Cirrhosis is an emerging major cause of the development of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),but in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),up to 50%of patients with HCC had no clinical or histological evidence of *** is currently challenging to propose general recommendations for screening patients with NAFLD without cirrhosis,and each patient should be evaluated on a caseby-case basis based on the profile of specific risk factors *** HCC screening in NAFLD,a valid precision-based screening is ***,when evaluating this population of patients,the use of non-invasive methods can guide the selection of those who should undergo a screening and surveillance ***,the objective of the present study is to review the epidemiology,the pathophysiology,the histopathological aspects,the current recommendations,and novel perspectives in the surveillance of non-cirrhotic NAFLD-related HCC.

EH （Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma） is a rare vascular malignant neoplasm. Only 434 cases had been reported until 2006. Symptoms may be nonspecific, but it atso can involve hepatic veins resulting in Budd-Chiari syndrome. The main differential diagnosis is cholangiocarcinoma, sometimes only distinguishable through immunohistochemistry study. We report a case of a young woman diagnosed with hepatic EH and listed for liver transplantation.

The literature highlights that a severe infection by the fungus Colletotrichum truncatum may be capable of inflicting considerable damage to seeds after harvest, potentially affecting their chemical composition and physiological quality. Taking into account that currently there is no categorization in terms of susceptibility and tolerance on this pathogen, the present work is presented with the main objective of “Evaluate the influence of Pathogenicity of C. truncatum on the physiological quality (germination, vigor, viability) and biochemical components in different varieties of soybean seeds (Glycine max)” most planted in the region. The work was carried out in the Agrotec laboratory, located in the Municipality of San Alberto (Alto Paraná), using a completely randomized experimental design, with AxB factorial arrangement, where A indicates ten most planted soybean varieties in the region and B with or without artificial inoculation of Colletotrichum truncatum, with twenty treatments and four repetitions. The variables evaluated were: germination, vigor, viability and chemical composition. The data were subjected to analysis of variance and the Tukey test at 5% error. The results showed a significant statistical difference, accepting the alternative hypothesis proposed “The pathogenicity of Colletotrichum truncatum influences the physiological quality (germination, vigor, viability) and biochemical components (saturated and unsaturated fatty acids) in different varieties of soybean seeds (Glycine max)”.

Bacterial infection is considered to be one of the most critical health issues of the world. It is essential to overcome this problem by the development of new drugs. Marine organisms as corals, sponges, seaweeds, and other are an incredible source of novel pharmacologically active compounds. Herein, the antimicrobial activity (extract/fractions) of the invasive stony coralTubastraea coccinea was evaluated by the disk diffusion method against 21 microbial strains (ATCC and clinical strains). Micro broth dilution was used to determinate the MIC of the fractions that showed antimicrobial activity by the disk diffusion method. Bioautography assay was also performed. Our results showed that the n-butanol (BF) and aqueous fractions (AF) showed activity against ATCC strains Staphylococcus aureus (MIC 31.25 and 250 μg/mL),Salmonella typhimurium (MIC 125 and 500 μg/mL), Escherichia coli (MIC 62.5 and 500 μg/mL) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MIC 62.5 and 500 μg/mL), respectively. Moreover, BF fraction was also effective against the clinical strains S. aureus(MIC 62.5 μg/mL), Klebsiella pneumoniae Carbapenemase—KPC (MIC 125 μg/mL), Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus—MRSA (MIC 125 μg/mL) and Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococcus faecalis—VRE (MIC 62.5 μg/mL). The ratio MBC/MIC reinforces the bactericidal profile of BF fraction. The bioautography assay of BF fraction showed the presence of antimicrobial components at Rf0.55.
