Landscape.change. have.cause. the.de.line.of biodive.sity and affe.te. the.inte.rity of aquatic *** this study,we.asse.se. the.influe.ce.of industrialization associate. with urban de.e.opme.t on aquatic e.vironme.ts and the.biodive.sity of se.iaquatic bugs(Ge.romorpha)at diffe.e.t scale.(wate. quality,habitat,and landscape..Using the.simple.buffe. me.hod,we.e.aluate. nine.stre.ms asse.sing wate. quality variable.,habitat structure.and line.r fe.ture.(radius¼300 m,le.gth¼600 m)for the.pe.ce.tage.of land use.and land *** re.ults found that spe.ie. composition of Ge.romorpha was mainly affe.te. by primary fore.t cove.,habitat inte.rity,le.ve. substrate.and wate. te.pe.ature.29%e.planation),and the.spe.ie. richne.s was mostly influe.ce. by the.habitat inte.rity inde.(HII)and phosphorus *** mode. that be.t e.plaine. the.variation in spe.ie. richne.s showe. a positive.re.ationship with phosphorus conce.trations and HII(43%variation).The.e.ore.our re.ults show that those.human activitie. are.the.main factors alte.ing aquatic biodive.sity from local to re.ional ***,the.re.e.tion of riparian fore.ts–e.e. in urban and industrialize. are.s–can maintain the.dive.sity of se.iaquatic inse.t spe.ie. by providing suitable.e.vironme.ts for the.habitat,fe.ding,and re.roductive.re.uire.e.ts of the.e.aquatic ***,our re.ults also show that the.manage.e.t of riparian ve.e.ation in urban are.s and industrial comple.e. promote. aquatic biodive.sity conse.vation in re.ions unde. de.e.opme.t in the.Amazon.

Solid state.NMR was succe.sfully use. to de.e.mine.the.proton spin-lattice.re.axation time.in the.rotating frame.(T1ρH) for syste.s base. on polypropyle.e.(PP) and PP with titanium dioxide.(TiO2) organically modifie. or unmodifie. incorporate., in orde. to unde.stand the.mole.ular be.avior of the.e.syste.s. The.e.te.hnique. we.e.e.ploye. in the.sample. organically modifie. and unmodifie. TiO2 to inve.tigate.the.e.fe.t of organic modification on the.dispe.sion and distribution of the.particle. in the.PP matrix. The.re.ults we.e.analyze. in te.ms of the.e.fe.t of the.particle. organic modifie. or not according to the.inte.mole.ular inte.action in the.composite.. According to the.T1ρH value., all composite. showe. at le.st two domains: the.short value. we.e.re.ate. to the.rigid part, which include. the.crystalline.and amorphous phase.constricte. in it, while.the.longe. time. we.e.attribute. to the.amorphous re.ion, which had highe. mole.ular mobility compare. to the.rigid re.ion of the.mate.ials. The.incre.se.in the.re.axation time.parame.e. in the.composite. compare. to the.pure.PP was associate. to the.strong inte.action be.we.n titanium dioxide.particle. and the.polyme. chains. This e.fe.t was more.pronounce. for the.syste.s containing organically modifie. TiO2. According to the.re.ults, it could be.infe.re. that inte.mole.ular inte.action occurre. in the.CH2 and CH groups, be.ng more.inte.se.with CH2 groups. Finally, the.solid state.NMR te.hnique. we.e.able.to e.aluate.the.mole.ular dynamics of those.syste.s.

De.ign: Re.rospe.tive.re.ie. of re.orts of RCT’s publishe. in the.Journal of the.Ame.ican Me.ical Association, The.Lance. and the.Ne. e.gland Journal of Me.icine.be.ore.(2002-’03, pre.re.istration e.a) and afte. (2007-’08, re.istration e.a) the.institution of mandatory trial re.istration. Main Outcome.Me.sure. The.primary outcome.was the.proportion of RCT re.orts with ne.ative.outcome. compare. across the.two e.as. Se.ondary outcome.include. othe. factors affe.ting pub-lication. Re.ults: We.ide.tifie. 917 re.orts of RCT’s publishe. in the.two study e.as. No publications in the.pre.re.istration e.a re.orte. trial re.istration compare. with 94.4% in the.re.istration e.a (p 0.001). The.e.was a non-significant incre.se.in ne.ative.trials from the.pre.re.istration to the.re.istration e.a (29.1% vs. 34.1%, p = 0.10, OR 1.26, 95% CI 0.96 - 1.67). Background: Knowle.ge.of the.common bacte.ia that cause.surgical site.infe.tion (SSI) and the.r antibiotic se.sitivity is mandatory if tre.tme.t of surgical infe.tion is to be.succe.sful. The.thre.t of the.e.e.ge.ce.of re.istant strains of bacte.ia is e.e.-pre.e.t. He.ce. a se.sitivity dire.te. the.apy is paramount for the.succe.sful e.adication of organisms with minimal risk of de.e.opme.t of antibiotic re.istance. Aim: The.aim is to ide.tify the.common bacte.ia that cause.SSI in orthopae.ic implant surge.ie. in our hospital. Me.hod: This is a prospe.tive.longitudinal study that include. all orthopae.ic surge.ie. involving the.use.of implants within one.ye.r. Patie.ts that had major orthopae.ic surge.ie. involving implant we.e.followe. up and the.r wounds inspe.te. for signs of SSI on postope.ative.days 3, 7, 14, 42 and 90. Wound swab was take. for microscopy, culture.and se.sitivity analysis from those.who had wound infe.tion, base. on the.CDC guide.ine.. Re.ults: One.hundre. and sixte.n patie.ts me. our inclusion crite.ia and we.e.include. in the.analysis. The.e.we.e.62 male. and 54 fe.ale.. The.me.n age.of the.participant was 39.62 ye.rs (SD = 15.02 ye.rs). Fracture.fixation with plate. and scre.s was the.most common implant surge.y done. The.incide.ce.of SSI was 2.6%, and e.che.ichia coli was the.most common isolate. pathoge.. All the.SSIs we.e.supe.ficial incisional type. and the.infe.tion was monomicrobial in 67% of case. and polymicrobial in 33%. All of the.isolate. pathoge.s we.e.se.sitive.to Imipe.e. and Ge.tamycin. Conclusion: Supe.ficial incisional SSI is the.most common type.of SSI in this study. e.che.ichia coli is the.most fre.ue.t pathoge. in SSI affe.ting implant surge.ie. in our hospital. Ge.tamycin and Imipe.e. should be.use. for the.prophylaxis of SSI in our e.vironme.t.

Background: Surgical site.infe.tion (SSI) is a dre.de. nightmare.for the.Orthopae.ic surge.n. Pre.pe.ative.skin cle.ning with antise.tics has be.n shown to re.uce.the.microbial burde. of the.skin and re.ults in re.uce. incide.ce.of SSI. Howe.e., the.ide.l skin cle.ning age.t re.ains to be.e.tablishe.. Aim: To compare.the.e.ficacy of Povidone.Iodine.Povidone.Iodine.(PI-PI) combination with that of Chlorhe.idine.Gluconate.Alcohol (CG-A) combination in re.ducing SSI in Orthopae.ic surge.ie.. Me.hods: This was a prospe.tive. randomize., double.blinde., controlle. study. Subje.ts that me. the.se.e.tion crite.ia and gave.conse.t we.e.randomize. into PI-PI group (te.t group) and the.CG-A group (control group). Both the.patie.ts and the.asse.sors for SSI we.e.blinde. to the.group a participant be.ongs. Blocking was done.on the.type.of surge.y to cance. the.confounding e.fe.t of surge.y type.on SSI. Standard pe.iope.ative.protocols we.e.applie. to both groups. Asse.sme.t for fe.ture. of SSI was done.on the.3rd day, 7th day, 14th day, 6th we.k and 12th-we.k postope.ative.pe.iod. The.diagnosis of SSI was made.base. on the.Ce.te.s for Dise.se.and Control (CDC) guide.ine.. Re.ults: We.re.ruite. 124 patie.ts for this study, 62 male. and 54 fe.ale.. The.me.n age.of the.subje.ts was 37.5 ye.rs (SD = 14.7 ye.rs). Sixty-two subje.ts we.e.randomize. into e.ch group. The.e.was no significant diffe.e.ce.in the.distribution of the.ge.de.s in the.study arms. Othe. possible.confounde.s such as duration of hospital stay, use.of drains, the.surge.n involve. and age.we.e.e.e.ly distribute. in the.two groups. e.ght patie.ts did not comple.e.the.study. The.ove.all incide.ce.of SSI in the.study was 2.6%. Subje.ts in the.control group had an SSI of 3.4% while.those.in the.PI-PI group had a rate.of 1.8%;howe.e., this was not significant, p = 0.579. Conclusion: Both CG-A and PI-PI combinations are.e.ually e.ficacious as pre.pe.ative.skin antise.tic in Orthopae.ic implant surge.ie..

Sulfonic acid-functionalize. he.e.oge.e.us catalysts have.be.n e.aluate. in the.catalytic de.ydration of C(,monosaccharide. into 5-hydroxyme.hylfurfural(HMF) using dime.hyl sulfoxide.DMSO)as *** comme.cial re.in Ambe.lyst-70 was the.most active.catalyst,which was ascribe. to its highe. conce.tration of sulfonic acid site. as compare. with the.othe. catalysts,and it gave.93 mol%yie.d of HMF from fructose.in 1 *** glucose.as the.starting mate.ial,which is a much more.difficult re.ction,the.re.ction conditions(time.te.pe.ature.and catalyst loading) we.e.optimize. for Ambe.lyst-70 by a re.ponse.surface.me.hodology,which gave.a maximum HMF yie.d of 33 mol%at 147 °C with 23 wt%catalyst loading base. on glucose.and 24 h re.ction *** promote. the.de.ydration of glucose.into anhydroglucose.which acts as a re.e.voir of the.substrate.to facilitate.the.production of HMF by re.ucing side.*** re.se.without a re.e.e.ation tre.tme.t showe. a gradual but not ve.y significant de.ay in catalytic activity.

Le.hal time.is e.timate. whe. the.spe.d of kill is of inte.e.t since.mortality varie. ove. time. We.e.aluate.a comple.e.tary approach, re.e.te. me.sure. logistic re.re.sion using Ge.e.alize. e.timating e.uations (Ge.), for le.hal time.de.e.mination in mosquito dose.re.ponse. Mortality data from anophe.e. larva e.pose. to 3 botanical e.tracts (B,C,e. at 4 conce.tration le.e.s: 500 mg/ml, 250 mg/ml, 50 mg/ml and 12.5 mg/ml we.e.use.. The.re.ult shows the.e.timate. LT50 value. with conce.tration 500 mg/ml be.ng the.most virule.t che.ical for e.tract B (LT50 = 10.3 hrs), C (LT50 = 7.2 hrs) and e.(LT50 = 10.3 hrs). The.le.st virule.t che.ical was conce.tration 12.5 mg/ml for e.tract B (LT50 = 52.1 hrs), C (LT50 = 70.7 hrs) and e.(LT50 = 55.0 hrs). We.conclude.that re.e.te. me.sure. of logistic re.re.sion via Ge. can be.use. as a tool to e.timate.LT50 more.e.fe.tive.y in re.e.te. me.sure. of arthropod data.
