Mutual regulation of microglia and astrocytes after Gas6 inhibits spinal cord injury

Invasive inflammation and excessive scar formation are the main reasons for the difficulty in repairing nervous tissue after spinal cord *** and astrocytes play key roles in the spinal cord injury micro-environment and share a close ***,the mechanisms involved remain *** this study,we found that after spinal cord injury,resting microglia(M0)were polarized into pro-inflammatory phenotypes(MG1 and MG3),while resting astrocytes were polarized into reactive and scar-forming *** expression of growth arrest-specific 6(Gas6)and its receptor Axl were significantly down-regulated in microglia and astrocytes after spinal cord *** vitro experiments showed that Gas6 had negative effects on the polarization of reactive astrocytes and pro-inflammatory microglia,and even inhibited the cross-regulation between *** further demonstrated that Gas6 can inhibit the polarization of reactive astrocytes by suppressing the activation of the Yes-associated protein signaling ***,in turn,inhibited the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia by suppressing the activation of the nuclear factor-κB/p65 and Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription signaling *** vivo experiments showed that Gas6 inhibited the polarization of pro-inflammatory microglia and reactive astrocytes in the injured spinal cord,thereby promoting tissue repair and motor function ***,Gas6 may play a role in the treatment of spinal cord *** can inhibit the inflammatory pathway of microglia and polarization of astrocytes,attenuate the interaction between microglia and astrocytes in the inflammatory microenvironment,and thereby alleviate local inflammation and reduce scar formation in the spinal cord.

It has been shown clinically that continuous removal of ischemia/reperfusion-induced reactive oxygen species is not conducive to the recovery of late ***,previous studies have shown that excessive increases in hypochlorous acid after stroke can cause severe damage to brain *** previous studies have found that a small amount of hypochlorous acid still exists in the later stage of stroke,but its specific role and mechanism are currently *** simulate stroke in vivo,a middle cerebral artery occlusion rat model was established,with an oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation model established in vitro to mimic *** found that in the early stage(within 24 hours)of ischemic stroke,neutrophils produced a large amount of hypochlorous acid,while in the recovery phase(10 days after stroke),microglia were activated and produced a small amount of hypochlorous ***,in acute stroke in rats,hypochlorous acid production was prevented using a hypochlorous acid scavenger,taurine,or myeloperoxidase inhibitor,4-aminobenzoic acid *** results showed that high levels of hypochlorous acid(200μM)induced neuronal apoptosis after oxygen/glucose deprivation/***,in the recovery phase of the middle cerebral artery occlusion model,a moderate level of hypochlorous acid promoted the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells into neurons and *** suggests that hypochlorous acid plays different roles at different phases of cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** levels of hypochlorous acid(5 and 100μM)promoted nuclear translocation ofβ-*** transfection of single-site mutation plasmids,we found that hypochlorous acid induced chlorination of theβ-catenin tyrosine 30 residue,which promoted nuclear ***,our study indicates that maintaining low levels of hypochlorous acid plays a key role in the recovery of neurological function.

In this paper,in order to reduce the energy leakage caused by the discretized representation in sparse channel estimation for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) systems,we systematically have analyzed the optimal locations of atoms with discrete delays for each path reconstruction from the perspective of linear fitting ***,we have investigated the adverse effects of the non-ideal inner product function on the iteration in one of the most widely used channel estimation method,Orthogonal Matching Pursuit(OMP).The study shows that the distance between the selected atoms for each path in OMP can be larger than the sampling interval,which prevents OMP-based methods from achieving better *** overcome this drawback,the image deblurring-based channel estimation method,in which the channel estimation problem is analogized to one-dimensional image deblurring,was proposed to improve the large compensation distance of traditional *** advantage of the proposed method was validated by the results of numerical simulation and sea trial data decoding.

The infiltration casting fabrication process based on spherical CaCl_(2) space-holders and the compressive behavior including the mechanical performance and energy absorption capacity of open-cell aluminum foams were ***-cell aluminum foams with different porosities in the range of 63.1%to 87.3%can be fabricated by adjusting compression ratios of CaCl_(2) preforms prepared by precision *** compression tests show that a strain-hardening phenomenon always occurs especially for open-cell aluminum foam with low porosity,resulting in the inclining stress-strain curve in the plateau *** energy absorption capacity of open-cell aluminum foam decreases with increasing porosity when compared at the same ***,when compared at a given stress,each foam can absorb the maximal energy among the five foams in a special stress ***,open-cell aluminum foam possesses the maximum energy absorption efficiency at its optimum operating *** this stress condition,the foam can absorb the highest energy compared with other foams at the same stress *** optimum operating stress and the corresponding maximal energy absorption decrease with increasing the *** optimum operating stress for energy absorption can also be determined similarly when taking into consideration of the lightweight extent of foams.

The responses of soil microbes to global warming and nitrogen enrichment can profoundly affect terrestrial ecosystem functions and the ecosystem feedbacks to climate ***,the interactive effect of warming and nitrogen enrichment on soil microbial community is *** this study,individual and interactive effects of experimental warming and nitrogen addition on the soil microbial community were investigated in a long-term field experiment in a temperate steppe of northern *** field experiment started in 2006 and soils were sampled in 2010 and analyzed for phospholipid fatty acids to characterize the soil microbial *** soil chemical properties were also ***-year experimental warming significantly increased soil total microbial biomass and the proportion of Gram-negative bacteria in the ***-term nitrogen addition decreased soil microbial biomass at the 0-10 cm soil depth and the relative abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the *** interactive effect on soil microbes was detected when experimental warming and nitrogen addition were *** microbial biomass positively correlated with soil total C and N,but basically did not relate to the soil C/N ratio and *** results suggest that future global warming or nitrogen enrichment may significantly change the soil microbial communities in the temperate steppes in northern China.

For the multi-mode radar working in the modern electronicbattlefield, different working states of one single radar areprone to being classified as multiple emitters when adoptingtraditional classification methods to process intercepted signals,which has a negative effect on signal classification. A classificationmethod based on spatial data mining is presented to address theabove challenge. Inspired by the idea of spatial data mining, theclassification method applies nuclear field to depicting the distributioninformation of pulse samples in feature space, and digs out thehidden cluster information by analyzing distribution *** addition, a membership-degree criterion to quantify the correlationamong all classes is established, which ensures classificationaccuracy of signal samples. Numerical experiments show that thepresented method can effectively prevent different working statesof multi-mode emitter from being classified as several emitters,and achieve higher classification accuracy.

The numerical simulation of the self-propelled motion of a fish with a pair of rigid pectoral fins is presented.A Navier-Stokes equation solver incorporating with the multi-block and overset grid method is developed to deal with the multi-body and moving body *** lift-based swimming mode is selected for the fin *** the lift-based swimming mode,the fin can generate great thrust and at the same time have no generation of lift *** can be found when a pair of rigid pectoral fins generates the hydrodynamic moment,it may also generate a lateral force opposite to the centripetal direction,which has adverse effect on the turn motion of the ***,the periodic vortex structure generation and shedding,and their effects on the generation of hydrodynamic force are also demonstrated in this article.

A space experiment on bubble behavior and heat transfer in subcooled pool boiling phenomenon has been performedutilizing the temperature-controlled pool boiling (TCPB) device both in normal gravity in the laboratoryand in microgravity aboard the 22^(nd) Chinese recoverable satellite. The fluid is degassed R113 at 0.1 MPa andsubcooled by 26℃ nominally. A thin platinum wire of 60 μm in diameter and 30 mm in length is simultaneouslyused as heater and thermometer. Only the dynamics of the vapor bubbles, particularly the lateral motion and thedeparture of discrete vapor bubbles in nucleate pool boiling are reported and analyzed in the present paper. It'sfound that these distinct behaviors can be explained by the Marangoni convection in the liquid surrounding vaporbubbles. The origin of the Marangoni effect is also discussed.
