fishing efforts should be reduced if the fish stock assessment is pessimistic and maintained if the assessment is *** study providing a feasible technical method for the TAC management of China’s offshore fisheries.

The strength and thermal conductivity of compacted graphite iron(CGI)are crucial performance indicators in its engineering *** presence of graphite in CGI significantly influences the two *** the previous studies,graphite in CGI was often described using two-dimensional(2D)*** this study,the three-dimensional(3D)size,shape,and distribution of graphite in CGI were analyzed using X-ray *** on this,a new method is introduced to calculate the 3D vermicularity and compare it with the 2D vermicularity in terms of tensile properties and thermal *** results demonstrate that vermicular graphite exhibits greater connectivity in 3D observation compared to 2D ***,the calculation method of 3D vermicularity is determined by considering the surface area and volume of the connected *** a linear relationship between 3 and 2D vermicularity has been *** comparing the correlation coefficient,it has been found that the 3D vermicularity offers a more accurate method to establish the relationship among graphite morphology,thermal conductivity and tensile property of CGI.

Growth, Gas Exchange, Abscisic Acid, and Calmodulin Response to Salt Stress in Three Poplars

In the present study, we Investigated the effects of Increaslng sallnlty on growth, gas exchange, absclslc acld （ABA）, calmodulln （CAM）, and the relevance to salt tolerance In seedllngs of Populus euphratlca Ollv. and cutUngs of P. ＂pupularls 35-44＂（P. popularls） and P. x euramerlcana cv. 1-214 （P. cv. Itallca）. The relatlve growth rates of shoot helght （RGR,） for P. cv. Itallca and P. popularls were severely reduced by Increaslng salt stress, whereas the growth reductlon was relatlvely less in P. euphratica. Slmllarly, P. euphratlca malntalned hlgher net photosynthetlc rates （Pn） and unlt transplration rotes （TRN） than P. cv. Itallca and P. popularls under condltlons of hlgher sallnlty. Sallnity caused a slgnlficant increase In leaf ABA and CaM In the three genotypes after the onset of stress, but NaCl-induced ABA and CaM accumulatlon was more pronounced In P. euphratlca, suggeeUng that P. euphratlca plants are more sensitlve in sensing soil salinlty than the other two poplars. Furthermore, P. euphratica maintained relatively higher ABA and CaM concentrations under conditions of high salinity. The higher capacity to synthesize stress signals, namely ABA and CaM, In P. euphratica and the contrlbuUon of this to the salt resistance of P. euphratica are discussed.

Dear Editor,This letter focuses on the distributed optimal containment control of continuous-time multi-agent systems(CTMASs)with respect to the minimum-energy performance index over fixed *** achieve this,we firstly investigate the optimal containment control problem using the inverse optimal control method,where all states of followers asymptotically converge to the convex hull spanned by the leaders while some quadratic performance indexes get minimized.A sufficient condition for existence of the distributed optimal containment control protocol is *** introducing the parametric algebraic Riccati equation(PARE),it is strictly proved that the global performance index can be used to approximate the standard minimumenergy performance index as the parameters tends to *** consequence,the standard minimum-energy cooperative containment control can be solved by local steady state feedback protocols.
