Software Defined Network(SDN)and Network Function Virtualization(NFV)technology promote several benefits to network operators,including reduced maintenance costs,increased network operational performance,simplified network lifecycle,and policies *** vulnerabilities try to modify services provided by Network Function Virtualization MANagement and Orchestration(NFV MANO),and malicious attacks in different scenarios disrupt the NFV Orchestrator(NFVO)and Virtualized Infrastructure Manager(VIM)lifecycle management related to network services or individual Virtualized Network Function(VNF).This paper proposes an anomaly detection mechanism that monitors threats in NFV MANO and manages promptly and adaptively to implement and handle security functions in order to enhance the quality of experience for end *** anomaly detector investigates these identified risks and provides secure network *** enables virtual network security functions and identifies anomalies in Kubernetes(a cloud-based platform).For training and testing purpose of the proposed approach,an intrusion-containing dataset is used that hold multiple malicious activities like a Smurf,Neptune,Teardrop,Pod,Land,IPsweep,etc.,categorized as Probing(Prob),Denial of Service(DoS),User to Root(U2R),and Remote to User(R2L)*** anomaly detector is anticipated with the capabilities of a Machine Learning(ML)technique,making use of supervised learning techniques like Logistic Regression(LR),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Random Forest(RF),Naïve Bayes(NB),and Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost).The proposed framework has been evaluated by deploying the identified ML algorithm on a Jupyter notebook in Kubeflow to simulate Kubernetes for validation *** classifier has shown better outcomes(99.90%accuracy)than other classifiers in detecting anomalies/intrusions in the containerized environment.

压舱水对于船舶的运行和安全至关重要.外来物种能通过船舶压舱水转移到其它海域,给当地的海洋生物以及海洋生态系统平衡带来不利的影响,甚至威胁人类健康.苏丹港原油码头Bashayer II位于红海,国际海运可能会影响当地浮游植物群落结构以及由船舶压舱水引入的外来浮游植物. 2013年,每月在压舱水区域(A)和非压舱水区域(B)通过拖网采集浮游植物样本,进行显微镜观察和计数.在此次研究中,发现了5门26科44属70余种浮游植物,其中包括16种有害浮游植物.夏季占主导地位的浮游植物优势种为蓝藻门束毛藻属浮游植物,而冬季为硅藻门浮游植物,甲藻的种群生物量在整个调查期间保持稳定.调查结果表明,观察到的所有浮游植物均为红海本地种,未发现外来种.此外,在所有采样时间中,两个站位的浮游植物组成之间均未发现显着差异(p>0.05).本研究首次对红海苏丹港Bashayer II浮游植物群落结构开展调查,为苏丹红海沿岸的浮游植物种类以及与船舶压舱水有关的浮游植物的长期观测提供了基础数据.

Domain shift is when the data used in training does not match the ones it will be applied to later on under similar *** shift will reduce accuracy in *** prevent this,domain adaptation is done,which adapts the pre-trained model to the target *** real scenarios,the availability of labels for target data is rare thus resulting in unsupervised domain ***,we propose an innovative approach where source-free domain adaptation models and Generative Adversarial Networks(GANs)are integrated to improve the performance of computer vision or robotic vision-based systems in our *** Generative Adversarial Network(CosGAN)is developed as a GAN that uses cosine embedding loss to handle issues associated with unsupervised source-relax domain *** less complex architecture,the CosGAN training process has two steps that produce results almost comparable to other state-of-the-art *** efficiency of CosGAN was compared by conducting experiments using benchmarked *** approach was evaluated on different datasets and experimental results show superiority over existing state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy as well as generalization *** technique has numerous applications including wheeled robots,autonomous vehicles,warehouse automation,and all image-processing-based automation tasks so it can reshape the field of robotic vision with its ability to make robots adapt to new tasks and environments efficiently without requiring additional labeled *** lays the groundwork for future expansions in robotic vision and *** GAN provides a variety of outstanding features,it also increases the risk of instability and over-fitting of the training data thus making the data difficult to converge.

Prevalence and Correlates of Prediabetes and Diabetes Results-I: A Screening Plan in a Selected Military Community in Central Saudi Arabia

Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease of a genetic and environmental background. If it is not diagnosed and controlled early, it can have devastating complications. Aim: Measure and analyze the prevalence and risks of prediabetes and diabetes among recruits enlisted in the Wadi Al-Dawasir (WD) military zone, central Saudi Arabia. The influence of some demographic criteria, weight, and blood pressure upon blood glucose level would be evaluated. Methods: A cross sectional design was utilized, whereas predesigned questionnaire and clinical interview were used to screen the study population. Results: The participants’ median age was 33.7 (IQR 11.9), mean body mass index (BMI) was 27.6 ± 5.4 kg/m2. Out of 531 recruits screened, almost two-thirds were either overweight (34.7%) or obese (29.9%). The mean waist circumference (WC) was 94.7 ± 13.3 cm;and 27.9% had central obesity (WC ≥102 cm). Random plasma glucose (RPG) median accounted 106 mg/dl (IQR 21). The participants’ RPG levels significantly increased by age (U = 19697.0), by BMI [H(df 5) = 59.6], and by WC (U = 25,670.5), (p rho(df 503) = 0.241, p U 3515, p 25 to ≥40 kg/m2) more than normal subjects [46 (87%) vs. 5 (0.9%)], [χ2(df 5) = 18.8, p Conclusions: Prediabetes and uncontrolled diabetes are relatively prevalent among Saudi recruits’ community. An insufficient influence of obesity for developing diabetes symptoms in the study population may well be attributed to time factor separating the two variables. A preventive approach to revert the predisposition of prediabetes in WD recruits population is quite promising.

Seasonal Variations of Some Ecological Parameters in Tigris River Water at Baghdad Region, Iraq

This study aimed at using nine ecological parameters in evaluating the quality of the Tigris River for public usage, by choosing five sampling sites along the river in Baghdad area. These parameters included temperature, pH, the saturated ratio by dissolved oxygen (%sat), biological oxygen demand (BOD5), nitrate (NO3?1), phosphate (PO4?3), fecal coliform (FC) turbidity and total dissolved solids (TDS), and these parameters were used for calculating overall water quality index in the Tigris River at study area. The results showed high values of turbidity and TDS, as well as high count of FC in all study stations, while other studied parameters were within permissible limit defined by world health organization and Iraqi criteria. The results of the overall water quality index indicated that the Tigris River was in class medium, therefore the Tigris River water in study area is relatively not safe for direct domestic use in all seasons.

Evaluation of BCG Vaccine Immunogenicity in Relation to Vitamin D Status in a Group of Egyptian Children

Background: Vitamin D has an immuomodulatory role in vaccine response and this may be mediated via its action on antigen presenting cells with the most potent effects on dendritic cells. Aim of work: was to determine if there is an association between circulating 25(OH)D concentrations and BCG vaccine cytokine response (interferon gamma) level. Methods: A cross sectional study included 80 infants aged 4 - 9 months from the pediatric outpatient clinic of Al-Zahraa university hospital (40 with normal weight and 40 with underweight). Participants were subjected to history taking, clinical examination, and laboratory investigations, particularly 25 hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH)D] and BCG vaccine-induced interferon gamma (IFN-γ). Results: The study showed that the underweight group had a lower socioeconomic level and higher percentage of breastfeeding compared with the normal weight group. Most infants in our study received vitamin D supplementation (80% and 62.5% in normal and underweight groups, respectively). The average serum level of 25(OH)D was relatively high (>100 ng/ml) in both normal and underweight groups. The mean levels of IFN-γ in response to BCG vaccine were not significantly different between the normal and underweight groups of infants in our study. Al

Although gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)are rare,with an incidence of 1/100000 per year,they are the most common sarcomas in the peritoneal *** considerable progress in the diagnosis and treatment of GIST,about half of all patients are estimated to experience *** only two drugs,sunitinib and regorafenib,approved by the Food and Drug Administration,selecting treatment options after imatinib failure and coordinating multidisciplinary care remain *** addition,physicians across the Middle East face some additional and unique challenges such as lack of published local data from clinical trials,national disease registries and regional scientific research,limited access to treatment,lack of standardization of care,and limited access to mutational *** global guidelines set a framework for the management of GIST,there are no standard local guidelines to guide clinical practice in a resource-limited ***,a group of 11 experienced medical oncologists from across the Gulf and Levant region,part of the Rare Tumors Gastrointestinal Group,met over a period of one year to conduct a narrative review of the management of GIST and to describe regional challenges and gaps in patient management as an essential step to proposing local clinical practice recommendations.

Effect of Albendazole and Mebendazole on Hydatid Cyst of Mice

In the current study, hydatid cysts from livers and lungs of camels were obtained from Tambool slaughter house and protoscoleces were separated aseptically. 36-weeks-old Swiss mice (25 - 30 gram body weight males and females) were divided into two groups of 6 each: a prophylactic group dosed with 150 ml/kg of albendazole and mebendazole was given directly after injection with 2000 protoscoleces intraperitoneally for 10 consecutive days. The treated group was given a dose of 300 ml/kg of albendazole and mebendazole for 24 days with 4 days interval separated by 2 days and after 6 months of inoculation with protoscoleces, the two groups in addition to the control group were sacrificed and necropsied. The results revealed a significant difference in the development of hydatid cyst (p < 0.01). Inside the mice, small number of cysts was noticed in the group treated with albendazole and mebendazole compared to the control group, however, albendazole was highly efficacious than the mebendazole where the efficiency of albendazole reached 97% while the mebendazole efficiency rate was almost 50% which indicates that albendazole could be considered the drug of choice in the treatment of hydatid cyst.

The Impact of Implementing the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems in Ships （AFS Convention） on the Marine Environment

Marine fouling is the settlement and growth of a variety of marine organisms, such as bacteria, diatoms, protozoa and algae spores on structures immersed in seawater, such as ship＇s hulls, navigation buoys, and sonar equipment. Anti-fouling refers to material or systems used to prevent the accumulation of biological material on submerged surfaces. Bio-fouling results in higher fuel consumption and can also facilitate the transport of harmful NIS （Non-Indigenous Species）. Antifouling technologies incorporating biocides （e.g., Tributyltin） have been developed to prevent fouling. Their widespread use, however, raised concerns about their toxic effects on marine communities. The AFS Convention （International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems in Ships） is a 2001 IMO （International Maritime Organization） treaty, whereby states agree to ban the use of harmful anti-fouling paints and other anti-fouling systems that contain harmful substances. Particularly, the use of the organotinTributyltin is prohibited, since leaching of that chemical from the hulls of ships has been shown to cause deleterious effects on some sea creatures. Although the AFS Convention has entered into force, its full implementation has not yet been appropriately achieved. Most of the ratifying States have delegated the Classification Society to inspect their ships to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the Convention. Since painting ships takes place in dry docks, the full control falls in the hands of Classification Societies.
