Increasing global water shortages are accelerating the pace of membrane manufacturing,which generates many environmentally harmful *** challenges need a radical rethink of developing innovative membranes that can address freshwater production without generating environmentally harmful *** work utilized the synthesized ultra-long hydroxyapatite(UHA)by the solvothermal method using the green solvent oleic acid in preparing UHA-based forward osmosis *** membranes were developed using different loading ratios of graphene oxide(GO)by vacuum-assisted filtration *** prepared GO/UHA membranes were identified using X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron *** contact angle and pore size distribution were determined for the obtained GO/UHA *** obtained hierarchical porous structure in the prepared membranes with interconnected channels results in a stable water flux with reverse salt *** best water flux rate of 42±2 L·m^(–2)·h^(–1)was achieved using the 50 mg GO/UHA membrane,which is 3.3 times higher than the pristine membrane,and a reverse salt flux of 67 g·m^(-2)·h^(–1).The obtained results showed a promising capability of a new generation of sustainable inorganic-based membranes that can be utilized in freshwater generation by energy-efficient techniques such as forward osmosis.

Depending on double compound synchronization and compound combination synchronization, a new kind of syn- chronization is introduced which is the double compound combination synchronization （DCCS） of eight n-dimensional chaotic systems. This kind may be considered as a generalization of many types of synchronization. In the communica- tion, based on many of drive and response systems, the transmitted and received signals will be more secure. Using the Lyapunov stability theory and nonlinear feedback control, analytical formulas of control functions are obtained to insure our results. The corresponding analytical expression and numerical treatment are used to show the validity and feasibility of our proposed synchronization scheme. The eight memristor-based Chua oscillators are considered as an example. Other examples can be similarly investigated. The proposed synchronization technique is supported using the MATLAB simula- tion outcomes. We obtain the same results of numerical treatment of our synchronization using simulation observations of our example.

The formula for the analytical calculations of the shaped charge jetting parameters exhibit an explicit dependence upon the Gurney velocity of an explosive *** attempts have been done to approximate the characteristic constant 2E^(1/2) and to make its use more *** is shown herein that the characteristic Gurney velocity parameter depends on the ratio of the Chapman Jouguet-pressure to explosive impulse ratio by the formula:2E^(1/2)=0.2415(P_(CJ)/I_(SP)ρ_0)-970.76,where PCJis the Chapman Jouguet pressure(Pa),ISPis the specific impulse of the explosive used as a monopropellant(N·s/kg)andρois the explosive density(kg/m^3).The proposed empirical formula was found to be reasonable and quite accurate approximation that can be implemented over a wide range of explosives,where the maximum deviation between the measured and the calculated Gurney velocities was nearly 6%.Besides,the proposed approach has been used analytically to calculate the jet tip velocity of a small caliber shaped charge,which is measured *** difference between the measured and the calculated jet tip velocity was only 1.6%.

3-Bromopyruvate(3BP) is a new, promising anticancer alkylating agent with several notable functions. In addition to inhibiting key glycolysis enzymes including hexokinase II and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), 3BP also selectively inhibits mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, angiogenesis, and energy production in cancer cells. Moreover, 3BP induces hydrogen peroxide generation in cancer cells(oxidative stress effect) and competes with the LDH substrates pyruvate and lactate. There is only one published human clinical study showing that 3BP was effective in treating fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. LDH is a good measure for tumor evaluation and predicts the outcome of treatment better than the presence of a residual tumor mass. According to the Warburg effect, LDH is responsible for lactate synthesis, which facilitates cancer cell survival, progression, aggressiveness, metastasis, and angiogenesis. Lactate produced through LDH activity fuels aerobic cell populations inside tumors via metabolic symbiosis. In melanoma, the most deadly skin cancer, 3BP induced necrotic cell death in sensitive cells, whereas high glutathione(GSH) content made other melanoma cells resistant to 3BP. Concurrent use of a GSH depletor with 3BP killed resistant melanoma cells. Survival of melanoma patients was inversely associated with high serum LDH levels, which was reported to be highly predictive of melanoma treatment in randomized clinical trials. Here, we report a 28-year-old man presented with stage IV metastatic melanoma affecting the back, left pleura, and lung. The disease caused total destruction of the left lung and a high serum LDH level(4,283 U/L). After ethics committee approval and written patient consent, the patient received 3BP intravenous infusions(1-2.2 mg/kg), but the anticancer effect was minimal as indicated by a high serum LDH level. Currently, relational database management systems (RDBMSs)face different challenges in application development due to the massive growthof unstructured and semi-structured data. This introduced new DBMS categories, known as not only structured query language (NoSQL) DBMSs, whichdo not adhere to the relational model. The migration from relational databasesto NoSQL databases is challenging due to the data complexity. This study aimsto enhance the storage performance of RDBMSs in handling a variety of *** paper presents two approaches. The first approach proposes a convenientrepresentation of unstructured data storage. Several extensive experimentswere implemented to assess the efficiency of this approach that could resultin substantial improvements in the RDBMSs storage. The second approachproposes using the JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) format to representmultivalued attributes and many to many (M:N) relationships in relationaldatabases to create a flexible schema and store semi-structured data. Theresults indicate that the proposed approaches outperform similar approachesand improve data storage performance, which helps preserve software stabilityin huge organizations by improving existing software packages whose replacement may be highly costly.

First Cycle Neutrophil Count and Subsequent Chemotherapy Dose Delivery in Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Adjuvant Chemotherapy

Background: Chemotherapy-induced neutropenia is a major dose-limiting toxicity of systemic cancer chemotherapy, and it is associated with substantial morbidity, mortality, and costs. The ability to predict the group of patients who are at high risk for neutropenic complications might help to reduce the morbidity due to febrile neutropenia and increase the likelihood of delivering full chemotherapy dose on time. In addition, hematopoietic growth factors could be administered to patients who need them and allow more efficient use of medical resources. Methods: The study included 120 female patients with breast cancer, treated in adjuvant setting with FAC chemotherapy regimen. Chemotherapy was delayed if the ANC was less than 1500 cells/μL on the planned first day of the cycle. Dose delays would be for 1 week. The chemotherapy dose was reduced if the patient experienced an episode of febrile neutropenia. Dose reductions usually consist of a 20% reduction in dosage of all chemotherapy drugs. Results: Out of the 120 patients in the study, 58 patients experienced neutropenic complications (febrile neutropenia or dose delayed) accounting for 48.3% of total sample size. In univariate analysis, there was statistically significant association between first cycle ANC nadir and neutropenic complication (p = 0.0001). There was also statistically significant association between pretreatment first cycle ANC (p = 0.001), pretreatment platelets count (p = 0.054), first cycle platelets count nadir (p = 0.041), number of involved lymph nodes (p = 0.031) and the occurrence of varies neutropenic complications. However, in multivariate analysis, ANC nadir was only the independent risk factor for occurrence of neutropenic. Conclusions: The first cycle absolute neutrophil counts nadir provides useful information on the risk of future neutropenia, febrile neutropenia and dose delay or reduction with estimated sensitivity and specificity, which were 64.5% and 77.6%, respectively. The ability of any steganography system to correctly retrieve the secret message is the primary criterion for measuring its ***,researchers have tried to generate a new natural image driven from only the secret message bits rather than using a cover to embed the secret message within it;this is called the stego *** paper proposes a new secured coverless steganography system using a generative mathematical model based on semi Quick Response(QR)code and maze game image *** system consists of two *** first component contains two processes,encryption process,and hiding *** encryption process encrypts secret message bits in the form of a semi-QR code image whereas the hiding process conceals the pregenerated semi-QR code in the generated maze game *** the other hand,the second component contains two processes,extraction and decryption,which are responsible for extracting the semi-QR code from the maze game image and then retrieving the original secret message from the extracted semi-QR code image,*** results were obtained using the bit error rate(BER)*** results confirmed that the system achieved high hiding capacity,good performance,and a high level of robustness against attackers compared with other coverless steganography methods.

Objective To explore if the addition of adjuvant chemotherapy with paclitaxel and carboplatin to radiotherapy confers an advantage for overall survival （OAS）, and progression free survival （PFS）; to assess the incidence of relapses over standard pelvic radiotherapy; and to evaluate the related toxicity in high-risk stage I-II endometrial carcinoma Methods Medical records were reviewed to identify high-risk stage I-1I endometrial carcinoma cases treated in the Clinical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine department between 2002 and 2008 with adjuvant radiotherapy alone （arm Ⅰ）（57 patients） or with sequential carboplatin （AUCS-6） and paclitaxel （135-175 mg/m^2） with radiotherapy （arm Ⅱ）（51 patients）. Radiotherapy was performed through the four-field box technique at doses of 45-50 Gy （1.8 Gy/day × 5 days/week）. Results The toxicity was manageable and predominantly hematologic with a grade 3 neutropenia and thrombocytopenia in 9.8% and 6% of the patients in arm Ⅰ and arm Ⅱ, respectively, without febrile neutropenia. All patients experienced hair loss. Chernoradiotherapy arm was associated with a lower incidence rate of relapse （9.8% vs. 22.7%）. After a median follow-up period of 48 months, the 5-year OAS and PFS rates for chemoradiotherapy-treated patients were significantly more favorable than those who did not receive chemotherapy （P=0.02 and 0.03, respectively）. In arm I, the OAS and PFS rates were 73.7% and 66.7% compared with those in arm II, whose rates were 90.2% and 84.3%. Conclusions Adjuvant chemoradiation with paclitaxel and carboplatin improved the survival rates and decreased the recurrence rates in patients with high-risk stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ endometrial carcinoma. Chemotherapy was associated with an acceptable rate of toxicity. However, a prospective study with a larger number of patients is needed to define a standard adjuvant treatment for high-risk stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ endometrial carcinoma.

Investigation of climate change impacts on food security has become a global hot *** so,efforts to mitigate these issues in arid regions have been ***,in this paper,further research is discussed based on data obtained from various crop and climate *** DSSATcrop models(CMs)(CERESWheat and N-Wheat)were calibrated with two wheat cultivars(Gemiza9 and Misr1).A baseline simulation(1981-2010)was compared with different scenarios of simulations using three Global Climate Models(GCMs)for the 2030s,2050s and *** impacts of climate change were assessed using the GCMs and CMs under the high emission Representative Concentration Pathway(RCP8.5).Results predicted decreased wheat grain yields by a mean of 8.7%,11.4%and 13.2%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,relative to the baseline *** impacts of climatic change are probable,despite some uncertainties within the GCMs(i.e.,2.1%,5.0%and 8.0%)and CMs(i.e.,2.2%,6.0%and 9.2%).Changing the planting date with a scenario of plus or minus 5 or 10 days from the common practice was assessed as a potentially effective adaptation option,which may partially offset the negative impacts of climate *** the sowing date by 10 days(from 20 November to 30 November)proved the optimum scenario and decreased further reduction in wheat yields resulting from climate change to 5.2%,6.8%and 8.5%in the 2030s,2050s and 2080s,respectively,compared with the 20 November *** planting 5-days earlier scenario showed a decreased impact on climate change ***,the 10-days early planting scenario increased yield reduction under projected climate *** cultivar Misr1 was more resistant to rising temperature than *** the negative impacts of projected climate change on wheat production,water use efficiency would slightly *** ensemble of multi-model estimated impacts and adaptation uncertainties of climate change can assist decision-makers in planning clima
