In this study,polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)–ionic liquid(IL) membranes were prepared for the separation of isopropyl alcohol(IPA)–water azeotropic mixtures by ***-IL composite membranes were prepared by simple solvent evaporation method using four ILs,viz.,1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(bMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(HMIMCl),1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetra fluoroborate(HMIMbF4) and 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride(OMIMCl).Three ILs were used to study the effect of alkyl chain on the pervaporation *** study had focused on the effect feed water concentration from 10%–40%and effect of feed temperature from 50–80°*** properties of all the membranes were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and contact angle *** Arrhenius activation energies for permeation were estimated to be in the range 4–12 kJ·mol-1 from the temperature dependent permeation values.

Evaluation of Human Impacts on bartlett Pond Ecosystem, Laredo, Southern Texas, USA, through Empirical Modeling

The trace elements chemistry of bartlett Pond, a small shallow wetland pond in Laredo, Southern Texas, was sampled to evaluate the dynamics of trace elements impacts on water quality and ecosystems ecology of the pond. Two types of fish (bass and tilapia) were also sampled to see the trace element accumulation in different parts of their body. The concentrations of trace elements in water samples were found in the following order: Fe ≫Sb > Pb > As ≫Co > Tl > Cr > Cd within bartlett Pond. Overall, the water quality of the pond is unacceptable for drinking and any other purposes as trace element concentrations (e.g. As, Cd, Co, Cr, Pb, Fe, Sb and Tl) are exceedingly higher (several fold) than the WHO and US EPA guidelines. Predictive and correlation analysis shows that most trace elements exhibit a strong positive correlation among them indicating the same anthropogenic sources and biogeochemical processes regulate these trace elements within the pond. Distributions of the trace elements in water exhibit different shapes mostly as positively skewed distribution for As, Cd, Co, Cr, and Tl, symmetrical distribution for Fe and almost symmetrical distribution for Pb and Sb. Concentrations of As, Co and Tl accumulated much higher in different parts of the bass than Tilapia fish. The concentrations of As, Tl, Co, and Sb appeared significantly higher in different parts of the body of both bass and Tilapia than the maximum SRM certified values. Accumulation of these contaminants in fish tissues pose increased health risks to humans who consume these contaminated fish although fishing is prohibited. Anthropogenic activities in the region primarily degrade the whole pond ecosystem ecology of the bartlett Pond and waters of this pond to be not recommended for any use. These findings may be useful for the scientific community and concerned authorities to improve understanding about these precious natural resources and conservation of the ecosystem ecology.

background:Classic dichotic listening tests using speech stimuli result in right ear advantage,due to the dominant crossed pathway for speech and *** is presumed that similar crossed dominance could exist for non-speech stimuli ***,this is an attempt to develop and validate the dichotic nonspeech test using environmental stimuli and explore the effect of focused attention on this *** and method:Three lists of dichotic stimuli were created using these sounds with fifteen tokens in each *** professionals and non-professionals validated these *** estimation was obtained by administering the newly developed test on 70 adults and 70 children using a free-recall and forced-recall ***:The results showed a significant difference between the left ear and right scores where the left ear score was better than the right,depicting left ear advantage(LEA)for free recall condition in both *** the forced recall condition,LEA was not seen;rather the mean score was significantly higher in the attended ear,irrespective of the stimuli presented to the right or left *** test-retest reliability in free recall was good in both the ears and moderate for forced right ear ***:The novel test consistently showed LEA with good reliability and can be used to assess the hemispheric asymmetry in normal subjects and also in test batteries for the clinical population.

This paper applies a cumulant-based analytical method for probabilistic load flow (PLF) assessment in transmission and distribution systems. The uncertainties pertaining to photovoltaic generations and aggregate bus load powers are probabilistically modeled in the case of transmission systems. In the case of distribution systems, the uncertainties pertaining to plug-in hybrid electric vehicle and battery electric vehicle charging demands in residential community as well as charging stations are probabilistically modeled. The probability distributions of the result variables (bus voltages and branch power flows) pertaining to these inputs are accurately established. The multiple input correlation cases are incorporated. Simultaneously, the performance of the proposed method is demonstrated on a modified Ward-Hale 6-bus system and an IEEE 14-bus transmission system as well as on a modified IEEE 69-bus radial and an IEEE 33-bus mesh distribution system. The results of the proposed method are compared with that of Monte-Carlo simulation.

In this paper we analyzed the effects of space and temperature dependent intemal heat generation/absorption （non-uniform heat source/sink） on magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow of water based nanofluid over a stretching sheet with different nanoparticles. The flow is generated due to linear stretching of the sheet and influenced by uniform magnetic field, which is applied normally to the stretching sheet. A scaling group of transformation is used to reduce the governing momentum and energy equations into non-linear ordinary differential equations. The resulting differential equations are solved analytically using hypergeometric functions and numerically by the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. The influence of nanoparticle volume fraction, magnetic field, Prandtl number, non uniform heat source/sink, local skin friction coefficient and reduced Nusselt number are investigated for different nanoparticles.

The wastewater discharged from tanneries lack biodegradability due to the presence of recalcitrant compounds at significant concentration. The focal theme of the present investigation was to use chemo-autotrophic activated carbon oxidation(CAACO) reactor, an immobilized cell reactor using chemoautotrophs for the treatment of tannery wastewater. The treatment scheme comprised of anaerobic treatment, sand filtration, and CAACO reactor, which remove COD, bOD, TOC, VFA and sulphides respectively by 86%, 95%, 81%, 71% and 100%. Rice bran mesoporous activated carbon prepared indigenously and was used for immobilization of chemoautotrophs. The degradation of xenobiotic compounds by CAACO was confirmed through HPLC and FT-IR techniques.

In this paper, a typical 3-degree of freedom （3- DOF） translational parallel kinematic machine （PKM） is studied and analyzed whose tool platform has only translations along X-, Y- and Z-axes. It consists of three limbs, each of which have arm and forearm with prismatic- revolute-revolute-revolute （PRRR）joints. Inverse kine- matics analysis is carried out to find the slider coordinates and joint angles for a given position of tool platform. Stiffness modeling is done based on the compliance matrices of arm and forearm of each limb. Using the stiffness modeling the variations of minimum and max- imum translational stiffness in the workspaee are analyzed. For various architectural parameters of the 3-DOF PKM the tendency of variations on the minimum and maximum stiffness over the entire workspace is studied; and also the deflections of the tool platform along X, Y, and Z directions with respect to various forces are presented.

In this paper, error modeling and analysis of a typical 3-degree of freedom translational Parallel Kine- matic Machine is presented. This mechanism provides translational motion along the Cartesian X-, Y- and Z- axes. It consists of three limbs each having an arm and forearm with prismatic-revolute-revolute-revolute joints. The moving or tool platform maintains same orientation in the entire workspace due to its joint arrangement. From inverse kinematics, the joint angles for a given position of tool platform necessary for the error modeling and analysis are obtained. Error modeling is done based on the differentiation of the inverse kinematic equations. Variation of pose errors along X, Y and Z directions for a set of dimensions of the parallel kinematic machine is presented. A non-dimensional performance index, namely, global error transformation index is used to study the influence of dimensions and its corresponding global maximum pose error is reported. An attempt is made to find the optimal dimensions of the Parallel Kinematic Machine using Genetic Algorithms in MATLAb. The methodology presented and the results obtained are useful for predicting the performance capability of the Parallel Kinematic Machine under study.

This paper presents the rigorous study of mobile robot navigation techniques used so *** step by step investigations of classical and reactive approaches are made here to understand the development of path planning strategies in various environmental conditions and to identify research *** classical approaches such as cell decomposition(CD),roadmap approach(RA),artificial potential field(APF);reactive approaches such as genetic algorithm(GA),fuzzy logic(FL),neural network(NN),firefly algorithm(FA),particle swarm optimization(PSO),ant colony optimization(ACO),bacterial foraging optimization(bFO),artificial bee colony(AbC),cuckoo search(CS),shuffled frog leaping algorithm(SFLA)and other miscellaneous algorithms(OMA)are considered for *** navigation over static and dynamic condition is analyzed(for single and multiple robot systems)and it has been observed that the reactive approaches are more robust and perform well in all terrain when compared to classical *** is also observed that the reactive approaches are used to improve the performance of the classical approaches as a hybrid ***,reactive approaches are more popular and widely used for path planning of mobile *** paper concludes with tabular data and charts comparing the frequency of individual navigational strategies which can be used for specific application in robotics.
