The objectives of the present study were to determine the effects of the brewing method on the amount of the major catechins, methylxanthines, total polyphenols and antioxidant capacity in green and black teas, and to correlate the chemical composition of tea infusions to their sensorial properties by the combined use of the electronic nose and tongue. For this purpose, tea infusions were prepared from 7 green teas and 6 black teas using different extraction times (3 - 5 and 10 min). The extraction of total polyphenols and catechins was increased by prolonging the infusion time from 3 - 5 to 10 min, while the caffeine amounts did not increase. The antioxidant activity of teas was well correlated with polyphenol content. Electronic tongue and electronic nose were able to discriminate green teas from black teas on the basis of their sensorial properties. Considering the taste, green teas were characterized by astringency and aftertaste-astringency and this sensation was increased by prolonging the infusion time;black teas were perceived as more bitter, sour, salty and the extraction time affected the astringent sensation. The aroma of green and black teas was discriminated by specific sensors and the increase of the extraction time produced more richly flavoured infusions. This work adds information about correlation between sensorial properties, antioxidant capacity and chemical composition of green and black teas.

The aim of this paper is to investigate how the corporate characteristics and contextual factors influence the choice of managers in initiating the sustainability report/reporting （SR） and to understand the role of organisational dynamics. The research design develops through a deductive and inductive approach. The deductive approach is based on an analysis of the Social and Environmental Accounting Research （SEAR） strands which use the theoretical framework of （neo-） institutional theory to inquire the adoption and diffusion of SR. The inductive method is based on a research case that focuses on the SGR Group. ＂How can the rico-institutional theory help explain the process of SGR＇s SR implementation in Italian and Bulgarian companies＂？ The study identifies both the internal and contextual factors associated with the SR development and the regulative, normative, and cognitive dimensions/factors that affect the implementation and institutionalisation of SR in Italy and Bulgaria, in accordance with the different institutional environments in which the social and sustainability accounting projects are developed.

Under the umbrella concept of conviviality in public spaces, a research project on the rehabilitation of urban areas for commercial and retail uses---as engine of a complex process of production of places for social and cultural mixit6--has been defined. The aim of this research has been to produce useful tools for coping with the abandonment of public spaces in former commercial urban areas, without generating anonymous and globalized commercial districts. Through involving local stakeholders in a participatory process, the first phase of the research here presented needs to demonstrate the possible effectiveness of a pilot action plan in dealing with both isolation and gentrification processes of historical centres. The main hypothesis is that traditional retailers should be considered an essential element to ensure effective public use of urban public spaces. The research methodology is based on a qualitative approach. Focussing on the process of impoverishment within local commercial districts, the research group started working with local stakeholders in order to identify priorities and criticisms for enhancing a regeneration process. The case study to be carried out in naples is the historical market place of Piazza Mercato in the Citth Bassa of naples （Italy）.

Objective： To investigate the anti-tumor activity and molecular mechanism of Tonglian Decoction （通莲汤, TLD） on esophageal carcinoma Eca109 cells. Methods： Ecal09 cells were treated with TLD and its separated formulae, including the clearing-heat and detoxification formula （Q）, activating-blood and promoting-qi formula （H） and nourishing-yin and blood formula （Z）. Cell proliferation was measured using the 3-（4,5-dimethyl-2- thiazolyl）-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide assay, cell morphology was observed using a microscope, the cell cycle was measured using flow cytometry and the activity of the nuclear factor-kappa B （nF- K B） signal pathway was detected by Western blot. Results： The half maximal inhibitory concentrations of TLD, Q and H were 386, 771 and 729 rag/L, respectively. TLD, Q and H significantly inhibited cell proliferation, with 69.43%, 60.84% and 61.90% of treated cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle. The percentage of cells in S phase increased significantly after treatment with TLD, Q, and H compared with the control group （P〈0.05）, and TLD showed the strongest effect. Z had no influence on the cell cycle compared with the control group （P〉0.05）. Western blot detection indicated slight differences in the inhibition of the nF- K B pathway by the different formulae. TLD formula strongly inhibited IKK β, nF- K B, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α expression compared with the control group. Conclusions： TLD inhibited Eca109 cell proliferation by arresting cells in S phase. The possible mechanism might be related to inhibiting the nF- K B transduction cascade. The combination of the herbs found in the three separate formulae, H, Q and Z, work synergistically in TLD to produce the inhibitory effects of TLD treatment on Eca109 proliferation.

The purpose of this paper is to describe and demonstrate the validity of a methodology to distinguish, in the performances of high education institutions （HEIs）, real from perceived performances. The extension of accountability to the evaluation of educational programs involves significant topics concerning the gap between perceived and real performances. It means that, since many actors such as teachers, students, and external stakeholders are involved in the process, the research on methodologies to distinguish subjective from objective parameters is still on the floor. Debate about performance evaluation in this collaboration is still in progress particularly as it concerns the proposal of several parameters and indexes to quantify the topic and reduce the subjectivism in the assessment and the gap between real and perceived performances. After describing and discussing an evaluation model based on three interdependent typologies of indexes, this will be tested in two Tempus projects having the purpose of activating Ph.D. and masters courses. The results encourage deepening researches in this direction and disseminating this methodology and extending and enriching the validation process.

BACKGROUnD An epidemic of Mycobacterium chimaera (M. chimaera) infections following cardiac surgery is ongoing worldwide. The outbreak was first discovered in 2011, and it has been traced to a point source contamination of the Livanova 3T heater-cooler unit, which is used also in Italy. International data are advocated to clarify the spectrum of clinical features of the disease as well as treatment options and outcome. We report a series of M. chimaera infections diagnosed in Treviso Hospital, including the first cases notified in Italy in 2016. CASE SUMMARY Since June 2016, we diagnosed a M. chimaera infection in nine patient who had undergone cardiac valve surgery between February 2011 and november 2016. The time between cardiac surgery and developing symptoms ranged from 6 to 97 mo. Unexplained fever, psychophysical decay, weight loss, and neurological symptoms were common complaints. The median duration of symptoms was 32 wk, and the longest was almost two years. A new cardiac murmur, splenomegaly, choroidoretinitis, anaemia or lymphopenia, abnormal liver function tests and hyponatremia were common findings. All the patients presented a prosthetic valve endocarditis, frequently associated to an ascending aortic pseudoneurysm or spondylodiscitis. M. chimaera was cultured from blood, bioprosthetic tissue, pericardial abscess, vertebral tissue, and bone marrow. Mortality is high in our series, reflecting the poor outcome observed in other reports. Three patients have undergone repeat cardiac surgery. Five patients are being treated with a targeted multidrug antimycobacterial regimen. COnCLUSIOn Patients who have undergone cardiac surgery in Italy and presenting with signs and symptoms of endocarditis must be tested for M. chimaera.

Experiencing various forms of violence in either childhood or adulthood has been associated with cardiovascular disease,both shortly after the event and during follow-up,particularly in *** coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic has heightened the risk of domestic violence with serious sequelae for mental and cardiovascular health in women,possibly due to several contributing factors,ranging from lockdown,stay at home regulations,job losses,anxiety,and ***,it remains paramount to enforce proactive preventive strategies,at both the family and individual level,maintain a high level of attention to recognize all forms of violence or abuse,and guarantee a multidisciplinary team approach for victims of interpersonal or domestic violence in order to address physical,sexual,and emotional domains and offer a personalized care.
