Flow Field Characteristics of the Rotor Cage in Turbo Air Classifiers

The turbo air classifier is widely used powder classification equipment in a variety of fields. The flow field characteristics of the turbo air classifier are important basis for the improvement of the turbo air classifier＇s structural design. The flow field characteristics of the rotor cage in turbo air classifiers were investigated trader different operating conditions by laser Doppler velocimeter（LDV）, and a measure diminishing the axial velocity is proposed. The investigation results show that the tangential velocity of the air flow inside the rotor cage is different from the rotary speed of the rotor cage on the same measurement point due to the influences of both the negative pressure at the exit and the rotation of the rotor cage. The tangential velocity of the air flow likewise decreases as the radius decreases in the case of the rotor cage＇s low rotary speed. In contrast, the tangential velocity of the air flow increases as the radius decreases in the case of the rotor cage＇s high rotary speed. Meanwhile, the vortex inside the rotor cage is found to occur near the pressure side of the blade when the rotor cage＇s rotary speed is less than the tangential velocity of air flow. On the contrary, the vortex is found to occur near the blade suction side once the rotor cage＇s rotary speed is higher than the tangential velocity of air flow. Inside the rotor cage, the axial velocity could not be disregarded and is largely determined by the distances between the measurement point and the exit.

Exploring the potential of olivine-containing copper-nickel slag for carbon dioxide mineralization in cementitious materials

Water-quenched copper-nickel metallurgical slag enriched with olivine minerals exhibits promising potential for the production of CO_(2)-mineralized cementitious *** this work,copper-nickel slag-based cementitious material(CNCM)was synthesized by using different chemical activation methods to enhance its hydration reactivity and CO_(2) mineralization *** water curing ages and carbonation conditions were explored related to their carbonation and mechanical properties ***,thermogravimetry differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction methods were applied to evaluate the CO_(2) adsorption amount and carbonation products of *** development of carbonated CNCM blocks was examined by backscattered electron imaging(BSE)with energy-dispersive X-ray *** showed that among the studied samples,the CNCM sample that was subjected to water curing for 3 d exhibited the highest CO_(2) sequestration amount of 8.51wt%at 80℃and 72 h while presenting the compressive strength of 39.07 *** result indicated that 1 t of this CNCM can sequester 85.1 kg of CO_(2) and exhibit high compressive *** the addition of citric acid did not improve strength development,it was beneficial to increase the CO_(2) diffusion and adsorption amount under the same carbonation conditions from BSE *** work provides guidance for synthesizing CO_(2)-mineralized cementitious materials using large amounts of metallurgical slags containing olivine minerals.

Physical model investigation on effects of drainage condition and cement addition on consolidation behavior of tailings slurry within backfilled stopes

Estimation of stressses within the tailings slurry during self-weight consolidation is a critical issue for cost-effective barricade design and efficient backfill planning in underground mine *** process requires a good understanding of self-weight consolidation behaviors of the tailings slurry within practical stopes,where many factors can have significant effects on the consolidation,including drainage condition and cement *** this paper,the prepared tailings slurry with different cement contents(0,4.76wt%,and 6.25wt%)was poured into1.2 m-high columns,which allowed three drainage scenarios(undrained,partial lateral drainage near the bottom part,and full lateral drainage boundaries)to investigate the effects of drainage condition and cement addition on the consolidation behavior of the tailings *** consolidation behavior was analyzed in terms of pore water pressure(PWP),settlement,volume of drainage water,and residual water *** results indicate that increasing the length of the drainage boundary or cement content aids in PWP *** addition,constructing an efficient drainage boundary was more favorable to PWP dissipation than increasing cement *** final stable PWP on the column floor was not sensitive to cement *** final settlement of uncemented tailings slurry was independent of drainage conditions,and that of cemented tailings slurry decreased with the increase in cement ***,more pore water can drain out from the cemented tailings slurry than the uncemented tailings slurry during consolidation.

Stability analyses of vertically exposed cemented backfill:A revisit to Mitchell's physical model tests

Mitchell's solution is commonly used to determine the required strength of vertically exposed cemented backfill in mines. Developed for drained backfill, Mitchell model assumed a zero friction angle for the backfill. Physical model tests were performed. Good agreements were obtained between the required strengths predicted by the analytical solution and experimental results. However, it is well-known that zero friction angle can only be possible in terms of total stresses when geomaterials are submitted to unconsolidated and undrained conditions. A revisit to Mitchell's physical model tests reveals that both the laboratory tests performed for obtaining the shear strength parameters of the cemented backfill and the box stability tests were conducted under a condition close to undrained condition. This explains well the good agreement between Mitchell's solution and experimental results. Good agreements are equally obtained between Mitchell's experimental results and FLAC3 D numerical modeling of shortterm stability analyses of exposed cemented backfill.

Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Waterborne Polyurethane Films Modified by CaCO3@TiO2 Particles with UV Absorption Activity

CaCO3@TiO2 particles were synthesized through a direct carbonation method, which can be used as the substitutes of TiO2 in pigments and coatings. To improve the dispersion in waterborne polyurethane（WPU） suspensions, CaCO3@TiO2 particles were modified by stearic acid. SEM tests of the fractured surfaces of the composites films showed that the CaCO3@TiO2 particles were well embedded in the WPU matrix. And the mechanical properties, thermal stability and water resistance of the composites films were improved by the introduction of CaCO3@TiO2 particles.

An ERA5 tropospheric parameters-augmented approach for improving GNSS precise point positioning

Precise Point Positioning(PPP) technology has developed into a potent instrument for geodetic positioning, ionospheric modeling, tropospheric atmospheric parameter detection, and seismic *** atmospheric reanalysis data products’ accuracy and spatiotemporal resolution have improved recently, it has become important to apply these products to obtain high-accuracy tropospheric delay parameters, like zenith tropospheric delay(ZTD) and tropospheric horizontal gradient. These tropospheric delay parameters can be applied to PPP to reduce the convergence time and to increase the accuracy in the vertical direction of the position. The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Reanalysis 5(ERA5) atmospheric reanalysis data is the latest product with a high spatiotemporal resolution released by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF). Only a few researches have evaluated the application of ERA5 data to Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)PPP. Therefore, this study compared and validated the ZTD products derived from ERA5 data using ZTD values provided by 290 global International GNSS Service(IGS) stations for 2016-2017. The results indicated a stable performance for ZTD, with annual average bias and RMS values of 0.23 cm and 1.09 cm,respectively. Further, GNSS observations for one week in each of the four seasons(spring: DOY 92-98;summer: DOY 199-205;autumn: DOY 275-281;and winter: DOY 22-28) from 34 multi-GNSS experiments(MGEX) stations distributed globally in 2016 were considered to evaluate the performance of ERA5-derived tropospheric delay products in GNSS PPP. The performance of ERA5-enhanced PPP was compared with that of the two standard GNSS PPP schemes(without estimated tropospheric horizontal gradient and with estimated tropospheric horizontal gradient). Leaf-color mutations have been studied extensively in ***,to better understand the complex mechanisms underlying the formation of leaf color,it is essential to continue discover novel genes involved in the process of leaf color *** this study,we identified a variegated-leaf(vg)mutant in tomato that exhibited defective phenotypes in thylakoids and *** clone the vg locus,an F2population was constructed from the cross between the vg mutant(Solanum lycopersicum)and the wild tomato LA1589(***).Using the map-based cloning approach,the vg locus was mapped on chromosome 7 and narrowed down to a 128 kb region that contained 21 open reading frames(ORFs).The expression levels of ORF9,ORF10,and ORF13 were significantly lower in vg than in the wild-type plants,while the ORF11 transcript level was elevated in *** then mutagenized ORF9,ORF10,and ORF13 by the CRISPR/Cas9 system in the wild-type tomato background and found that only the ORF10 mutation reproduced the phenotype of variegated leaves,indicating that ORF10 represents VG and its down-regulated expression was responsible for the variegated leaf ***10 encodes a thylakoid formation protein and its mutant lines showed reduced levels of chlorophyll synthesis and *** together,these results suggest that VG is necessary for chloroplast development,chlorophyll synthesis,and photosynthesis in tomato.

Evaluation of tomato fruit quality response to water and nitrogen management under alternate partial root-zone irrigation

A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different water and nitrogen supply amounts on the comprehensive assessment of tomato fruit quality and root growth parameters under alternate partial root-zone *** upper irrigation limitations(i.e.70%(W1),80%(W2)and 90%(W3)of field capacity,respectively)and three N-fertilizer levels(i.e.0.18(N1),0.30(N2)and 0.42(N3)g/kg soil,respectively)were arranged with a randomized complete block design,and alternate partial root-zone irrigation method was *** showed that fruit yields under deficit irrigation(W1 and W2)were decreased by 6.9%and 2.0%respectively compared with W3 under N1 *** of tomato under W1N1 and W1N2 combinations were also reduced by 10.3%and 7.2%,respectively compared with W1N3 *** dry weight,root length,root surface area and root volume were all increased in W1N2 *** to two-way ANOVA,the root parameters except root dry weight,were extremely sensitive to water,nitrogen and the cross effect of the two ***(total soluble solids),SS(soluble sugars)and OA(organic acid)in the fruits increased with the decrease in irrigation water,OA and NC reduced with decreasing amount of ***,within an appropriate range,as more irrigation water and nitrogen were applied,the higher VC(vitamin C)and lycopene contents were identified in the ***,the combinational evaluation method(*** method and gray relational analysis)showed that W2N2 ranked highest in comprehensive fruit ***,considering the tradeoff between fruit comprehensive quality and yields,upper irrigation limitation of 80%θf and N-fertilizer of 0.30 g/kg soil with alternate partial root-zone irrigation was the optimal cultivation strategy for the greenhouse tomato in autumn-winter season in northwest China.

Role of VEGF-A/C and CCR-7 in the enhanced metastasis of A549 cells induced by 2 and 4 Gy X-rays in vitro and in vivo

Radiotherapy is a common strategy in treating lung *** evidence suggested that radiotherapy has the potential to promote the metastasis and invasion of carcinoma *** this study,we aimed to testify the role of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and C-C chemokine receptor-7(CCR-7)in the metastasis of human adenocarcinoma A549 cells in vivo and in *** mice were injected with A549 cells irradiated by 0,2 and 4 Gy X-rays,*** detections of VEGF-A/C and CCR-7 mRNA from lung sample were performed by real-time *** interfering RNA(siRNA)transfection technology was further used to testify the role of the genes in the metastasis of A549 *** and CCR-7mRNA could only be detected 10 weeks post injection in vivo when visible tumor foci scattered in *** addition,VEGF-A/C mRNA expressed significantly higher in mice injected with A549 cells irradiated by 2 and 4 X-rays than those with 0 Gy X-rays *** the other hand,A549 cells with or without X-rays irradiation transfected with VEGF siRAN and CCR-7 siRNA showed a dramatic decrease of invasiveness compared to normal A549 cells with or without *** migration indexes were?0.7,?0.48,?0.34 and?0.32 for A549 cells with CCR-7 siRNA,VEGF siRNA,X-rays combined CCR-7 siRNA and X-rays combined VEGF-siRNA *** results demonstrated that X-rays could promote the metastasis of A549 cells,and VEGF-A/C and CCR-7 mRNA were closely related to the metastasis of A549 cells in vivo and in vitro.

Accuracy Analysis for 6-DOF PKM with Sobol Sequence Based Quasi Monte Carlo Method

To improve the precisions of pose error analysis for 6-dof parallel kinematic mechanism( PKM)during assembly quality control,a Sobol sequence based on Quasi Monte Carlo( QMC) method is introduced and implemented in pose accuracy analysis for the PKM in this paper. The Sobol sequence based on Quasi Monte Carlo with the regularity and uniformity of samples in high dimensions,can prevail traditional Monte Carlo method with up to 98. 59% and 98. 25% enhancement for computational precision of pose error *** a PKM tolerance design system integrating this method is developed and with it pose error distributions of the PKM within a prescribed workspace are finally obtained and analyzed.
