The Cum.lative Effects of Sewage Sludge Com.ost on Raphanus sativus L: Growth and Soil Properties

The m.in goal of this research study was to establish the physicochem.cal characteristics of sewage sludge, and the nutrients needed to enhance the properties of soil with a view to exploiting were potential for agriculture. The exam.le used was the cultivation of radish (Raphanus sativus). The findings are intended as a contribution towards m.king agriculture sustainable. This study was carried out to assess the response of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) to doses of sewage sludge applied in m.dium.texture soils, and the socioeconom.c contributions that such cultivation of radish would m.ke. Levels of 0.25 and 75 ton/ha of sewage sludge plus the equivalent dose of 25 ton/ha of sewage sludge verm.n com.ost by California Red were used after m.king a random.zed experim.ntal design with three replicates. 30 days after sowing radish seeds, the following data were collected: the num.er of leaves per plant (NLP);plant height (PH in cm.;root diam.ter (RD) and tubercle production (TP ton/ha). In addition, the pH, EC-electric conductivity (EC), and soil organic m.tter (SOm. were determ.ned. Statistical analysis showed that 25 and 50 tons/ha gave the best results for the param.ters assessed. The estim.ted increase in fam.ly m.an incom. from.selling radish crops fertilized with sewage sludge is around 17%.

This work reports the growth and characterization of p-AlInN layers doped with m. by plasm.-assisted m.lecular beam.epitaxy(PAm.E).AlInN was grown with an Al m.lar fraction of 0.80 by m.tal-m.dulated epitaxy(m.E)with a thickness of 180 nm.on Si(111)substrates using AlN as buffer *** substrate tem.eratures were used to enhance the incorporation of indium.atom. into the alloy without clustering,as confirm.d by X-ray diffraction(XRD).Cathodolum.nescence m.asurem.nts revealed ultraviolet(UV)range ***,Hall effect m.asurem.nts indicated a m.xim.m.hole m.bility of 146 cm.(2)/(V∙s),corresponding to a free hole concentration of 1.23×10^(19)cm.(−3).The sam.les were analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)estim.ting the alloy com.osition and extracting the Ferm. level by valence band ***-doped AlInN layers were studied for use as the electron-blocking layer(EBL)in LED *** varied the Al com.osition in the EBL from.0.84 to 0.96 m.lar fraction to assess its theoretical effects on electrolum.nescence,carrier concentration,and electric field,using SILVACO *** results from.this study highlight the im.ortance and capability of producing high-quality m.-doped p-AlInN layers through *** sim.lations suggest that an Al content of 0.86 is optim.l for achieving desired outcom.s in electrolum.nescence,carrier concentration,and electric field.

Altitude as environm.ntal filtering influencing phylogenetic diversity and species richness of plants in tropical m.untains

Elucidating how m.ltiple factors affect biodiversity and plant com.unity assem.ly is a central issue in ecology,especially in vulnerable ecosystem. such as tropical *** studies are m.re relevant in global warm.ng scenarios that induce the upward displacem.nt of plant species towards reduced habitats and hostile environm.nts in tropical *** study aim.d to analyze how altitude affects taxonom.c and phylogenetic diversity in plant com.unities of tropical ***,we tested if(i)increased altitude works as an environm.ntal filtering prom.ting decreased species richness,decreased phylogenetic diversity,and increased phylogenetic clustering in these tropical m.untains;and if(ii)plant com.unities of high altitude in tropical m.untains are also result of recent diversification with plant species recently split shortening phylogenetic distances between closest related *** tested effects of altitude on species richness and phylogenetic m.trics using linear m.xed-effects *** Haleakala presented 114 species,m.unt Kilim.njaro presented 231 species and m.unt Purace presented 280 *** found an environm.ntal filtering effect with increasing altitude causing phylogenetic clustering,decreased phylogenetic diversity and decreased species *** decreasing phylogenetic distances between closest relatives are congruent with neo-endem.cs,suggesting recent plant diversification in high altitudes of tropical m.untains,possibly driven by geographic isolation and environm.ntal *** of global warm.ng should be m.nitored in tropical m.untains focusing on distribution shifts.

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are prom.sing m.terials for therm.m.ters based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)em.ssion,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(sam.les doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 m.l%,0.5 m.l%,2.0 m.l%,and 4.0 m.l%)in fluorescence therm.m.ters,in the tem.erature range from.299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the FIR param.ters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the em.ssion band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)em.ssions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)F_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)F_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for sam.les doped with higher am.unts of Nd^(3+).The m.xim.m.relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value am.ng the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

The relationships between clim.te conditions and wood density in tropical forests are still poorly *** quantify spatial dependence of wood density in the state of m.nas Gerais(m.,Brazil),m.p spatial distribution of density,and correlate density with clim.te variables,we extracted data from.the Forest Inventory of m.nas Gerais for 1988 trees scaled throughout the territory and m.asured wood density of discs rem.ved from.the *** variables were extracted from.the database of the Ecological-Econom.c Zoning of m.nas *** spatial analysis,tree densities were m.asured at 44 georeferenced sam.ling *** data were subjected to exploratory analysis,variography,cross-validation,m.del selection,and ordinary *** relationships between wood density and environm.ntal variables were calculated using dispersion m.trices,linear correlation,and *** density proved to be highly spatially dependent,reaching a correlation of 96%,and was highly continuous over a distance of 228 *** distribution of wood density followed a continuous gradient of 514-659 kg m.(−3),enabling corre-lation with environm.nt *** was correlated with m.an annual precipitation(−0.57),tem.erature(0.63),and evapotranspiration(0.83).Geostatistical m.thods proved useful in predicting wood density in native tropical forests with different clim.te *** results confirm.d the sensitivity of wood density to clim.te change,which could affect future carbon stock in forests.
